The best thing for the country is for the Republican Party to shed the MAGA wing.
The best thing would be for the GOP to finally break up into it smaller more ideologically driven parties.
- Nazi/xenophobe/fascists
- Christian Nationalists (aka american taliban)
- End Stage Capitalists
Have those parties compete on their own merits for a chance to govern. GQP is only still a thing because each of those groups have no better alternative. So we are seeing them fight for their own twisted take on rotting corpse of Reagan/Nixon

My grandma used to rinse plastic wrap and stick it to the side of the refrigerator to dry and re-use it later. I asked my folks why and they said she learned it during the great depression.
I'm gonna go with no.
PSA Have a Breville countertop convection oven that we used all the time. Easier and faster than heating up the main oven. Well it's finally on its way out after 15+ years of daily use. Just happened upon The Breville BOV900SS at TJmaxx for $300... normally $450 ymmv

Congrats
That was an ass kicking. Score not nearly reflective of the domination. UK looked good (except the drops) but Gata program is in the shitter.

There's a whole ceremony to Neptune. And you have to remove all traces of the old name from the boat. And pour some champagne out to Neptune. We did it about 8-9 years ago.
Just got to Cat. First time in over a year. Much needed.
Welp, there's always the yacht club way to do things. Which if you can include a boozy brunch and chicks in sundresses, I'm all for it. But my exposure to these "traditions" was from crusty commercial guys who didn't want their leg tangled in the lead line and to be dragged off a dory out at sea. No mention of Poseidon or champagne, they just wanted full boxes of speckled trout and to keep all their fingers.

The only Neptune/Poseidon ceremony I know is for the first tome you cross the equator. Have to eat a nasty concoction of whatever the crew comes up with.
The navy guys can tell you stories about getting their shellback. Not for the faint of heart if the stories are to be believed.

Never heard the banana one. I do recall on a dive boat in the BVI, got sick (way too hung over to be diving), and found out the best way to treat a hangover is with an ice cold banana. It even tasted great on the way back up. Captain had a stock of them in a cooler by the helm.
That's crazy talk right there.

Nobody was talking about how much the shot hurt. What kind of pussy thinks shots hurt?
Well the shot itself didn't hurt, but the Shingles Vax put a hurting on me. It's kinda infamous for being shitty.
That said, EVERYONE says shingles sucks, so I was happy to get the vax and deal with side effects

Just ran across this one on eBay. Unfortunately someone added a middle pickup and another switch. Starting bid is $955, auction ends tomorrow. Buy It Now is $1800 lol.

Are we talking galleons, clippers and other ships, or fiberglass powerboats? Because no, in all my hundreds of thousands of sea miles I have never heard don't rename a boat.
Hell, I don't think most people name boats in the first place.
oh man I thought this was very common knowledge. Only way to change the name without bad luck is to run aground 3 times (rubbing the old name off) or for sailboats managing to sail backwards for a boat length.
I don't think most folks give it much thought if any, but yeah renaming a boat is right up there with taking bananas fishing.

One mistake that I made, is that I sent my kids to a smallish all magnet school (very highly ranked nationally). Wonderful school, great environment, great kids, but an absolute nightmare for class ranking for my smart but distracted kids. If they had gone to any other high school in our area their ranking would have been easily top 5%. I'm convinced that it hurt my son with his college choices. He did not get into his reach schools and didn't get into his target school (gata). If he had gone to a large high school not packed with ringers I'm convinced it would have been different. Maybe not, but we were not the only ones SHOCKED that he didn't get in. 4.95gpa, 1500 sat (first and only attempt), 4 yr dual sport athlete, debate club, etc... class rank top 3rd (sad trombone) It's competitive out there.

There are already batteries on most boats, Captain Dipshit. They may not yet power the engine, but most other functions are controlled via battery. Kinda like your car's interior . It is literally impossible he's this fucking stupid. No with a regular boat, if the boat starts sinking you are surrounded by gasoline and oil. Which could catch fire amd kill you, with the hypothetical evil electic boat the electric battery sinks into the abyss killing all the whales believe you me, tremendously, bigly.
sorry for the diversion, but if your boat is on fire the gas and oil are the last thing you need to worry about. That stuff is usually below the waterline. It might catch after a while, but you wouldn't want to hang around till that happened. Basically everything on a boat is petroleum based or flammable. Point her into the wind, walk to the bow and figure the best way to gtfo(ff) of that soon to be flaming/toxic hellscape.
Also the ocean is basically one huge ass all encompassing negative terminal so you'd have to work pretty hard to electrocute yourself with a submerged battery, if it's even possible at all.

I do imagine that this judgment, and the associated ordered dissolutions would probably trigger loan covenants entitling many lenders to foreclose. But, as you note, that would probably not be a wise thing for lenders to do, as it rarely is in big commercial lending scenarios.
If you owe the bank $100 that's your problem. If you owe the bank $100 million, that's the bank's problem.

If you didn’t like Deion when he was in the league it’s because racism. If, somehow, your racism allowed you to like other black players at that time it’s only because they were code switching for your benefit. Everyone knows this.
