  1. Who's giving Biden a pass about his record? He's getting hammered on it. Tulsi is irrelevant but her anti-LGBT stuff, her Assad stuff, etc has been called out plenty. And what exactly is so bad on Liz Warren's record? (If you're going to say her claim of Native ancestry, it doesn't feel like she's getting a pass at all, but rather it's something she's owned and continues to own.) Harris has evolved, and continues to evolve. Every week she changes her views, except on her record as prosecutor, which she says she's proud of.
  2. Great news for people who like to hear her drone on about how Trump is bad and that we shouldn't try to do anything ambitious.
  3. I just don't buy that your Maddow-watching family member would abstain from voting if Warren or Bernie were the candidate.
  4. I don't disagree but I would say that any player(s) that could push the front three has to be borderline world class in order to be able to do so. I wouldn't rule out a complete surprise signing but I'm not expecting anyone of that caliber. I do think it's worth remembering that, as much as I hate the expression, Ox and Keita are almost like new signings. Ox obviously missed the entire year last year and will need some time to get back to fitness/sharpness, and Keita too is just getting back in the swing of things after AFCON and injuries, but they're both good enough to be in our first XI. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ox get some time at RB or LB at some point, assuming we don't sign anyone in those positions. Gomez is a decent option at RB but I'd much prefer he stay in the middle and develop as a CB.
  5. I like a lot of what he says here but I also laugh at the notion that $15/hour is a living wage. The left started fighting for $15/hour 10+ years ago; adjusted for inflation, it's equivalent to $17.85 in 2019. What's it gonna be six years from now, which is Pete's plan ("by 2025")?
  6. love too come up with absurdly implausible scenarios which would make me to consider not voting for Trump
  7. What, you don't think parents are entrepreneurs because they have kids?! I agree with most of what you said, but I think he came off a little bit better than you're giving him credit for – ridiculous, egregious use of "entrepreneur" aside – and I like how he explains the pending labor crisis. No one else is even talking about it.
  8. So either the cop (serving life w/out parole for quadruple homicide) was carrying out a hit or Epstein was unsuccessful in offing himself, but either way it doesn't sound like a hotel.
  9. I think they're funny as hell but more than anything they just talk a lot of shit. I do like their more substantive episodes, such as the Yang interview or interviews with activists, organizers, etc. Meneker and Biederman are some funny, smart motherfuckers though.
  10. Listened to the Andrew Yang interview on Chapo Trap House and I thought he was pretty impressive. By no means does he have my primary vote (firmly Team Warren) but I would love to see him get a cabinet seat. He doesn't have all the answers, but at least he's thinking about shit the right way.
  11. Ha, didn't recognize Aldo's and Hunter's voices. Not used to hearing them call games on TV, but it makes sense that they'd defend Mignolet on that howler.
  12. I love the comms defending Mignolet. "He really didn't do much wrong, went in off his forearm."
  13. If y'all finish the summer w/ Ndombele, Lo Celso, and Dybala that would be one helluva summer.
  14. Paul Ince is a dummy but I think his assertion that Gareth Bale could be a useful player for Liverpool is actually pretty brilliant, and I'd never given it any thought before. Obviously something has to be done about his wages, but if Real want him gone so bad why not loan him to us for a couple years and split the wages? As much as I want to see Brewster get his shot, I also worry about the opening set of fixtures when Mané, Firmino, and Salah are just getting back to sharpness. Doubt it happens but it could be pretty damn shrewd as he'd tick a lot of boxes for us.
  15. Rumors that we're in talks with Augsburg LB Phillip Max, who's valued at £20M. 25 year old German who had 13 (!) assists and 2 goals in 2017-18. Just heard of the guy but sounds like he could be the perfect backup for Robbo.
  16. Ah, gotcha. Yeah, I could see Firmino and Salah get 45 minutes, due to the 7 substitution allowance, but I'd really just like to see 90 minutes of Brewster.
  17. Plenty more you can read about here – Warren's Green Manufacturing Plan for America
  18. Her plan to tackle global climate change would be a massive economic stimulus as well. I don't know how anyone doesn't see the potential in that, nevermind the whole saving the human species thing.
