  1. We don't play Hertha until Thursday but hell yeah. Can't wait to see him back on the field.
  2. £12M isn't a great price from our end but we'd be up to what, £42M in player sales this summer? It would also open up a non-homegrown slot which we desperately need to do if we're going to add another attacker, assuming we don't buy an English player.
  3. How so? Shaq / Jota / Bowen – age 23 season Even if that were true, we're talking about a guy who turns 30 in October and has barely been available when he's been needed most. That's not changing any time soon.
  4. Bowen is five years younger and scored eight goals with five assists last year, playing in all 38 Premier League games for West Ham. Shaqiri has played in 45 PL matches for us and has scored seven goals with five assists. I realize that those numbers don't tell the whole story, and that Bowen would cost significantly more than Shaq in terms of a transfer fee, but we have to start looking toward the future and factor in the homegrown player side of the equation. There's also Shaq's injury history: Bowen: I like Shaqiri, who seems content to be a bit player for us – and his inability to stay fit means that's all he'll ever be – but if we can move him on for even £10M we should do it. We'd get his £80K/week wages off the bill, which is more than Trent, Robbo, and Gomez, and also make room for a homegrown player.
  5. "Is Khris Middleton good enough to be the #2 on a championship team?"
  6. I feel that. Would hate to lose Barnes from state politics, especially since he could succeed Evers as you said, but I also think he's got the best shot to beat the current piece of shit who's currently our senior senator. Dude's been putting in work on the lakes, fishing at every opportunity. That in addition to driving turnout in Milwaukee puts him in the driver's seat.
  7. Mandela Barnes announced he's entering the (rather crowded) Wisconsin Dem primary to kick Ron Johnson's ass to the curb. https://twitter.com/TheOtherMandela/status/1417470806372782088?s=20 This is very good news.
  8. Lots of chatter about Hendo not signing a new deal, leaving open the possibility that he's sold this summer. That would be absolutely insane. Despite his age and pretty terrible injury record, he's an integral member of the squad and to lose him would be a major blow to our team moral imo.
  9. Mateusz Musialowski signs first professional contract Pretty easy to get excited about this kid's prospects. Probably still a year away from making some Cup appearances for us (or potentially getting loaned out to a Championship side like Harvey did last year) but this is great news and he's for sure one to keep an eye on.
  10. Never at any point did I think we were winning that game last night. Booker was absolutely cooking – felt like he was never gonna miss. Him picking up his fifth was arguably the most critical play of the game. He was okay when he came back in but I think he went 2/4 with a couple of crucial misses down the stretch, and that doesn't happen if he stays on the floor. Giannis' defense in the final three minutes was as good as you'll ever see – that iconic block and (I think) two steals, including what was essentially the clincher when he poked the ball away from Chris Paul. Glad we finally got a close game for the neutrals, and that we have a series on our hands. Here's a better angle of that crazy block:
  11. Not sure where these numbers are coming from (i.e. North America, globally, etc) but thought this was interesting, in light of the poor ratings narrative around this Finals series: Either all the Suns/Bucks fans have been buying Finals merch or they're actually popular teams?
  12. lmao Nat's gonna go for like £5M more than that.
  13. Between the losing Nuno, Patricio, and the uncertainty of Jimenez, I wouldn't be shocked to see Wolves hover around the relegation zone. I think they have enough talent to stay up but they're going to struggle.
  14. Honestly did not expect a "but they're not American" argument but here we are.
  15. Read the fuckin room Slabhead
  16. Admittedly I'm biased but I'm not sure how anyone who likes the NBA can hate on these Finals. You have two organizations who've overcome the hurdle of being from a small market and had to build their teams from the ground up, through the draft and smart trades. You have a supernova talent in Giannis, one of the game's best young offensive players in Devin Booker, and a first-ballot HOFer (and maybe the best pure point guard ever) trying to get his first ring. Both of fanbases are awesome. I was at the game last night and I've never felt anything close to that kind of energy in a crowd, including both natty's that Texas played in at the Rose Bowl. It was absolutely bonkers, and it looks pretty much the same in Phoenix. The games haven't been close but they've been good basketball and Giannis has been putting up historical numbers the last two games.

  18. Looks like Grujic is off to Porto for 13M. Good deal for all parties.
  19. Konate was bought to be a starter and will partner VVD in our first match, barring any setback for either.
