  1. I said it was mathematically obvious they had no shot. Which it was to everyone who paid attention to the Mavs late season implosion. They needed to win three in a row (coming off a stretch they had just lost 7 of 8 while trying to win) and needed a double digit underdog of bench warmers to win on last day among other things to even have a coin flip chance of making the play in.
  2. even if they hadn’t tanked, they still wouldn’t have made the play in game.
  3. The DFW media was real uppity after they hit the lotto, as if this was some master stroke Nico planned all along.
  4. They only began to tank when it was mathmatically obvious that they had no shot at making the play in. It was after they blew a big lead in a game against the Hornets late in the season that Luka sat and the Mavs went full tank the last few games of the season. Do you see anyone claiming they'll be good without Kyrie and AD out? If you are going to suck, may as well get some assets this year, maximize your odds of getting a good pick while you can and shed some salary while you're at it. Why rush Kyrie and AD back for what is going to be a bad year anyway? If you can get value out of PJ Washington or Gafford and shed some salary sending Klay to a contender, you absolutely do it at this point to begin to get some assets back. Why would you want to be a borderline second apron lotto team? It makes no sense. You may be the first person I've ever seen complain about Mark Followill. He's one of the best in the NBA..
  5. This is a great year to sell off and be at the top of the lotto odds. As long as they don't get fleeced Nico style or take on albatross contracts you should have some decent assets and some cash to throw around in 2027 around a young core of Flagg + high lotto pick. If they do this right, this doesn't have to be as painful as it may have been under Cuban who would have refused to fall out of the 9-10 play in game.
  6. Fuck Nico and fuck everyone who bitched about the relenting pressure the fans put on the team to fire him.
  7. All calls have same impact? Didn’t think so. You can have a great team and also admit that your coach gets you the benefit of the whistle more often than not..
  8. Shut down the run game like we are more than capable of doing and I can live with being beat by Gunner Stockton. So many people on here are more scared of the uniform than the actual players on the field.
  9. If you believe Vegas knows something, this should make you feel better. That number inside seven is begging Joe blow public to take Georgia.
  10. Sarks march to the sea incoming..
  11. This sets up about as perfectly as you could have hoped for going into RRS week in October. Nobody in top 15 has as many opportunities to put skins on the wall.
  12. The thing you keep ignoring is that not only did BYU have a terrible OOC schedule, they also play in a weak conference. You get less leeway when you play Utah, ISU and Texas Tech vs OU, Georgia and A&M. Don’t like it? Schedule someone with a pulse and get a win against a team like Ohio State which would give you leeway to drop another game. Texas played the most difficult OOC game in the country and lost by a TD, context absolutely matters. You can’t ignore it because it fits your argument.
  13. If we both end up with three losses, they won’t be ahead of us. OU adding wins over Mizzou (who likely ends up unranked) and a dead LSU team < Texas adding wins over Arkansas and either a top 5 A&M or Georgia team.
  14. OU is going to get waxed by Bama in 2 weeks anyway making all of this moot if we keep winning. Simpson is not making the horrible plays that Aguilar did that kept OU in the game.
  15. I agree with the sentiment in general, but context is important. Missing three safeties against a team throwing deep in desperation mode is never going to look pretty. I just don’t agree that throwing deep to Mosley (who drew the penalty which was the second best outcome outside of a TD) was turtling. Running Wisner up the gut twice would have been turtling. They correctly call a penalty that was OSU 2015 level of obvious and final is 37- 16 at worst.
  16. I don’t think it’s a guarantee, but if the BYU tech loser has two losses and doesn’t get absolutely blasted in the title game they are likely in. Utah has absolutely no right to claim a spot with no good wins and that dog shit schedule though.
  17. Utah could go 10-2 with its best win against a 3 or 4 loss ASU team who didn’t have its backup QB. Assuming BYU goes 10-2 losing the most likely games, they’ll have a win over a 3 loss fringe top 25 Utah team and no other decent wins. If Tech loses to BYU, it will end season with 2 wins over fringe ranked teams in the best of scenarios. You can see where the skepticism comes from if you take off the Yormark goggles.
  18. What the fuck does that even mean? The team is going to be so mad they came into Austin and won they’re going to play extra hard?
  19. Definitely not 53. That would be way too long
  20. "I'm taking my talents to Saskatchewan" - Pavia after going undrafted with a workout that is quicker than Rick Pitino in an Italian restaraunt.
  21. O/U on the amount of Pavia brothers who get arrested on 6th this weekend?
  22. I get why people are pissed. I just think it’s taking the easy way out blaming his off the field issues. Alleged escapades have nothing to do with Banks still coaching here.
  23. What about the scenario where he just got cocky and complacent and ignored obvious issues because he thought they could be fixed using his process? That seems just as likely if not more than going on a 30 day bender and CDC deciding to give him an extension immediately after. Neither one is acceptable, but I think it’s over simplifying things to just call him a drunk and blame everything on that issue. I’m not saying he is or isn’t drinking, but I doubt the situation is so black and white.
