I like the glossy fretboard on my Tele, but that may be due to the frets being so smooth that my mind is confusing the smooth glide over the frets with the smoothness coming from the glossy fretboard.
The frets just seem better than the ones of my budget guitar buys and the Fender strings s em to be better than the other strings I’ve put on other guitars (D’Addario Nickel Wound XL120 9/42).
In general, really happy with the purchase.
I bought the Adorama Lake Placid Strat for my son several years ago. I always wondered why the Adorama version was so much cheaper than other Player Series Guitars. His is not heavy and played great right out of the box. I heavily considered buying the Lake Placid Blue Tele from Adorama at the old price. But just didn't pull the trigger because I wasn't sure I'd end up playing it much so I decided to wait and snap up a cheap used guitar instead.
But if I hadn't already bought something, I would roll the dice and snap that Tele version up.

Interesting how casually he treats his guitars and apparently how often they get their equipment stolen.

Not the best technical singer... but she stops me in my tracks whenever I hear her. Instantly recognizable, iconic, talented, and fierce

Still have the same rig I got when I bought my first house. We had nothing but the keys and an older house that needed a lot of work. First thing I bought was the stereo. I figured we would be listening to music a lot while we painted and did other house projects. Then I bought some plastic stacking chairs and a mattress.
Klipsch KG5.5s
Yamaha Natural Sound Receiver RX-v670
Yamaha CD player
My taste in music and the ways I listen has changed but they still sound good (not audionerd amazing) but still damned good.
Years later I added a sub, center and surrounds and now it's what I use for home theatre.
At some point, if they ever falter, I'll upgrade the tweeters and crossovers to Crites and do some internal bracing. I suspect one of my kids will end up with them when they get a place of their own if they want them.
Replacements will be B&W805s or handed down Klipsch Cornwalls & some earplugs

Would like to go to see SP, did they play the mostly older stuff or sis they try to promote newer material? Asking because I cannot connect with the new stuff at all. And they have a lot of "new" stuff. (2000+)

Damon had a friend at Gibson and he arranged for the custom green color. I think it might have actually be a refinishing when the guitar was in for a repair but don't quote me on that.
I googled it and was thinking if they have a tribute I'm buying it. Then I saw that it was a '59 Honeyburst and none of the pics looked remotely like the one posted. Hence the question. If it was re-finished green, that makes a lot more sense.

So I went to that Toadies Concert with some friends and our late teen kids (17, 19, 19) ... Some thoughts
- Toadies are a really good live act to see live
- It was a "sea of Dads"
- The teens enjoyed it but they were the only ones under 40 there by a LONG shot
- The teens geeked out on Horton Heat with the standing bass
- Lots of pot, lots of booze and a sold out show
- HH playing Ace of Spades (to my great shame, my "god son" had never heard the song) The energy changed and the kids felt it
- Backslider and I Burn with the electric acoustic where the peak of the show.
- Shout out to the legend in the old Bad Brains concert T

I’ve watched most all of Georgia’s games since I live in Georgia. They did not look that impressive against Missouri, Kent State, and Florida. All of those games were well within reach during the second half. I think Tennessee takes this one.
If 10rc can stop the run, there is NO WAY Stetson Bennet can keep up with the Ten offense. Make him make throws against man coverage.

Ok 2 things....
1) With the exchange rate.... shop for guitars at places in the UK. You won't pay vat, the exchange rate is good, and you won't pay US tax.... so it's cheap. Exploit the globalism.
That ugly Joe Strummer tele is $1342 shipped from https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/product/220610387264008--fender-joe-strummer-telecaster-black-rosewood-fingerboard
(picture omitted)
2) Because of you assholes I bought a Squire Classic Vibe 60's Telecaster (used on Craigslist) and now I have to figure out how to play it.
Also ProAudioStar is apparently selling "New" squire guitars as used for $249...but it seems like a guitar lottery. (full disclosure I ordered a Butterscotch blond 50's Classic vibe and it was a 5 piece 9lbs 14oz anchor... so I ate $15 in shipping to return it)

Heard a rumor that Deon is heading up to Corn. Would fix their recruiting issues, but that's a long way from ol Tom "go ahead hit your GF" Osborne
