  1. He also ended the Open Skies treaty, abandoned military bases in Syria to Russia, and among other things we'll probably never know about, didn't enforce sanctions signed into law against Russia. This idea that Trump was tougher on Russia and was a deterrent against Russian aggression is a joke. Trump was doing all he could to undermine NATO. He was every authoritarian in this world's best friend and useful idiot while he couldn't even get along with our own allied leaders. He traded legitimacy to the North Korean government for empty promises that were broken within a year. Nobody saw him as a tough leader except weak minded people.
  2. I'm in episode 2. It's a fun watch so far but some of the acting is straight up bad and his tough guy shit talking one liners come off as a bit corny to me. In the first episode there's a scene where he's correcting the detective that after 12:00 midnight is technically morning and not "at night" and he comes off like a pedantic dork making an argument some 3rd grader would make just to be purposefully annoying. Yet I think that was the writers trying to make him seem clever? Yikes.
  3. He should really refrain from commenting on other's looks. Ted Cruz wasn't a great looking guy to begin with and always gave off a bit of a creepy vibe. He's now letting himself go rather quickly and is turning into a fat, hairy Grandpa Munster.
  4. Yes. It's not the main demographic, but enough of them do. Plus their segments and words still get spread around on Twitter, Facebook, and other outlets and will still end up influencing people who don't even actively watch these channels.
  5. They were also really bad at lip syncing. I realize all Super Bowl halftime performances are probably lip syncs, but at least try to sell it. Dre standing up and walking away from a piano while it still plays, Eminem pulling the mic away from his mouth while he keeps rapping. Lots of mess ups.
  6. He mad no one wants to piss on him.
  7. I get so tired of hearing about libertarians. Not all but many self described libertarians are just Republicans who don't want to call themselves Republicans.* Most agree with Republicans and support Republicans on just about everything with the exception of 1 or 2 issues like maybe the drug war or in rarer cases abortion. Calling themselves a libertarian is a way to act pretentious and above it all when it comes to two party politics while being able to throw their hands in the air and pretend nothing's their fault when the Republican politicians they pretend they don't support and enable are in power and do stupid things. Weird how so many are never around to criticize the Ted Cruzes, Abbotts, or Trumps of the GOP but suddenly come out of the woodwork after four years now that Ds are back in power. *I have no idea who Dave Smith is or if he's some true believer. Just referring to my interactions with libertarians in general.
  8. This reminds me of a series he did on nutrition and diets I remember listening to a few years back and he had on two "experts" with opposing viewpoints. Experts in quotes because for the life of me I can't remember who he had on. Anyway, if I recall correctly one was a keto/carnivore diet advocate and the other was a plant based diet advocate. The plant based guy cited scientific study after study throughout the entire three hour podcast showing where people who eat more plant based foods and less meat live longer, have higher bio markers of health, etc., etc., etc. and Rogan, who was supposed to be the middle guy or moderator of sorts in the debate, just constantly dismissed and dunked on him the entire time, saying the studies were flawed and so on. Even as someone attracted to the keto diet and a fan of Rogan at the time it rubbed me the wrong way at how dismissive of peer reviewed studies and evidence Rogan was. He is really just a conspiracy minded person who is always attracted to the outlier, non mainstream way of doing things. I think it explains why he went from rooting for Bernie to rooting for Trump. Both were the weird outlier non mainstream candidates compared to boring political old timer Joe Biden. He can't give equal time to qualified majority opinions because he simply doesn't believe in experts unless they're spouting a minority opinion that goes against mainstream thought. Everything is some sort of conspiracy.
  9. It's frankly amazing how simple minded and easily manipulated into outrage they are over whatever twisted nonsense their choice of right-wing media outlet tells them to be outraged at. Pretending CRT was being taught in elementary schools must have been milked for almost all it can, so they're moving on to Biden wants to give black people crack pipes.
  10. Did you drive by him at first, have to slam on the brakes, reverse back to him and apologize because you couldn't see him?
  11. For sure. And there's just way too much good content being produced all the time for me to go back and re-watch shows I've already seen. I just don't have the time. I loved Breaking Bad and have really liked this show as well, but my excitement for this final season is way more luke warm than it should be. Maybe I'll skim through a few of the last episodes.
  12. Don't forget Jim Breuer and Dr. Drew. I haven't even thought about Corolla since the Loveline/Man Show days. All of these 1990's entertainers have apparently spent the last two decades smoothing their brains out to Fox News propaganda and want to come back now to ruin their legacies.
