We obviously already know this, but it's interesting research.
Japanese researchers have claimed two "Putin doubles"
Japanese experts in facial recognition and voice identification have concluded that the theory of Vladimir Putin's doubles, who replace him at public events, is gaining popularity. This information was published by the British tabloid The Sun.
By analyzing Putin's various speeches with the use of modern artificial intelligence technology, Japanese experts have concluded that the Russian president probably has at least two doubles.
One of the doubles was identified as the "real" Putin, who attended the Red Square parade in May 2023. After comparing the facial features of this Putin with the one who drove across the Crimean Bridge in a Mercedes car in December 2022, the Japanese experts found only 53% similarity.
An even smaller resemblance, just 40%, was found between the "parade Putin" and the president who visited Mariupol in March 2023. Videos on state television showed this Putin driving through the ruined city, touring the construction site of an apartment complex, talking to residents, and visiting what was said to be a three-room apartment while giving instructions to Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.
The similarity between Putin's facial features in Mariupol and Putin on the Crimean Bridge was only 18%, according to Japanese researchers. Their artificial intelligence-based analysis "clearly indicates" the likelihood of at least two Putin doubles.

So already some good is coming out of all of all this
Trump supporter indicted for threatening Fulton County D.A. and sheriff
An Alabama man has been indicted for making alleged threats against officials in Fulton County, Georgia, involved in the arrest and prosecution of former President Donald Trump.
A federal grand jury in Atlanta has indicted 59-year-old Arthur Ray Hanson II on charges of transmitting interstate threats to injure Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and Fulton County Sheriff Patrick Labat over their connection to the arrest and prosecution of the former president. Trump's trial over alleged efforts to overturn the presidential election result in Georgia will take place next year.
Hanson made his first appearance in federal court in Huntsville, Alabama, and will be arraigned in Atlanta next month.
Prosecutors say Hanson called the Fulton County government customer service line twice on Aug. 6, 2023, leaving two voicemails — the first for Labat and the second for Willis.
"If you think you gonna take a mugshot of my President Donald Trump and it's gonna be ok, you gonna find out that after you take that mugshot, some bad [expletive]'s probably gonna happen to you," Hanson allegedly said in his message intended for the sheriff. "... I'm warning you right now before you [expletive] up your life and get hurt real bad."
In his messages for Willis, Hanson allegedly told her to "watch everywhere that you're going" and "there's gonna be moments when you're gonna be vulnerable," among other things.
Federal officials who investigated the case stressed the seriousness of the charges.
"Threats against public servants are not only illegal, but also a threat against our democratic process," said Keri Farley, Special Agent in Charge of FBI Atlanta. "The FBI's mission is to protect the American people and uphold the Constitution. We take this responsibility very seriously and seek to punish those who engage in this type of criminal behavior, and to send the message that such conduct will not be tolerated."
Multiple individuals charged in the sprawling Fulton County case have now accepted guilty pleas, including Jenna Ellis and Sidney Powell.

It's harder to win when your defense no longer has the other teams' signs and can anticipate what play is about to be run.

Why wouldn't Ivanka just parrot him then?
so he goes to jail and she doesn't have to slurp mushroom soup once a week.

The upside of all this is going to be the fan reaction. Looking forward to the Game Day takes... In before "Harbaugh stole my other signs"
Well, that and the results of the FBI investigation.

Listen my point is to use US (and hopefully her allies) soft power to foment change in Russia/Russian policy. The fat cats have left the hard life in Russia to the poor and are living large in the US, Europe, Asia free from care that they have horrible neo colonial policies. Freeze their assets, send them back and you will have a monied, educated, and westernized group that is pissed off. Let them work for change if they don't want to be treated as a pariah. Why should we spend US blood and treasure keeping Russian aggression in check, whilst rolling out the red carpet for their citizens to enjoy.
Or maybe I'm reading that all wrong and these are Putin's boys who live a life of luxury abroad due to Russia's autocratic/ criminal economic practices. In which case, seems like a good move booting them out.

So I used to work with a Russian lady. I have no clue if she is here working on a visa, is a resident alien, or is now a citizen. Let’s say for this case she’s not a citizen. Her husband is Ukrainian, they have a small child, and are hosting the husband’s parents who fled ukraine at the start of the war. She needs to be deported?
or does “foreign nationals” carry a specificity that I’m unfamiliar?
of course it does... in the context of my post it means russian assholes
If you want me to create a response to an act of war that is universally fair and considers every possible hypothetical and magically discerns the wicked from the fair... you might not have been paying close attention to this branch of the simulation code.
So, if you are a Russian foreign national, your legal status to remain in the country has been revoked, by actions of your country! Is it fair, IDK was the hypothetical attack on the US fair?
Heck I thought they should be rounded up and deported to the nearest country to the US that would welcome them in. You know, Toussaint Louverture International.

Depends on who is POTUS when that happens. And you know I'm not exaggerating, no CR.
What would be APPROPRIATE? A measured response by NATO. If there's a Russian air attack on a base in Lithuania, for example, NATO should strike the base from which the attack was launched.
- Deport all Russian foreign nationals
- Seize assets of those Russian foreign nationals in US
- Revoke all Russian student visas
- Go scorched earth on sanctions. Us corps trading with Russia tried and if found guilty are dissolved. Managers of those corps charged to the fullest extent of the law. Foreign corps who trade with Russia face asset seizure and ability to operate in the US. Officers (and their family members) of those corporations are fully excluded from travel to US.
- Extend sanctions to other countries dealing with Russia
- Embargo Russia's oil/CNG
- Military strikes of proportionate size

We know folks like you. Sugar in the bbq sauce kind of folks. Even the French don’t eat a fucking hamburger with fucking brioche. No one knew what brioche was a couple years ago. Now WalMart has a all kinds of brioche shit. Brioche flavored shave cream next to the pumpkin spice.- I bet your bbq sauce (without sugar) sucks
- The French eat burgers with a knife and fork so maybe leave them out of the bun conversation
- What?
- Dove bar soap > any shaving cream
