  1. I’m in the Wout Van Aert camp on that sprint finish. You can’t take that line in track cycling or sprint finishes unless you work for Legion.
  2. Would have been fun to watch Remco shake it up. Jumbo team is strong so I think Vingegaard has the edge. And his tour de suisse shows he has the legs.
  3. I'm a doctor and I don't even know how the billing works. Plus the few times I have needed and used healthcare my employer/hospital just doesn't bill insurance as a favor and dissolves the payment (technically illegal) and surgeon and anesthesiologist didn't ever bill me. It's a broken system.
  4. Looks sick for skis and mountain bikes.
  5. Try this one https://www.abercrombiekent.com/cruises They do a nice safari
  6. Once you are over there trains are cheap. As can be the beer and food. The Friday train from Prague to Vienna was like a rolling football tailgate. You can bring your own booze and lots of parties. It was like the heart of darkness walking from train car to train car to get the bar. Only to find the beer had run out.
  7. Also as said before there are great wineries but with kids Carter's Mountain is a better option. Great views, orchard on the mountain. More family oriented than a winery. If you are there Friday night downtown Charlottesville has a pedestrian mall with free concerts every Friday.
  8. Charlottesville has a great food scene. I would make reservations especially if you are there on a weekend as it is a popular weekend destination. I like The Local, Oakhart Social, Brassaire Saison, Orzo. I lived there for a few years and it changed my life for the better (special place). For breakfast go to Bodo's Bagels (the line moves fast).
  9. Also rode bikes around Vienna and would recommend Baden as it seems like a nice resort town not far from the city. This is their casino.
  10. At the halfway point. Full report to follow but in Prague Mlýnec was fantastic dining. In Vienna Strandcafe on a floating deck outdoor restaurant on the damed part of the Danube (New Danube on Wikipedia) was great for schnitzel. The locals there get ribs that looked good but we have that in spades in Texas so I got schnitzel and European Budweiser which is not bad. I am surprised the Trip Advisor reviews are terrible but mostly for service and I suspect that can happen when such a large restaurant is packed on a nice day. I would recommend checking out that area in general as well. You can also rent your own floating bar.
  11. You all have me excited, be there in a little over a week. I haven't been out of the country in over a decade so seeing this part of Europe will be cool.
  12. I'm learning so much on this thread. Including that I meant fiancee.
  13. Thanks for all this solid advice 956! I think you sold me on Brevnov Monastery. I agree it is 3 cities but we are staying with friends and family in Vienna and Budapest so that was the genesis of this trip. I would love to hit up the Austrian Alps but the weather in May is probably a bit dicey. I will be getting out on a bike in Austria with a family friend so that should be cool.
  14. Hitting up Prague, Vienna, Budapest in a few weeks. Recs on Prague restaurants and such would be cool. My fiancé (no pics) is from Budapest so I got that part down and can share insights for those going later this summer when I’m back. She said thermal baths are for tourists but I said nonsense and am packing a banana hammock.
  15. I’m planning on Asheville Grand Fondo. Climbing is legit.
  16. Charlottesville was mentioned earlier and not getting enough love. 2 hours from DC if you need big city activities or pro sports. Mountains nearby. Good food scene. ACC country so no one cares if you root for Texas. Thinking Durango will be my next move.
  17. Always a good time on Skyline drive.
