  1. I really hope we get a good showing out of the refs today. Atleti and Simeone are absolute masters of the dark arts and I really do not want to see the ref indulge them in any way. I fully expect time wasting antics and other shenanigans from the opening whistle. 2-0 to the good guys, Trent on a free kick and Sadio. Lez fuggin go!
  2. I am a huge Bernie supporter and it's been a crushing week or so watching him get obliterated in the primary. That being said, I will absolutely be voting for Biden in the general (still voting Bernie in the WI primary) and hoping he wins. Then I'll be out with my pitchfork, demanding healthcare everyone in our country and real action to save our burning planet. I hate that a mush-brained old white man who barely recognizes climate change is the nominee, but there's a lot more at stake. If the left holds him accountable and stays loud and organized, I hope we can actually enact meaningful change to what's going on in our broken country. I know, I'm an idiot.
  3. Not to be a scold, but please do not post links to that shitass fucking rag in the Liverpool thread. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/mar/11/arsenal-self-isolation-postpone-game-manchester-city-premier-league-coronavirus-covid-19
  4. I know I posted about it on this thread already, and it's certainly not a new Walkmen album, but Walter Martin's new album "The World At Night" is really damn good.
  5. Are any of these endorsements gonna make a shit? I just find it hard to believe many voters who weren't already voting for Biden are going to say, "Ooh, Amy Klobuchar endorsed him!" I guess Pete and Beto probably have more sway but I am curious what kind of effect endorsements from also-rans have.
  6. I realize that being extremely online can give one the impression that Bernie's massive support is a monolith of sarcastic white dudes with neckbeards, but it's far and away the most diverse coalition of any candidate. He is easily the most popular candidate with Latinos, trails Biden by only 2% among Black voters, and is equally popular with men and women. Calling all Sanders supporters douchebags is incredibly disingenuous, and, frankly, insulting.
  7. I'll give him this – he made it a helluva lot farther than anyone would ever expect for a 38-year old gay guy whose largest vote tally in an election was just north of 8,500. I was onboard early on before I really soured on him and I will likely never vote for him the next four times he runs for president, but I guess he'd make a good Sec of State? How long until he endorses Biden?
  8. I'm very confused. What narrative?
  9. Yeah, this guy is definitely the antidote to four years of Trump and absolutely the best candidate to run against him. Well, I'm convinced – Bloomberg would be a breath of fresh centrist air and I would gladly vote for him in the general because he'd be so much more competent and a return to normalcy! MIKE WILL GET IT DONE. (Link to an article from Vanity Fair, for those of us who don't click on RT.com)
  10. Have you ever yelled at a ref after a bad call? Would you yell at that same ref in line at a coffee shop?
  11. So you're perfectly fine with the superdelegates nominating someone like Bloomberg, with 20% of the vote over Bernie's 35% plurality? Got it.
  12. Love me some Liz but I don't agree that that's a good answer. It's whataboutism – "Yeah, I support a shitty, anti-democratic idea that allows the DNC to deny the will of the electorate but so did Bernie in 2016".
  13. Watford found new life under Pearson early on but they've got 5 points since Jan 12 (6 PL matches, including a win against Bournemouth who've been awful). They also lost an FA Cup replay to Tranmere, who are currently in 21st place League One. They gave us a handful at Anfield and their burly midfield could give us problems without Henderson in there, but I don't really see them scoring.
  14. I think it was less the attack on Bernie and more the attack on the women of color, who hold some of the highest positions in Bernie's campaign. That was a rather shocking display of racism and misogyny.
  15. Previously, Aqua Buddha was saying how Bernie was unviable because he hadn't gotten over 35% of the vote in either Iowa or NH and needed to prove that he could do that. Bernie got 46.8% of the vote in so now that's no longer a talking point.
  16. How much is Medicare For All going to cost? $2,000,000,000,000 less than the clusterfuck that is our current health care system, according to right-wing think tank Mercatus Center. BuT i NeEd An ExAcT fIgUrE!!!
  17. I can't stop playing the new one from Andy Shauf, "Neon Skyline". I've really enjoyed his previous records but this one is notably good. Also loving "The World at Night" from Walter Martin (of The Walkmen) and "aloha" from Son Little.
  18. Vote blue no matter who*! *Unless a racist billionaire Republican runs as an independent against Bernie
  19. Two clever headers, two goals that probably should've been saved. Alisson's was more forgivable but you'd still expect to see him keep that out.
  20. You and @bad_teammate (and any other Bernie supporters) let me know if you need a place to stay during the DNC!
