  1. Well fuck. I don't know what the hell is going on.
  2. Again is it puzzling compared to non-2020 patterns? What happened with early voting two years ago when the Democrats won?
  3. What were the early voting numbers in 2016, 2018, and 2022? I mean I get why there are slightly more Republican votes because in 2020 there was this big push to not do early voting or votes by mail for Republicans. Again I think there are issues with using 2020 as the baseline election to compare everything to. And the Democrats won in 2022 with all statewide elections plus in the state house with basically the same difference in party registrations.
  4. Once we deport every body and massively reduce public spending in an unspecified way the economy will collapse, but don't worry! Just stay the course and everything will work out. Yeah, ok. I have heard that before. Besides look how people freaked out over a little inflation, you think we would stay the course if we adopted policies that led to short term economic collapse?
  5. So the Dems and Republicans voted in equal numbers then?
  6. That's always the promise. We just shock the economy and re-arrange it according to their ideology and we will emerge in a great place. Never seems to work out that way...
  7. I always check three times. I vote, go over it again. The I review my choices on the review screen. Then I print and go over it again. Mostly to see if I committed any user errors. Wouldn't want to try to vote for Al Gore and accidentally vote for Pat Buchanan or anything.
  8. So she was harassing people in the store and she said you were the deranged one? Huh. Yeah. I just hope it isn't too late. And they do actually get energized enough to vote
  9. Oh I remember. Well we did better than we thought we would anyway. Here is hoping.
  10. A little concerned about offending the oligarchs like Bezos. I probably shouldn't be but they are oligarchs. They have tremendous resources and power that exceeds many elected officials and they can never be voted out of office. They are our own kings and dukes. Hey this is exactly the kind of thing we were warned would happen if we let the rich run amok. Ah well.
  11. Well his name is Hasan hence is a terrorist whose beeper will explode. Just stupid shit.
  12. It's a reference to the exploding Hezbollah beepers.
  13. Well since he is some kind of science genius I am sure he has considered all the relevant data.
  14. Execution of the owner of the Panthers? Well that's probably just Charlotte.
  15. Well we have votes now at least. We just don't know who for yet. So what we seem to be doing is looking at who has voted so far and trying to read the tea leaves based on that.
  16. I believe you. Hopefully we can still pull it out. However the large female voting numbers are real and I am hoping that means something good. Got my straws firmly grasped. But let us know if or when things start looking better.
  17. 30% of Loving County has voted. That is 12 whole voters.
  18. Isn't religion supposed to give you some comfort? Because this shit sucks and is stressful.
  19. I don't know how seriously to take the House vote from 2022. First there was a massive ten point Republican swing in Texas in the House elections. But the Democrats did not even lose a seat and none of their incumbents were even seriously threatened. This happened at least partially because the 31st, 26th, 25th, 19th, 11th, and 6th were all unopposed and they weren't in 2020. And a few were previously pretty competitive in 2020. The 6th, 25th, and 31st previously had Democratic challengers with more than 40% of the vote. So we seem to have gotten a 10 point swing in the second most populous state in the Union in a way that led to not a single Democratic seat being lost. To me that is partially, or even mostly, because six seats that previously were contested, were not. So how can we just take the House vote in 2022 as some kind of evidence for anything? Trump isn't running unopposed in any states. If we go across the whole country were unopposed seats well balanced in such a way that that number can be taken as evidence for this year?
  20. It would be wild if the Democrats somehow survived 2022, when inflation was so much worse, only for it to sink them in 2024 after the problem has been basically managed. But nobody said politics is fair.
  21. One of the many things I hate about these elections is that they ruin Halloween every four years. Hell every two years.
  22. Yeah. Rather an end with bullshit than bullshit without end.
  23. For what it is worth I appreciate it. It is crazy how close everything is.
  24. It is the A&M talk containment zone and has nobly served its purpose for six long years.
