  1. I don't know much about this, but doesn't France claim a portion of Guyana? And by claim, I meant treat it as a part of France. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_Guiana
  2. How do you propose to prevent side fumbling?
  3. Top Secret was a funny movie, but not a good movie. I'll also add North Shore
  4. Oh btw, the stadium is just about always open, you can walk right in. You'll see folks working out running the stairs. When there was artificial turf you could walk onto the field too. There was a big F instead of the Gator head. People used to sneak in at night and F on the F or so I'm told, I totally wouldn't know anything about that, like at all.
  5. '89-93 Lived in Rawlings Hall first year. It was NOT airconditioned. But you get to know a lot of people when everyone has their windows and doors propped open. It was like one big house with 100s of other freshman. Also make sure he stops by Lake Alice. There are real gators on campus.
  6. Nickle beer night when I was there and you could get the tray shot too. I lived across from the death wall so it was an easy walk home ... from a distance standpoint only
  7. Perhaps, but wasted freshmen will never know the joy of hopping on an old school bus and getting carted off to a 24hr diner that has a 30min wait at 2AM. Then you get seated and there is a band playing kids songs and the whole restaurant is singing Puff the Magic Dragon. That does not exist and it's a tragedy. Also the student ghetto looks very corporate now. RIP Burrito Brothers Leonardos Skeeters Balls Copper Monkey Joe's Deli Iveys Rocky Rococco (Chain) CJ's
  8. No, He is able to all of this because gop leadership after the 1/6 insurrection didn't want to take a hard L so they made statements that Trump was done and would/could never lead the party again, so impeachment was just a dem victory lap in their minds. Shocker! They lied. Trump was on the outs for a year before they returned to him, hat in hand, to kowtow and suckle his orange power teets.
  9. They'll do what Trump tells them to do. He is the heart and soul of the gop.
  10. I was in G'ville during the murders. 0/5 stars
  11. I'll defer to others here, I haven't been on campus in a couple of years. A lot has changed. I know a couple of kids in school there now and they are loving it. Admission is very competitive. Culturally, Gainesville is/was a liberal bastion surrounded by deep deep red "old south" Florida. If they have a grandparent that lives in FL they can get instate tuition rates. Like everywhere else, a lot of the small local restaurants have been replaced with chains. Have a pizza at Satchels ... it's a 10 min drive from campus, but it's got the old G'ville vibe.
  12. You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know... Fox news enjoyers
  13. The visiting team has a buffer of their fans behind their benches. IIRC Otherwise opposing teams are just assigned a section. Up in a corner in my experience.
  14. I read plenty, just not as much as I'd like. I didn't enjoy or connect with it at all. I'm glad you enjoyed it, perhaps try not being an asshole?
  15. I also read all of Clavell's books. King Rat remains the worst book I've ever read. I only finished it because I had read all the others. I hate that book.
  16. Take the metro to Abbess and take the stairs instead of the elevator... good times. Paris is the city of lights stairs

    Wine

I present you with ... aka Cougar Crack 14.5% and way too easy drinking.
  18. Normally I'd recommend hiring a guide directly, but Context Tour of Muse D'Orsay was fantastic. 5/5 https://www.contexttravel.com/cities/paris/tours/musee-dorsay-tour-crash-course IMHO a tour at the grand museums will vastly improve your experience. Pay experts for their knowledge and passion. You will see things at the museum you would not find or know about in a lifetime of just wondering around looking at placards. In the Louvre skip the Mona Lisa Disney like line. I'd just walk by the passage to the left and take a glance as you walk by. You'll get about as close and even if you wait in line, it's not like you get to stop and take a look anyway... they keep the cattle moving. Where to stay in Paris? we loved staying on Ile Saint-Louis (and more generally you want stay closer to Notre Dame, or at least so I've been told)

    Wine

I always just assumed it was an allergy getting triggered. French/Italian wines no problem at all, most California wines = stuffy nose and a bad headache. For me I think I'm allergic to American oak and/or it's something they're using to clear the wine.
  20. Fair enough... I saw the movie at an old fashion theatre and the marquee had it listed as 100s not Hundreds... so I guess that's on me. But google it either way and you're in business.
  21. One of things I really enjoy is just sitting down to a movie and being told a story with zero knowledge. I could tell you about the plot, the art style, and the production. But I think it's better to just get a recommendation and go with it. If you need more Google is always there.
  22. Sure, but a fairly unique small budget non MCU movie getting some love isn't the worst thing is it? Maybe just throw it in with the mass market MCU bullshit that we keep getting force fed. Watch, don't watch, I don't really care... Just a recommendation
