  1. I thought you were going with Ed Harris in The Rock: “There is no fucking money. The mission's over.”
  2. If an inexperienced Reed would have been worth 10+ against a respectable ND defense, and an experienced Reed is worth zero points against Texas, Weigman may have provided more points for Texas than Ewers and Manning combined. He just isn’t that good, imo, but I see how he could have been effective if ND expected only Weigman. That aside, the “we’re ready now” talk from Elko — apparently memory holed over there — along with the chest thumping about being first in the SEC (because they had an extra conference game early) has provided an especially tasty ascent of the roller coaster. I’d like to thank Missouri for their contribution to the cause. We’re now in the “will tu have a home playoff game if Georgia wins by 40+” and “highly rated classes don’t always win” portion of the reset.
  3. Oh, stewardess… “Can’t any of our girl soccer players kick?”
  4. I view Miami as a more legitimate 4-2.
  5. That makes sense. Copper pipes. I’m fine with the diverter but I have too much college football to watch to mess with it a lot today. I did figure which size hex wrench gets the handle off, so I’m going to call that a win, top off my Bloody Mary, sit back down. I feel like if it were something tragic with the lines I’d know that by now, so we’ll see what Monday brings. Thanks.
  6. … just started today, out of nowhere. Figured the shower head might be clogged so I cleaned it. No difference. I took it off. No difference. Everywhere else in the house, including everything else in the bathroom, has the same pressure as always. Water in the shower is controlled by a single lever to mix the hot and cold. Everything is original and more than 25 years old, if that might indicate something worn out somewhere Is there anything feasible for me to try or do I just need to call a plumber? Thanks…
  7. "We've got a pool. We've got a pond. Pond's good for you.”
  8. I don’t think he needs to pass more than 20 yards downfield when he can hit Bond, Wingo, Moore, Helm, etc. on the move and in space. That said, and I haven’t actually counted up anything, but I get the impression that Ewers is now much better at the long ball toward the middle of the field rather than down the sideline. Some long posts or post-corners would work for me even if he struggles with the flies down the sideline like happened so many times with Worthy.
  9. You pull Ewers and you’re essentially pushing all your chips in on Manning not just for that game but maybe the season. You’d better be damned sure. Their secondary and its tackling are very suspect. Add in Texas’ skill players and it doesn’t get any better.
  10. Are your objections to his 4th down decisions based on probability or your gut? Or something else? What do you disagree with about Sarkisian’s view of deferring and receiving? Against Michigan, he made the decision so Texas would have the wind in the 4th if a field goal was needed. He clearly thinks about the ramifications. Why do you disagree?
  11. Now do first quarter, or first half, Beck against Alabama. If Georgia gets down 28, Simmons, Moore, Hill, Lefau, etc. are going to take Beck’s soul.
  12. He’s an admitted Georgia homer. Still a lot of fun to watch his stuff.
  13. Even leaving aside the use of “squad,” the fact that they could get down by 28 to a team with less on offense than Texas has isn’t as strong a selling point as some might think. It won’t be easy. Texas will have to execute and protect the ball. Georgia’s secondary looks vulnerable. If they get down and have to pass, it’s much more likely, imo, that Beck gets lit up than Beck leads a comeback. I guess we’ll see.
  14. Where “relative ease” means drives of 18, -12, 38, 17, 17, 10, 13, -2 in the first half. Relative to what, I wonder. Maybe their effort against Notre Dame.
  15. Sarkisian said likely to be probable as of today.
  16. “Poor Aggies” encapsulates all that, and more. If you want to put a bumper sticker on a Huracán, no one can stop you.
  17. “Poor Aggies” will always be better.
  18. The whining about Texas facing backup QBs, then throwing in the Houston and KSU games, along with Ewers’ first game back against TCU is a master class in obliviousness.
  19. I mean, fair, I suppose, but I suspect every team has a lot of “well, hell, at least the other guys didn’t take advantage” kind of plays that we don’t hold against them because we don’t see them all. We see every possible doomsday scenario on every Texas play.
  20. No pass defense. Beck is overrated. Too many injuries for the Bulldogs. Referees saved them. Lucky passes. Hoping to see a lot of that.
  21. “Every game is the SEC championship game.” I know it sounds like bullshit, but it really does seem like they’ve fully bought in. Even with the turnovers and drops against Mississippi State, Texas has come to play every game so far.
  22. They had the one wide open wheel route heading into their end. Maybe I’m just blanking on the others.
  23. Of course. Texas will play 60 minutes like the middle part of the scrimmage-like Mississippi State game and Georgia will play 60 minutes like the second half of the Clemson game. All of Georgia’s shit secondary play will be fixed and all of Ewers’ start against OU will be in play. Of course, Georgia can win. If both teams play anything like their tendencies so far this season, it’s pretty unlikely. But who the hell knows.
