  1. A supposedly reliable Italian source (Fabrizio Romano) reporting that we've made a €70M + add-ons offer for Alisson, and that Roma is holding out for €75. "Talks ongoing" but Chelsea have not made another bid. Obviously we've been burned more than once in the past in this type of situation (Salah, Willian come to mind) but everything I've read has us as his preferred choice. We're apparently offering higher wages and there's obviously the whole playing in Champions League thing. Just get this damn deal done, finalize Fekir, and grab Dembele from Barca.
  2. Really? Seems strange to ship him out. Not that he's anything special but a solid contributor and seems to be well liked by Klopp. I guess we've got a fair number of central midfielders but I don't really get this rumored move...
  3. Still need another attacker, a GK, and ideally another CB, but damn, the group of incoming signings is going to make us a helluva lot better. Our bench will be phenomenal, and I can't remember the last time that was the case. The other issue that needs to get sorted is the outgoing players. Any of Mignolet, Sturridge, Grujic, Origi, and even Clyne could be shipped out. I'm guessing it's another loan spell for both Grujic and Origi, and Sturridge is useful enough to have around for the four games he's not on the physio table. And shit, Migs might even go into the season as our #1 GK. Basically, there's a lot of business to be done and not a ton of time left.
  4. Awesome, happy to help. Should be a good time in Charlotte.
  5. For those of you heading to Charlotte, a friend of mine put together a pretty thorough guide for that weekend: LFC in Charlotte – schedule, map, and other useful info
  6. Fekir apparently met w/ Aulas at the WC and pleaded to revive talks w/ Liverpool. Sounds like this one's gonna get done.
  7. They're coming in thick and fast now... Yarmolenko to West Ham, Guendouzi to Arsenal Liverpool "confident" of signing Shaqiri
  8. Belgium v Croatia would be my ideal final, ensuring we'd see a new country win it. They've also both been pretty damn good from the word go, even though France is the most talented team. England has overachieved a bit and while I could see them just edging out Croatia, I don't see them winning it all. Really fun set of semis and it's sure to set up a great final, at least on paper. This has been a helluva tournament.
  9. Mahrez off to Citeh for £60M England's best midfielder joins West Ham on a 3-year deal
  10. Great signing. He's a nasty little dude.
  11. Pulisic had 4 goals and 5 assists last season. Sterling had 18 goals and 11 assists.
  12. Read the Dybala rumors yesterday – based mostly on the premise of Ronaldo to Juve, yeah? Obviously it's a long shot and it would be hard to imagine Liverpool splashing the requisite cash to land Dybala – Transfermarkt has him north of £100 – but holy shit would that be fun.
  13. Lots of talk about Harry Wilson "ready to prove himself" in the first team. 7 goals + 3 assists in under 1,000 minutes while on loan at Hull last season is nothing to sneeze at. He's absolutely wrecked shit at every youth/reserves level. He's 21 years old and it feels like it's a bit now or never for him at Liverpool this season. I guess I could see a loan to a Prem club but assuming Shaqiri and Fekir come in, I'd be more than happy to have Wilson as our 4th-choice winger. With Salah and Mané on vacay for the next month or so, he'll have pre-season to prove that he's worth keeping around. Hope he can get the job done – it'd be nice to have another player come through the system and break into the first team.
  14. All-time favorite: Luis Suarez All-time least favorite: Paul Scholes, Rio Ferdinand, Gary & Phil Neville, Patrice Evra, Wayne Rooney, Mikel Silvestre, Nani, Wes Brown, John O'Shea, Zlatan Ibrahimovic Least favorite manager: Sir Alex Current favorite: Bobby Firmino Current least favorite: Alexis Sanchez
  15. Hope he spends the rest of his life rotting away in a jail cell.
  16. Colombia and Senegal advancing would be the most entertaining by far, but as stated above, Poland ain't doin' shit. They look USA '98 bad. Vamos los Cafeteros!
  17. (In before qp) Sounds like Shaqiri is nearly wrapped up. I don't hate the deal at all. He's a massive upgrade over the bench options we had available in the CL final and as evidenced whenever he puts on the Swiss shirt, he can be a fantastic player when motivated. I also like that he's a fiery dude who doesn't mind getting chippy; the eagle celebration vs. Serbia was fantastic. I certainly hope we have another attacker or two in the works – Fekir still seems likely – but for the price I think Shaqiri would be a great signing.
  18. Danny Ings set for Anfield exit Obviously you have to feel for the guy. Not sure he ever would've made a big impact, even without the horrible injuries, but either way it's good for everyone to move on. According to that article, he's attracted interest from Inter, RB Leipzig, and Leverkusen, but I'm pretty sure he'll end up at Fulham or something.
  19. Apparently the Argies are so pissed at Sampaoli that they're being consulted on the lineup. So, yeah. Nigeria 3-1 Argentina.
  20. England's best midfielder is having a helluva World Cup.
  21. Atletico has made it out of the group stage 4 of the last 5 years, including a quarterfinal, a semifinal, and two finals appearances.
  22. Think you're getting Rhian Brewster instead. NTTAWT.
  23. LFC sign first-team striker today – Rhian Brewster. Glad to see him staying at the club. All the talent in the world and a very good head on his shoulders. Klopp is not one to mess with a player's career and make false promises; if he said he's got a future here in the first team, he's gonna see the field sooner than later.
  24. So the latest rumors have Alisson off to Madrid and us linked with Napoli's Thomas Strakosha. No idea the veracity of any of that, all I know is it's a bitch to deal with Napoli. Strakosha is a big 23-year old Albanian. Feels more like a Karius than an Oblak, and I don't think any of us want any uncertainty in our next GK, but I also don't see Oblak actually happening.
  25. Approximately 63% of the fee that Lyon wants for Fekir.
