  1. Will be there. Booked flight after OU. None of my normal folks are able to join me so I'm rolling solo, but I do have extra ticket in UT sections (not sure exactly where yet). Will probably check out the CFB Hall of Fame. Any other recommendations?
  2. All the celebs are out here tailgating in CS
  3. Oh I so badly want to hand this team a loss next week
  4. GT could have run it down and taken a timeout with 2:04 before the 3rd and 1, to make that the last play before the 2 minute warning. Instead they rushed it and snapped with 2:11. Not saying that caused the fumble but they could have managed that better.
  5. Hadn’t heard that but I believe it. They are goofy fucks but they got more than 15 minutes of fame. Their company makes $20m a year.
  6. First round time slots will be determined for maximum ratings. The two early games on Saturday the 21st (broadcast on TNT, and going up against NFL games) will surely be the least attractive matchups. Quarter-final sites have conference tie-ins: B1G champ to Rose Bowl, SEC to Sugar, and presumably Big 12 to Fiesta and ACC to Peach but I suppose there is some wiggle room if Boise is top four or whatever. Haven’t read officially how the sites for the semi-finals would be determined. I’m assuming it will be set based on proximity to the higher seeds and decided on selection day rather than waiting to see quarter-final winners.
  7. Finally watched that earlier this year. Not perfect but I loved it. Definitely more fun than Say Nothing.
  8. It was a fun popcorn movie but didn’t come close to matching the emotional stakes of the original. Should have never expected it to, and I don’t think Ridley Scott really did either. It was more campy, especially the set pieces and comically graphic violence. Connie Nielsen’s performance was just dreadful yet her character’s relationship to several others was crucial to the weight of the story and couldn’t deliver. On the positive side, Denzel was cool, and the musical score was a good reprise of Hans Zimmer’s original. And yes, the baboon sequence was distractingly cartoonish.
  9. Really enjoyed it. Interesting mix of perspectives on the events (about which I know very little). Agreed that it was excellent casting for the characters at different ages. And although I did miss the younger versions in the later episodes, I thought it kept getting better through the end. The hunger strike episode was rough to watch.
  10. Fully enjoyed it. Excellent film adaptation of a musical. Ariana Grande is hot, and very good in this. Was also worried about the runtime going in, but hardly noticed it.
  11. I don’t typically buy into “media member X hates us” and that line of thinking. But listening and reading to recaps of this weekend (and the last few), and it’s incredible how our wins are plainly dismissed in comparison to other flawed teams in CFP contention. Penn State win by 1 against Minnesota: “Minnesota been playing well…good win for PSU” Indiana 38-15 to Ohio State…”was closer than it seemed cause of special teams and late TD” Oregon…”gutsy win at Wisconsin” I’ve heard heaps of credit given to SMU and Tennessee for fuck’s sake, hardly a positive word said about Texas in the last month. ”if Texas loses to A&M they should fall far in the rankings…what have they done?”, while in the same breath saying the environment we’re walking into Saturday will be one of the toughest in recent memory. I know I shouldn’t give a shit, we’re fine with the CFP, but it’s annoying me. Need to shut them all up over the next couple weeks.
  12. UK clinched at least a share today. Be nice if Missouri did us a favor and knocked them off in the last match.
  13. Now we go to dueling 2 point attempts
  14. Well that call probably decides it
