  1. Don't necessarily disagree, but I think it would be a monumental waste of her talents. She brings a lot to the ticket – experience, policy wonk, bold progressive ideas, she's a woman, etc – but I would prefer her as a vocal senator in a Dem majority, as someone else posted upthread.
  2. This guy is like the Paul Bunyan of politicians. He's unreal.
  3. A good barometer of whether or not something is pervy is asking if he'd have done that to a man. Pretty sure Biden wouldn't have smelled another dude's hair before kissing him on the head. Don't care if it's a generational thing.
  4. Not quite as catchy as "runnin' down the wing" imo
  5. Two months ago no one had even heard of him. He's now the rising star among the Dem nominees. He's not afraid to talk about bold ideas – and I'm 100% confident he will outline very good specific policy when the time is right. But he has to worry about getting his name out there and capitalizing on this momentum, rather than talking about wonky policy specifics.
  6. Disappointing to Buttheads, probably, but perhaps better for general exposure to the uninitiated?
  7. Dear God he DID NOT criticize Andrew Cuomo?!?
  8. This is a good point and good perspective. Still hoping he also gets hooked for the whole "architect of human misery" part.
  9. Countdown to kickoff is going painfully slow. The last 10 minutes has felt like an hour.
  10. Sure it's NYC but IMO, that's still not bigger than the greatest player of all-time* winning his hometown's first championship in > 50 years. The Knicks have always been pretty hapless, but the entire city of Cleveland has been a collective loser forever.
  11. Also never going to happen, but I'd like to see Keita get the start. Not sure what he did to deserve getting benched after a pretty good run of form, but he's the kind of player who is much better from the start than he is as a sub. The opposite is true for Shaqiri, who seems to thrive in a sub's role. Can't imagine it's a midfield trio of anything but Hendo, Gini, and Fabinho.
  12. Biden will be labeled as the guy who can "win the moderates", only to go on and get zero votes from the #NeverTrump Republicans while failing to turn out anyone under 65.
  13. Since his announcement – I hadn't heard of him prior to watching his launch video – I've been talking about him to everyone who will listen. Recently I've been getting random texts from those people "I'm really liking this mayor from South Bend", which is great to hear. With Pete, it's all about people getting exposure to him. His ideas a fresh, bold, and he's easily the best communicator of anyone running. He needs to be on the debate stage.
  14. Just donated to Mayor Pete.
  15. Her opposition to Medicare For All and the Green New Deal already made Klobuchar a nonstarter.
  16. Me before he announced: "kinda really don't want him to run" Me after he announced: "FUCK YES!!!"
  17. Tomorrow's games look fun as hell.
  18. I'd like someone like Gillibrand to put Kavanaugh's impeachment on the table, if only to move the Overton window.
  19. Love me some Pete. Having a hard time deciding between him and Warren as my preferred candidate but I haven't heard him talk yet without getting goosebumps.
  20. Soundtrack is pitch perfect tbh
  21. I blame The Onion for whatever goodwill that Joe Biden gets from the left. Seriously, fuck that guy.
  22. I thought he was a little tough on him but Buttigieg handled himself well. Hayes seems genuinely intrigued by him and I think it's helpful in the long run to not get softball questions tossed his way. Thought Pete came across really well. Still a lot to learn about him but so far so good.
