honestly, tampons in bathrooms are a great way to plug a bullet wound so I can definitely see them having a place in all American bathrooms

Actually, it's not true. Tampons may absorb the blood, but they do nothing to stop the bleeding. Plugging a bullet wound with a tampon may prevent the wound from making a mess on the floor, but you will still bleed out. We need to be teaching our elementary age kids proper battlefield first aid.

I'm just going to observe that, even assuming that the necklace did cost $62,000, her husband was a fucking partner at DLA Piper.
Yeah--I think he can afford to buy his wife some nice bling.
Isn't that the MAGA model, a white dude supporting his wife financially?

It is my understanding that a retirement visa in Thailand doesn't allow you to leave and reenter the country. In order to reenter Thailand under a retirement visa you need to get a re-entry permit. I don't know how much of a hassle this creates though.

Obviously adding UT and OU to the SEC has diluted the week in and week out grind of the schedule

Speaking of representational choices involving Pennsylvania - in the leadup to the 1964 election against McClellan, Lincoln knew that the support of Pennsylvania and Germans in particular was critical to victory, and chose to promote an immigrant Prussian soldier and Pennsylvanian (and incidentally, a communist) named Alexander Schimmelfennig, despite him being scapegoated in the press for heavy losses at Chancelorsville and accused of cowardice at Gettysburg for sort of laying low at a house in town for a couple of days until things quieted down.

It may be a chickenshit idea, it is a funeral after all. But if I were Israel, I would have sent about three cruise missiles as condolences. It would have taken out most of the high ranking Hezbollah command structure as well as high ranking officials from any country that is sympathetic with both Hezbollah and Hamas. If the shoe was on the other foot, neither terrorist organization would miss that opportunity if they had the weaponry to pull it off.
CHIEF
Wouldn’t that make the U.S. a state sponsor of terrorism so we would have to sanction ourselves

Depending on your perspective, that could be a column

As should everyone, but I'm willing to bet there are more than a few teachers in Oklahoma who publicly advocated for the assassination of Obama and or Biden.

2024 Hurricane Season thread of DOOM
in Daily Texan
Posted
Editorial in the Chronicle today says that the $800 million generators that CenterPoint never used during the hurricane outages (which cost each customer $2.87 each month in cost recovery) may be the result of a rigged bid process due to an affair by CenterPoint’s prior CEO.