  13. Tom

    Cobra Kai

He also really loves his wife and just can't get his lines out fast enough before Jamie Taco steals them.
  14. I'm in the exact same boat. I'm watching and enjoying season 2, but there's soooooo much I can't remember from season 1 and feel like I'm always confused on what certain characters' motivations are. I'm sure there's a wikipedia page or online recap of everything that happened in season 1 if I stop being lazy and search for it before this next week's episode.
  15. You should make this same exact post another 14 times!
  16. Wow, I guess I was born 20 years early. I mean I didn't choose to have less sex in high school, but things were what they were.
  17. Oh, right. Haha, it's early and I don't read good.
  18. And that's fair. I had no idea she was bisexual either. The only other thing I know her from is the Spiderman movies so I'm not really familiar with any of her Disney stuff or upbringing.
  19. What is this opinion based on? Generally curious because I don't have high school kids nor do I personally know anyone in that age group anymore, but I don't think teen pregnancies have suddenly stopped being a thing, have they? I have a hard time believing the above. Y'all need glasses. She may not be a traditional Hollywood bombshell or as good looking as Cassie, but she's not even close to being considered unattractive. She's very cute in a girl next door kind of way.
  20. 15-year-old me thought she was great (and hot) in Disturbing Behavior. Don't feel like testing how that movie held up.
  21. I FINALLY paid off the last of my loans in 2021 from a school I graduated from in 2009 from a degree I don't even use directly anymore and no longer have anything to do with the field of study. It took forever because I initially put off paying it seriously for a long time, plus after getting divorced with a lot of debt there was some struggle and deferments/forbearances along the way. I was fortunate enough to also have some help from my parents. But it was finally all paid off in 2021. I give zero shits if the government comes in and helps other people with these burdensome school loans even though I've now paid my own off. I just don't get the mindset of "well, I suffered through it so everyone else has to suffer, too." The only thing I really have against the blanket forgiveness of loans is that it does nothing to address why school is so expensive now in the first place. There's no good reason school needs to cost as much as it does today compared to three, four, five decades ago. I think the potential downside is that banks and schools might be emboldened to increase prices and give out even bigger loans if they know the government will just come in and write a blank check to pay off debts. I'd like to see legislation tied to school loan forgiveness that aims at reducing the cost of college whether it's by allowing loans to be written off through normal bankruptcy, price caps on what schools can charge, or whatever it takes. We don't need to be having the conversation again every 10 years.
  22. That's disappointing to hear. I didn't realize this was already out, but I was hoping it would scratch that Downton Abbey itch.
  23. This isn't really the thread to digress down this rabbit hole, but I think the truth is a little more nuanced. Having a felony of any kind is automatically living life on hard mode though. People don't just overlook felonies because you're white. Want a good job? It's going to be at least 7 years before that felony stops showing up on most standard private corporation background checks. Maybe at that point you can hide from it and it'll also be long enough that your name won't show up on the first couple of pages of a standard Google search. But many HR departments at big companies will automatically throw out felony applicants without hesitation or second thought. Many professional licenses you will be barred from permanently. Need a place to live? Most large leasing companies that own apartment complexes will throw your application in the trash the second they find out you have a felony. There are some second chance complexes out there, but most of those require you to be 10 years removed from the end of your probation/parole/sentencing. So if you got mixed up in something in 2004, served an eight year sentence or probation, you would only now this year in 2022 qualify for many of those places. Otherwise I hope you either have family or friends that will help you out with a place to live or can find a unicorn rental property either on Craigslist or through word of mouth that either doesn't run background checks or is privately owned and will work with you. Otherwise you're probably going to be living in a shithole somewhere that is highly unsafe surrounded by other felons. Not to mention in the case of someone like Hayden's sister or any number of people that were likely intelligent, good-hearted people that got caught up in something bad, whatever underlying trauma or issues probably led to them using and getting caught with the drugs in the first place may be unresolved or still haunting them after the fact. Pile on the enormous burden of new hoops you have to jump through just to try to build a normal, decent life along with having the label of a felon tethered like a weight to your ankles, and there's a reason why recidivism is so high and so many people don't make it. So do felons get second chances? Sure. But at a huge cost and it's easy to see why rehabilitation is not common and why so many will ultimately fail.
  24. He's slurring but it also seems like he might have a bit of coke jaw going on.
