  1. Apparently Sepp van den Berg and Rhys Williams will be the CB partnership. I hope Tsimikas plays as well but damn, that's a very green back line, even if Trent is in there to work up some needed match fitness.
  2. Moyes, two West Ham players, test positive for COVID I don't have a great feeling about this season going uninterrupted tbh.
  3. Not going to pretend that I watched Sarr in his Rennes days, but apparently he played quite a bit as a center forward with them. And you'll remember that when Bobby came to Liverpool, he was pretty much an out-and-out #10. As for what he brings to the table, Sarr is really different from Jota. He's one of the fastest players in the league and super raw. Jota is isn't nearly the athlete that Sarr is but he is a very intelligent player and good finisher. Jota is ready to spell our front three today; Sarr is gonna take some time. I really, really hope this deal goes through.
  4. Well, I think it'd be more of a 4-2-1-2-1, with Keita playing more centrally than our wings play in our standard 4-3-3. ---Hendo ----- Fabinho -------------Thiago Mané--------------Keita -------------Salah We'd be very reliant on our fullbacks providing the width in this formation, but that's pretty much our SOP. Mostly I just want to find a way to get Naby on the field with Thiago, along with plenty of defensive work rate behind him so he's not burdened with having to win the ball back. He hasn't really found his feet in any of our current formations and I like the idea of him starting in a more attacking position, allowing him to exchange with Mané. No idea if that's something we'd ever see, but I do think Klopp will see the opportunity to freshen things up a bit and throw some curveballs in our bigger matches.
  5. Not sure that PL matches getting bumped in favor of the Tour de France bodes well for the rest of the season tbh.
  6. I think we'll see a fair amount of 4-2-3-1 throughout this season, particularly in CL games: Hendo-Fabinho Mané ---Thiago ----Keita ---------Salah This allows for an incredible amount of flexibility and lets us rest/rotate players whenever we need: Jota can play on either wing or up top, Gini can play in any of the central three midfield spots, Thiago could slot in for either of the two pivot spots, Fabinho can play CB if we need him to. Then there are Jones, Minamino, Ox, Milner, and Elliott... The acquisition of Thiago and Jota has given Klopp a ridiculous amount of options and suddenly we are arguably the deepest squad in the league. Indeed a good problem to have.
  7. That Hoever move was absolutely out of the blue. I'm a little disappointed tbh but it sounds like it means we'll definitely be bringing someone in. Jota would be nice, Traore would be absolutely incredible. (I know, not gonna happen.)
  8. Thanks for the update on the Thurs night Brazilian league match.
  9. We've gotta get something for Wilson and Grujic. It might not be quite what we hope, but even £25M for the two of them would go a long way toward getting Sarr. I'm guessing clubs are holding out as long as they can to try and get the transfer fees down, but I'd be pretty surprised if they're Liverpool players after the window closes. Speaking of, when does the window close again?
  10. I'd sell Brewster if it meant landing Sarr.
  11. Well this is certainly good news.
  12. Definitely a good move for all parties. Martinez looked the part as Leno's stand-in.
  13. Watching the match this past weekend, it was hard not to think of how valuable Gini is to this side. I've said it before but I'll say it again – no way he leaves this window, unless the fee is massive. He simply cannot be replaced at this point and it'd be better to have him for this season and lose him for free next year than to take something like £15M.
  14. If our biggest concern is whether or not Virgil can pull the back line's collective head out of its ass, that's fine by me. Our attack looked pretty great against Leeds and if that continues, we'll be just fine. I really hope that Jones, Minamino, and Keita can start supplying some goals though. Their legs will be the freshest in what is going to be a grinding season. Maybe I'm worrying too much about how much football Mané and Mo have played but I think fatigue is going to be our biggest concern over the course of the season.
  15. Gotdamn Salah was sharp today. Thoroughly deserved his hat trick, even if two were penalties. His second goal was an absolute laser. Jones' cameo was nice as well. His confidence is incredible and he does not look out of place at all among the big boys. Naby had a great first half and I thought he should've been fed a simple ball from Firmino to finish, but Bobby tried to take it himself. Bobby looked amazing in spurts but pretty frustrating overall. Nice to walk away with three points. Leeds are going to give a lot of teams a real fight this year.
  16. I'm not terribly bullish on us this year but if there's any manager in the world that can motivate his squad, it's Klopp. I'm concerned with fatigue, both mental and physical, and obviously the fact that we've brought in basically no one over the last three windows. Coupled with the fact that Anfield will be empty and our mostly uninspiring form after the restart, I'd be somewhat shocked if we're able to repeat. Klopp has always spoken about the need to keep things fresh, so I'm hoping he has big plans for Keita, Minamino, and Jones. I'm not sure how much we'll stray for the tried and true 4-3-3 that absolutely decimated the league last season, but it feels like some teams have figured it out and I'd like to see more of the diamond and 4-2-3-1. Our opening match has banana skin written all over it, and while I think we'll end up winning, Leeds is going to come out firing and there will be periods of the match where they take it to us. Very excited to have meaningful football back. Honestly feels like Boxing Day was the last time a league game felt consequential.
  17. Top 10: 1.) Chelsea 2.) City 3.) Liverpool 4.) Man U 5.) Tottenham 6.) Wolves 7.) Arsenal 8.) Everton 9.) Southampton 10.) Sheffield United Relegated: West Brom, Villa, Fulham Only reason I think Crystal Palace avoids relegation is that I think they'll have Eddie Howe as their manager by Boxing Day. They might be the worst team in the PL, talent-wise though.
  18. Damn. Bournemouth getting relegated from the PL two years in a row would really be something.
  19. Love too address thank you cards to U R Appreciated
  20. Yeah, they definitely do not have a long-term plan but they do have some talent and a very good manager, so I'm guessing they're hoping for a Cup run and maybe Europa qualification?
  21. On the plus side, you didn't get shot seven times in the back by the cops who pulled you over?
  22. This looks to be a good model for all PDs to follow.
