Went on Sunday. Freaking hot and incredibly dusty.
Knew little of the lineup, as usual. But had a great time at The Dare and especially Midnight Generation (tito's tent), neither of which I was familiar with previously. Enjoyed Rainbow Kitten Surprise as well.
Killers were good too, though I also thought Whiskey River opener was pretty lame. And I agree it seemed like the least crowded closing act I can remember, but figured that was the youngsters going to John Summitt, which I would have like to see too, but the less packed crowd was nice.
Especially after my fellow late 30s white friend and I had posted up somewhere for T-Pain, and as his showtime approached the dense crowd that formed around us was so noticeably younger that we felt a wee bit out of place. So, moved back for a bit more breathing room. But I joked that during that set, no matter where we stopped and posted up, the age demographic around us just kept decreasing over time. High energy set though.
Used to go three-days every year, but after a hiatus for a few years I've been liking just going all out for one day.
