  1. WVU will get a FG attempt at the very least
  2. WVU didn’t call the timeout right away and wasted like 10 seconds
  3. That’s a tough call on 3rd down, but fair. Receiver played it well to fight for it and draw the flag.
  4. Yeah Jake admitted he doesn’t root for Texas anymore because fans were too whiny or critical of him being a t-shirt fan or something like that, despite growing up a UT fan. I clearly remember some point last year him commenting how it was funny to see us fail.
  5. Yep. I’ve been a bit disappointed that the Dumb Zone has hardly even mentioned college football when they used to at least do a segment or two a week on it. Then again, most of what they would say back then would annoy me anyway given the lack of depth or just reveling in Texas losses and that kind of thing. I have several CFB podcasts that are very solid. All the cowboys talk is just background noise for me that I mainly tune out.
  6. More statistical projections on the conference race, from https://kfordratings.com/
  7. I know most here hate Herbie, but I thought this was cool:
  8. If only we all had a police escort to get around:
  9. Second to last question I think, Anwar asked him if he’d do anything different with regard to clock management on the last drive. Sark only addressed the playcalling after our last first down and subsequent sack and playing for the FG. Nothing about earlier in the drive.
  10. Some might say it would be soft to call in a rivalry game, but twice in the same drive Downs was talking shit getting in the face and bending down to make helmet contact with our player (Brooks, I think, then Ewers). Should have been taunting.
  11. Yes, and with play already stopped thus negating the hurry up, Sark should have been telling the offense during the stoppage to run the play clock down. In which case you’d think he would have noticed the incorrect timing by the officials, but it seems he didn’t.
  12. I hear what you’re saying, and the game at the Cotton Bowl has the more “magical” feel, but if you’re holding the Big 12 trophy at the end, that’s gonna matter more, regardless if the qualification for and staging that game itself is silly or superfluous. I attended as well and still remember OU fans flashing the number four at us as we filed out, indicating the number of consecutive conference titles they had won. Our earlier win in October is the win that felt hollow to me at that point.
  13. Holding Majors and Watts out this week, Sark will update when they know more by next Monday.
  14. Sark: Team is banged up, get healthy during off week Need to cause more turnovers, fix red zone offense, work on 2 minute defense, and improve the return game
  15. Since the move to digital tickets, Gate A to get in the stadium has to be avoided. It’s painfully slow and feels unsafe, and absolutely miserable if it’s hot out. We were stuck there last year and almost missed kickoff. This year I went from the Car Show to Big Tex area to Gate B around 10:30 and made it to my seats (admittedly very close to Gate B), by 10:40ish. Can’t speak to the other “main gates”, D, G, and K, but strong recommend to use the in-between ones if you can.
  16. No offense Dallas fans, but I’m so glad not to also be a Cowboys fan
  17. Every section stands the whole game at Texas/OU. Is it really GA for students at this game? I know it is at home games but I figured they had assigned seats in this one. If so, what a clusterfuck.
  18. Finished watching the replay. Hard not to notice it somewhat in person, but wow did Jaylan Ford have a terrible game. We definitely could have used more clock on the FG drive but the tempo was also part of the drive’s success so hard to say it’s a black and white issue of coaching failure. Once we had first down at the 30 we should have been using the maximum amount of time possible though. I pray we get another chance at those guys.
  19. Unless we win a rematch, we’re now guaranteed not to win consecutive games against OU from 2009 until AT LEAST 2025. Considering the programs’ trajectories over that time, it’s not shocking, but fuck is it painful.
  20. From the DMN article, it’s my understanding that in addition to enlarging the concourses, access to the upper bowl sections without going through the lower concourse is part of the plans. I’ve always sat in the lower bowl but my friends in the upper deck were complaining about it a lot yesterday. Avoiding the main Gate A stadium entrance was a positive for us this year after waiting and sweating for at least 30 minutes to get in there last year. Much quicker entry through Gate B, about 25 minutes before kickoff.
  21. Not usually. Which is good because as I posted in another thread, we’ve now lost the game before the bye week for five straight seasons.
  22. Not really a great thread to put this in, but I believe this is the fifth consecutive season that we’ve lost the game going into the bye week. Because just what we all need is that extra week of bitching and wondering “what if”.
