  1. I'm not complaining at all because they're both great actresses, but I guess Jean Smart is going the Margo Martindale on FX route and is going to be in every other show they make.
  2. I like the British shows too, but I thought The Killing was great. Would watch again. And now thanks to @Catdaddyhorn I'm not going to get that comparison out of my head every Sunday while watching MoE. That and Murder Durder.
  3. @longhornmatt said the part with him ending up with Robin was predicable. He then said the part of revealing who the mother actually was and her fate was surprising, which it was. It wasn't necessarily a good surprise, but it was kind of out of left field compared to how the last two season had been built up. Judging by your bolded comments above, it sounds like you still don't know who the mother was. That's fine since you probably didn't watch, but FYI, it wasn't Robin, which you seem to keep implying. It was a new character played by an actress you don't meet until the final season, so I really doubt you guessed who it was nine seasons before the character was introduced.
  4. I think the writing is a bigger problem than the cast. When it's good, the cast has no problems being funny. I just can't understand how something like the Iceland skit made it to air unless they just ran out of time and had nothing else to fill airtime with. I think Keenan Thompson, Aidy Bryant, Beck Bennett, and Heidi Gardner are all serviceable cast members that can be put in a sketch and be funny so long as it's a decent sketch. Colin Jost and Michael Che are very good at Weekend Update, which is still, as it always was, a highlight most weeks. Kyle Mooney and Melissa Villasenior are both funny and very underutilized most of the time. Pete Davidson and Kate McKinnon are both overused, IMO, and aren't as funny as their airtime suggests. I guess it's popular since it's a reoccurring bit, but I don't really find the "Chad" sketches funny at all. They do need new blood in the cast though to shake things up.
  5. What happens in my brain: What's 47+28? Okay. 47.....57....67....what was the other number? Shit...I need to check...oh yeah, it was 28. Okay, so 47....57....67 plus 8...why does my stomach keep growling? Have I not eaten? What am I going to get for lunch today? Probably tacos. I need to sneak out of here soon. Wait...what am I doing? Okay, concentrate. Let's see...47....I mean 67 plus 8 is...75? Yes, 75.
  6. It was. I can't remember the number, but it was in there. Community is like Arrested Development. Both shows had three perfect seasons before being sabatoged by their networks and then subsequent seasons that were completely disappointing by the original seasons' standards.
  7. What a gut punch. Terrible news and way too young.
  8. Could it BE any more on the list?
  9. I was a little young when Cheers was on the air and didn't watch it until it was streaming on Netflix, but I thought the show took a nosedive in the Kirstie Alley years. Loved the earlier seasons though. I thought Frasier was great too. Also if you're grading shows based on how good they are overall and not just how good or innovative they were in (insert year) compared to what else was on in that era, I'd choose Curb over Seinfeld any day.
  10. McConnell "Our mission is to stop Biden's agenda at all costs." Manchin: "We can't touch the filibuster. We need to find a way to work in a bipartisan manner with the minority."
  11. He gets attention because he spends the majority of his time seeking it through the media and Twitter. It's mostly all he does. This is a political board for the most part made up of Texans, former Texans, or people with some connection to Texas through the university. Ted Cruz is going to receive our attention and be discussed.
  12. He didn't get voted out in 2018 because most Texans are idiots. It's that simple. More Texans will vote for the letter R over the letter D regardless of how shitty the R is every time. That's not to say Democrats shouldn't do a much better job in the state of Texas of nominating better candidates most of the time, but Beto was a good candidate and absolutely should have beaten Cruz. Ted Cruz doesn't care about what his job is in the Senate. He doesn't do anything in the Senate except obstruction and theater that he hopes will get on conservative news media because he's perpetually campaigning for his next gig. He's a narcissist, like Trump, without the bravado and charisma, which is why he's completely changed his look and the way he talks in the last few years to appeal to Trump's base. He views his job in the Senate as nothing more than a stepping stone to the presidency that he felt he deserved, for some reason, after only serving in government for a few years. It's why he won't even take messages from his constituents and openly admits to being corrupt. Because he doesn't care. But to your original point, no, his Twitter game isn't strong. He gets clowned on by countless people every time he posts anything.
  13. That's actually MI6 and their 00 program, not the CIA.
  14. Right? It's getting uncomfortable for me, too.

  16. Sir, drunk tweeting before noon on a Sunday isn't the best look for a Senator.
  17. Finally got around to watching this a couple of nights ago since it was leaving HBO Max. The three fights were cool, and that's about it. Barely anything resembling a story and zero effort spent on developing a single interesting human character. Will not watch again.

    2021 NFL DRAFT

I don't see any cause for alarm. The Big East lasted, what, a good six years after this before throwing in the towel on football altogether??
  19. Are these fuckers not also being sued by Dominion along with Fox?
  20. I tried to see this last weekend but it was only in a couple of theaters and sold out at the only time I could see it. (Weird as hell seeing a movie sold out, but whatever). Is it for rent anywhere on streaming platforms yet for less than $20?
  21. I take it you've never worked in fast food?
