  1. I remember watching videos of Cook working out with Evan Stewart. Who’d have thought Stewart would turn out to be the more stable of the two?
  2. The fact that Liucci checks bags for a game trip to Las Vegas is more incredible than his sports takes.
  3. Yeah, I get that $25K is probably nothing to someone who makes what he makes, but if I were actually trying to win, win, I wouldn’t sit down without at least 1000 units. If he’s not trying to win, win — and looking at the way he executes a strategy and builds a team and staff, he probably isn’t trying to win anything — then the objective is likely just to play as long as he can before he runs out of time, so why not play at a lower stakes table?
  4. I hope they all think like Teslag. That Sarkisian got Texas into the playoffs with bought players and not by building a program and developing players. I especially hope they avert their eyes from the Texas OL and DL.
  5. Any posts about 1977 and ND really should be spoilered. Fucking Terry Eurick. This is such bullshit.
  6. Check me if I’m wrong Sandy, but OU and A&M have both suffered soul-crushing last second bowl losses and they both get to spend the rest of the year being reminded that Texas is in the playoffs.
  7. Thank you. I cut it out of the original post, but a huge chunk of why I’m on this side of the dirt is the effect not being so would have had on others. There are still a shit ton of “I don’t want to be here” thoughts. And then our six year old niece will give me a drawing she made of us so I can “look at her when she’s not around” and maybe there are still some reasons to be here. Two things, one serious and one not so much have helped. Suicide doesn’t stop the pain, it just transfers it. Don’t drive drunk. If you don’t make it home, your dogs will never know why you didn’t come home. Thanks again.
  8. In a less shitty world, I’d be sitting at the kitchen table talking to the best woman I’ve ever known while she hand washed the Christmas china. We’d be talking about our gifts, what we think others thought of what we got for them, and what she was going to return. She was very particular. Talking about how lucky we are. And how glad she is that Christmas is over. Then we’d go lie down together and watch whatever show we were into at the moment. She’d say “Goodnight, biscuit, I love you” and we’d crash after a long day. In this shitty world, she’s ashes on my fucking mantel. Her mother is out of town because she couldn’t stand to be home without her daughter in this world on this day. And I’m not entirely sure right now that I’m on the right side of the dirt. Is this all there is now? Spending time with women who I wouldn’t give the time of day if she were alive? A life of “less than” until my heart has the good sense to stop working? It’s not a very compelling future. This fucking sucks.
  9. I thought you were going with Ed Harris in The Rock: “There is no fucking money. The mission's over.”
  10. If an inexperienced Reed would have been worth 10+ against a respectable ND defense, and an experienced Reed is worth zero points against Texas, Weigman may have provided more points for Texas than Ewers and Manning combined. He just isn’t that good, imo, but I see how he could have been effective if ND expected only Weigman. That aside, the “we’re ready now” talk from Elko — apparently memory holed over there — along with the chest thumping about being first in the SEC (because they had an extra conference game early) has provided an especially tasty ascent of the roller coaster. I’d like to thank Missouri for their contribution to the cause. We’re now in the “will tu have a home playoff game if Georgia wins by 40+” and “highly rated classes don’t always win” portion of the reset.
  11. Oh, stewardess… “Can’t any of our girl soccer players kick?”
  12. I view Miami as a more legitimate 4-2.
  13. That makes sense. Copper pipes. I’m fine with the diverter but I have too much college football to watch to mess with it a lot today. I did figure which size hex wrench gets the handle off, so I’m going to call that a win, top off my Bloody Mary, sit back down. I feel like if it were something tragic with the lines I’d know that by now, so we’ll see what Monday brings. Thanks.
