  1. Just played the video of Yormark sucking off the Tech boosters, flash to a screen “See you in Arlington”
  2. We just ran a Big 12 commercial on the video board. A bit odd
  3. Thought these four eps were excellent. Debicki’s performance carries a lot of the weight. She’s phenomenal. The stress of the non-stop paparazzi harassment was pretty effective I thought. I know there’s plenty of fictionalization throughout this show, but Dodi’s faked call to his father and the proposal to Diana left me wondering how much of that is pure speculation for melodramatic purposes (a lot I assume). Also the scenes with the projection (or “ghost”) of Diana and Dodi were a bit jarring at first, but I didn’t mind it in the end. I am also a bit skeptical of what they can do in the final six episodes to reach the same level of drama as this portion of the season. Love this show and sad that there are only a few episodes left.
  4. My mom was three years old. Anyway, I always find this audio of the news being shared with the audience at the Boston Symphony to be particularly chilling. https://openvault.wgbh.org/catalog/A_D45936FAA8634E51B92408351A24CCAA#:~:text=On November 22nd%2C 1963%2C at,March from Beethoven's third symphony. And a short article with a bit more context
  5. Texas could very well be left out at 12-1 based on how things are looking. But 12-1 UGA going over us is not something I’m worried about at all. This year, with so many remaining CFP contenders, the SEC championship game is basically a quarterfinal.
  6. The only explanation is that these are actually predictions for what the current rankings will be.
  7. Putting aside his lack of favor to Texas, Galloway is just bad on this show, with shitty reasoning and interrupting the others (especially McElroy) constantly.
  8. Herbie says we’d be in over Bama in that chaos scenario, but then argues that resumes should only be used to distinguish between clusters of teams. What? I understand using eye-test to some degree, but if resumes aren’t a primary factor in ranking teams than what is the point of playing games.
  9. I’m “OK” with missing the playoffs at 12-1 if that’s how the chips fall, because that would undoubtedly be a very successful season. Winning the Big 12 on the way out was the goal for this year, and it’s two wins away. However it would be incredibly annoying, and frankly unlucky, if we’re left out at 12-1, considering OU reached the playoffs FOUR times at 12-1, and TCU did last year. Yeah they mostly got blown out of the playoffs in humiliating fashion, but they got in. This is the last chance to get into the 4-team CFP, and I badly wanna make it, even if we’d be an underdog to win it all.
  10. I like this guy’s analysis of resumes, which includes the potential future results and how they stack up, at least according to his formula. Big takeaways are the CFP rankings highly overvalue Oregon and FSU. But we all know CFB rankings have always been highly based on number and recency of losses, and style points late in the season. Also, the SEC has earned a lot of credit over the years, but I really wish more (read: any) of the national voices would actually scrutinize their 12-game schedules, namely the eight-game SEC slate and at least three (and often four) cupcakes most of them play in non-conference.
  11. Good effort. Played ‘em pretty much toe to toe after the terrible start
  12. Is anything that happens in college basketball in November really “national” though?
  13. If UGA were to get in as a 12-1 non-SEC champ over Texas, it would be purely based on what happened in the two previous seasons. That would be absolute bullshit and I don’t believe the committee would do it. Not a scenario I’m worried about.
  14. There haven’t even been five 10-0 Power 5 teams since at least the start of the BCS. I think I heard 1973 mentioned on a podcast for the last time it’s happened, much less 11-0.
  15. Yeah that’s the obvious caveat. You just don’t expect that to happen, and yet it’s getting close. No top 8 team has a loss to a non top 8 team, except our last minute loss to OU. Freakishly top-heavy season.
  16. If you had told me before the season we would potentially be 12-1 conference champs and with a win over Bama, I would have bet any amount of money that we wouldn’t miss the playoffs. The fact that it is an actual possibility is wild, and especially annoying considering OU’s four playoff bids at 12-1.
  17. Don’t know if I’ve hated another non OU or Aggy coach more. Can’t stand Campbell
  18. Yeah I can’t see any scenario even if we lose to Tech where we don’t make it. If it exists, someone please explain. Edit: answered
