  1. Michael Oliver, who might be the only decent ref in the Prem at the moment, gets Sunday's match. I'm shocked they didn't give it to Atkinson.
  2. Or they're leery of the way he handled the Darryl Boykins situation.
  3. I could really use the time off. Username checks out
  4. Not saying that isn't a factor but that's purely anecdotal. The better team is more likely to win over the course of 180 minutes than 90 minutes. There are plenty of examples of matches that felt like dead rubbers only to be flipped in the reverse fixtures. Ask any Liverpool fan about going into a home leg down 3-0... I think it's just as much that they think their fanbase is too ignorant of soccer standards and try to dumb it down to broaden their appeal. What they have never seemed to figure out is that lots of people who watch MLS also watch Mexican/South American/European soccer and are confused why the rules are different. And they change so often that even lots of dedicated fans don't even know what's going on.
  5. Lovren can't be risked with his injury history and City on the horizon. Happy to see Gomez and van der Berg get a run out together, and both have a lot of first-team experience considering their age. Kelleher was good vs MK Dons and has been told he'll get every Careless Cup game we play, though I could see us starting Alisson or Adrian if we make the final. Speculation that Keita and Ox will start as well, which would be great to see. I get the argument that the U-23's might be more familiar with each other but we need some older heads in there. Curious how Arsenal are going to approach the match. Obviously the lowest of their priorities but Emery is feeling a bit of heat and would love a good result.
  6. Looked unbeatable yesterday against a very good opponent. 5 goals and a clean sheet – Poch has them firing on all cylinders again.
  7. Not to be one of those guys, but Salah seems like he's been off ever since Mané's meltdown. He looks like he's making an effort to set up his teammates but he keeps making the wrong decision or is just off on his pass. Also, Ox's second might be the goal of the season for us so far. Incredible finish.
  8. Schools Are More Segregated Today Than During the Late 1960s Segregation Worse in Schools 60 Years After Brown v Board of Education Segregation Worsening in US Schools
  9. I really feel for the .07% of Americans who will be taxed $.02 per dollar while working families go broke trying to replace a set of tires or buy eyeglasses for their 3rd-grader.
  10. I'm not a Hendo hater but in games like today's, I have no idea what he brings to the table. Keita needs to be ahead of him in the pecking order. I also wish we'd play a different formation when one of our front three – Salah in particular – is out. Hindsight and all that, but Origi in the starting XI really doesn't do it for me. He's much better as an impact sub and I wish we'd have played a diamond with Keita on in his place. Frustrating game but somewhat expected. Didn't help that Atkinson was an absolute tire fire.
  11. He did. Took awhile for him to come good but damn he's been in incredible form this year.
  12. City accuse the Premier League of threatening the Premier League's "sporting integrity" with their fixture scheduling, but at least it's better than their defending of casual racism?
  13. Not that this is earth-shattering news, but Klopp announced that Alisson will be starting against the Mancs, while David DeGea has been ruled out of the match with a hamstring injury.
  14. Definitely don't go there the day before Passover @ 4:30pm to pick up pickled tomatoes and whitefish salad for your father-in-law to travel with you back to Texas. Not that I've tried that before or anything.
  15. Warren/Johnson would be a helluva ticket. Could really help carry Florida.
  16. TIL Amy Klobuchar and John Delaney are still running for president
  17. Harvey Elliott suspended 14 days for the video he posted to social media where he mocked Harry Kane.
  18. Or if he had to answer a single question about the Constitution.
  19. Ole not Gunnar work here anymore
  20. Norwich game was at Carrow Road but yeah, obviously it makes no sense to lose to them, especially after their recent results (getting smoked 5-1 at Villa, losing 2-0 to Palace, and losing 2-0 to Burnley). Wolves were due for a regression – they're not nearly as bad as their record so far – but certainly beating City away was not what anyone would've expected. Maybe Adama Traore is good?
  21. Ox has to get the start over Henderson, whose legs looked like they'd fallen off by the time he was subbed off. Would also like to see Naby get some burn w/ the full side. Wonder what kind of reception the Brodge is gonna get. I don't think there's much/any animosity toward him, especially given how close he was to delivering us a league title, but I also don't know if the crowd will be overly enthusiastic in their appreciation. He crashed and burned about as hard as you can, left the club in a bad spot with a bad squad, and he wasn't exactly gracious on his way out the door. And while I think it's a pretty harsh judgment of him, he has the reputation of being a bit of a fraud/buffoon. I still think he gets a warm reception, but I'd not be surprised if Anfield was on the tepid side in their welcome.
  22. Newcastle v Man United this weekend. Thrilling match to see who will get sacked this week.
