  1. The worry with Havertz imo is that he'll eventually want to go back home to Germany. Sancho doesn't have that issue and also has a chip on his shoulder re: his time at City. I also think Sancho is more versatile and fits into our 4-3-3 better than Havertz, though Havertz looks a more natural finisher.
  2. Lmao at the idea that Trump would voluntarily drop out of the race. He's going to cry election interference if he loses and spend the rest of his life whining about how he lost an illegitimate election. Hopefully that's from behind bars.
  3. Of course it won't be a "normal" transfer window (in any league) but I don't think that precludes the champions of England from buying an attacking player. Maybe Sancho is unrealistic; does Dortmund have any sort of history of selling its best players for reasonable prices?
  4. How do you figure we're skint? We spent exactly nothing last summer. Then we fucked around and won the league. We made the knockout round of CL and have the CL money from last season. That's not even factoring in the TV money. Werner wasn't an issue of money, I don't think. Not sure what happened, might've been a playing time issue or else we pulled out because we have a deal in the works for another attacker, but I would be shocked if we had no money for a front three player. As for Wilson and Bournemouth, they're getting relegated, which means he's either back on our books or we try and offload him to a promoted side. I don't know what the asking price would be for Adama Traore – I'm guessing it'd be astronomical – but damn he'd be a good fit. Perfect player to come off the bench in the 67th minute when we need a change of pace.
  5. Don't disagree on giving Jones, Hoever, and Neco a chance but I'd be really disappointed if we don't sign an attacker who can compete with the front three. At this point I feel like it has to be Sancho or bust.
  6. When you talk to Zoomers about potential veep nominees, the first words out of their mouths are "Holy shit fuck yeah Susan Rice!"
  7. Would be a little bit rude to remind him of it on every single thread for the rest of eternity. He would never do something like that.
  8. Keith Costigan and Christian Miles.
  9. Trent plays a ton of minutes though. Neco is a great option to play when he needs a rest. Really, really wish that ball he played to Salah would've led to a goal. I think Mo was trying to set up Minamino but didn't quite get it there. Would've been maybe the best of the bunch, which is really saying something. Leicester on Boxing Day aside, was that our best performance of the season? City was obviously a bigger win but I can't remember a more dominating performance.
  10. Which was the best goal today I'll go with "all of them".
  11. Anyone have a clue as to when Kentucky might be closer to announcing final results? A: June 30
  12. Hope this speculation is correct, and that Joe listens to Obama.
  13. Mount Rushmore is dumb as hell and was built on stolen land that was sacred to the Sioux. It's also just really fuckin weird. So yeah, take it down. Great idea.
  14. What percentage of time do cops sit on their ass in a Whataburger parking lot though? We desperately need to be sending first responders – who are *not* violence workers – to at least 98% of police calls.
  15. Add Milwaukee to the list of cities whose public schools have cancelled their contract w/ the police department. This has been a two-and-a-half year battle by activists, predominantly youth of color. They – like much of the abolitionist movement – have been organizing and preparing, and they were absolutely ready for this moment, which they capitalized on.
  16. Amy Klobuchar sucks so fucking much. I hope someone primaries her ass.
  17. Correct – six is our magic number (our points + City's dropped points).
  18. Putting this here before @Hank Scorpio does
  19. Decent summary, though very abbreviated, of how three different situations could be handled in a world without police as first responders: https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/17/us/us-without-police-reform-defund-trnd/index.html
  20. Milwaukee City Council has introduced a proposal to cut the police budget by 10%, and to reallocate that money ($30M) to other public health and safety programs. The proposal has 10 co-sponsors, making it 11/15 who support it.
  21. I just don't believe that's true. I think Joe will lean on his VP a lot and that she'll be steering the direction of the executive branch.
  22. Mariame Kaba was the first person I heard talk about prison abolition. This is a Times op-ed from her about literally abolishing the police; as expected, it's fantastic. Yes, We Mean Literally Abolish the Police
