  1. Quinn has set a very high standard for himself by playing REALLY well in some big games. (Both Alabama games, Michigan, B12 Championship & 49-0) He hasn't lived up to that standard over the last two games. Not close. You know it, Sark knows it, he knows it. Everyone fucking knows it. The story isn't written on his career yet. No one will care about any of this if he wins the national championship this year. I can totally understand being skeptical of his ability to bounce back from this, but Quinn seems like a good kid and I hope he gets his body & his head right and turns this thing around for us. Let's fucking go Horns! Shake it the fuck off, we're still in this thing. 🤘
  2. First off, I’m with you. 🤘 I didn’t intend to foster a defeatist mindset in this thread. Dealing with losses is just an important part of being a fan. I have no idea how the rest of the season will play out, and neither does anyone else. I think our team last year was excellent, and I suspect this year they are even better. The team didn’t play up to its own standard, but shit happens. Hopefully that’s motivation for them to improve the rest of the way.
  3. Hope springs eternal with each new college season. Every year we have dreams dancing in our head, "If we could only get to that Nth win" -- "If we could just win the conference" -- "If we could just make the playoff" -- "If we could win the national championship". Some years these dreams are more realistic than others. More years than not, reality does come a knocking. It's that time of year, our first loss of the season. In the 132nd season of Texas football, it's only NOT happened 9 times. (2005, 1969, 1963, 1920, 1918, 1914, 1900, 1895 & 1893) In six seasons, our first loss came the last game of the season! (2009, 1983, 1977, 1970, 1913 & 1894) This pain is visceral, like a punch to the gut or a bad burrito. I felt it when we were down 23-0 at half time. I felt it again when we failed to hold them on 3rd and 10 backed up against their own end zone late in the third quarter. The crowd was electric, deafening at that moment. The air just got sucked out of the stadium with the 21 yard completion. It hit hard and with finality when Quinn Ewer's 4th down completion stopped 2 yards shy of the first down with 5 minutes left to go. We lost. We got humiliated at home. One of the biggest losses by a #1 team, at home, in history. I'm not going to tell you that loss shouldn't hurt. In fact, I'm celebrating the hurt. It hurts because we love the game. We love the spectacle, the poetry and the brutality. We love Texas Longhorn Football. We share the pain of thousands of fans before us felt the 123 other times that first loss of the season tarnished our dreams. So, if you like, share some of those painful memories of games you attended or just have stuck in your mind over the years. Keep dreaming big. Hook 'em Horns 🤘
  4. The wings worked out pretty well! That was me and @elfenix thanks for an amazing tailgate!
  5. Georgia 13 Texas 45 Georgia with 252 yards of total offense. 🤘
  6. In this hypothetical match-up, Russian air defense would be 95% destroyed in two weeks and then we would be absolutely mauling them from the air. Yes, NATO would have to dramatically ramp up arms production, but you are talking about World War 3, so assuming the nukes don't fly, I think they could pull that off.
  7. He really didn't look like himself that game. I suspect he is still dealing with pain. Hopefully will continue to heal this week and be 100% for Georgia.
  8. Worth watching again. (and again)
  9. Bijan had himself a nice game with 95 yards on 15 carries with 2 touchdowns. 🤘
  10. Let Kirby coach, it matters not. We are going to handle those dawgs next weekend. I don't want the SEC complaining about how they would have beat us if they only had Kirby at the helm.
  11. But still not as much as OU sucks.
  12. I feel like it's been a quiet few days in Ukraine. Is this a good thing? Bad Thing? Just a sign of the summer campaigning season winding down?
  13. I'm excited and nervous about this game. I feel like this is our first big test of the season (with the way Michigan has looked so far) On paper, and even just the season vibes so far says Texas should win and cover. However, as has been said time and time again this is a rivalry game and some squirrelly shit has been known to happen. We need to start strong and don't stop stomping until they are a thin, pink paste.
  14. Ewers gets the start, Tuddies trigger all oldies, Longhorns dominate.
  15. Texas 48 OU 13 Rushing: UT: 197 OU: 96 Difference: 101
  16. Could we get a transcript of this 🙏 stuck at the paywall.
  17. Happy belated birthday to Jimmy Carter, a great American and by all accounts a profoundly decent & honorable man. I hope he lives long enough to see the inauguration of our next president. I hope that day brings him joy.
  18. Some possible explanations for this: 1. "American Officials" are thinking "They have their own long range missiles and drones to hit these targets now, why poke the bee hive unnecessarily" (BTW, do you think we helped them develop/manufacture these new homemade toys?) 2. "American Officials" are privy to specific threats from Russia that haven't been made public. (like we'll cut undersea cables, and maybe you could stop us but then we'd have an active sub war going on) 3. "American Officials" are, to put it gently, being overly cautious with Russian "red lines". I mostly lurk here, many of you seem very knowledgeable on the subject - I'm interested in your thoughts on this.
