  1. Shaqiri hurt again. Actually, that's probably a misstatement because it would imply that he was, at some point, fit. I guess he was worth a flyer but what a fucking waste of money that dude was.
  2. Lots of chatter that we're close to landing Thiago. Deal could happen in the next few days. We've also sold Ejario to Reading for £3.5M. Good business for all parties, I think.
  3. Really proud of the Milwaukee Bucks. Hell yeah. (I say this as a season ticket holder who desperately wants to see them lift the title this year.)
  4. Robin Vos is a scumbag of the highest order. Truly a man with no dignity or shame.
  5. Can't believe there haven't been any "cold rainy night in Stoke" jokes yet.
  6. *man attempts to rescue kid who's drowning* GRHorn: What's the story here? Why would you try to save a drowning child caught in a dangerous riptide?
  7. More like Leo Messy amirite?
  8. Brewster's first: https://streamable.com/tnrvc8 Brewster's second. What a finish! https://streamable.com/ho65l3
  9. Origi is a perfect example – he contributed a goal/assist every 100 minutes this season and yet we'd still probably sell him tomorrow if we got a decent offer. He's a proven goal scorer and has done so on the biggest of stages but if Leeds slapped down £20M tomorrow, we'd snap their hand off. (Shaqiri doesn't offer anything because he can't stay fit for more than a few days.) I don't want to see Brewster sent out on loan – he more than deserves a shot to contribute in the cups and off the bench. I just wouldn't be shocked if we see him loaned out again because I'm not sure he's a great fit for Klopp's system.
  10. Also –hopefully Brewster's scoring record at Anfield is better than Aguero's!
  11. So did Alan Shearer and I'm skeptical Klopp would've played him in his side. I'm not at all against keeping Brewster around and I hope he scores goals for fun. I just could see the reasoning behind loaning him out again, especially if he's not seeing the field much.
  12. You guys seem to have mistaken this thread for the Blueshit – West London thread. (Which, fair enough, since you're the only ones making transfers.)
  13. The question with Brewster is whether or not he can contribute enough goals to justify his inclusion in the team, since he does little else besides finish. I realize that's a little harsh, and obviously goals win you points, but Klopp is so demanding of his players' overall contribution; I could see him going out on loan again, even though he's done about as much as someone can to prove his worth.
  14. Surprised to see this thread buried after what happened last night. Cops in Kenosha, WI (about 45 min south of Milwaukee, 45 min north of Chicago) shot a Black man seven times in the back as he was walking away from them. His three children were in the car. I'm not going to post the video of the lynching because it is truly horrifying, but miraculously the man (Jacob Blake) is in serious but stable condition after successful surgery.
  15. This is such an amazing post. Without even getting into the the stupidity of the argument that because you've watched more soccer you have a better opinion than someone else, your claim of "500 finals since 1985" would mean that you've watched more than 14 finals per year, every year. Let's tally up the numbers. Since 1985, there have been: 9 WC finals, 8 European Cup finals (I'm generously assuming the Euro was even available on domestic TV in most of that time period; even in 2004 we had to PPV it), 14 Copa America finals, 11 televised Gold Cup finals, 10 Confederations Cup finals, 18 AFCON finals (again, impressive that you were able to find that 1992 thriller between Cote d'Ivoire and Ghana on TV; even in 2015 I had to go to an Ivorian restaurant in Harlem to watch a pirated stream.) Assuming you also watched every FA Cup and League Cup final since 1985, that's 70 more, bringing our total to 140. Every Copa Libertadores (35) + every Copa Sudamericana (18) + every MLS Cup final ( 35) + every Copa del Rey (35) is 123 more. So that's 263, just over halfway there! DFP Pokal (35) + Coupe de France finals (34; the final in 1992, as I'm sure you're aware since you weren't able to watch, was not played due to the collapse at the Furiani Stadium, which killed 18 people) + every Champions League (35) and UEFA Cup/Europa League (35) is another 139. So that's 402. I'm scratching my head here – what are the other 98 finals you've watched? I guess there's the Women's World Cup, Olympics (men and women), what else? Are you including youth international tournaments? Your kids' tournaments?
  16. He's worth more to us, absolutely. But just like Thiago is worth way more than £30M, his value takes a huge hit with just a year left on his contract.
  17. Doubt the club would let him leave this season. I'm guessing we'd rather lose him on a free next year than sell him for what, £15M?, this year. Even if we get Thiago we would still keep Gini, I think. Klopp slowly beds in his players and in this era where it takes upwards of 95+ points to win the league, you simply can't afford a slow start.
  18. All the more reason to bring in Thiago.
  19. I'd really forgotten what it sounds like to hear a real president speak. Holy shit that was quite the reminder.
  20. I'm not sure I could've come up with a better list of people I want to see thrown in the clink. That's just *chef's kiss*.
  21. First 10 fixtures are pretty brutal. Not sure I like starting w/ Leeds, which is a potential banana peel. Chelsea have a bunch of new players to fit into their squad, so I guess getting them early isn't a bad thing, but then Arsenal, Bitters away, City away, and Leicester makes for a pretty tough first quarter of the season.
  22. Barack was always gonna be a tough act to follow but Kamala kinda killing it right now.
