  1. While technically true, it seems irrelevant to the metaphors being used. Are they just two different ways of saying they’re pursuing highly rated, and perhaps low probability, guys?
  2. Is there a difference between “deep sea fishing” and “big game hunting”?
  3. I expect Texas to score 41 or so, as is. I think it’s pretty advantageous to feed them info coming down from above that they might not be able to see. I think being able to talk to the QB without having to wait for a series to end or calling a time out can be a pretty big deal.
  4. I don’t know that there’s any way to know for sure since I expect the Texas offense to have substantial success, but I suppose it’s possible that it will have even more success than it otherwise would. Texas should be able to score from the one if Ewers points out where the play is going, though. Frankly, if I thought someone could be stealing signs and I couldn’t reasonably avoid it, I’d have a handful of “If I signal this, run that” for key situations. What will you be looking for to judge whether the comms hurt Venables on defense?
  5. He does say “wild.” Based on power rankings, A&M is very likely to drop at least one of those three. I feel like the Aggie buzz would be a little lower if Boston College and Vanderbilt had managed to seal the deal against Missouri. We’ll see.
  6. Could be a big positive for them with Venables being able to be in Stutsman’s ear. Could be a big positive for Texas with Sarkisian being able to do the same with Ewers. Most likely, it’s probably about a wash and Texas wins big by protecting the football.
  7. He’s in Texas now. Maybe huevos rancheros y barbacoa.
  8. A thought experiment: what was the situation for this game before the SEC got involved? Three beers in wax cups, right? Therefore…
  9. Yes, it answers the question. If the Fair rules apply, the SEC’s don’t.
  10. State Fair rules apply.
  11. Probably the one from the dim bulb one of the dim bulbs from ou insider.
  12. The latest is that he’s going to fuck up Oklahoma’s defense.
  13. How far are the 49ers throwing back? I’d expect the wide red and white stripes on gold pants and the helmet logo without the gold showing through.
  14. I didn’t think it was boring at all. A game doesn’t have to be 45-42 to be exciting. There were fuckups and drama and an injured QB and lead changes. Me gusta.
  15. First team to miss a FG in OT loses.
  16. Watched the player availability stuff. Kurt is still a fucking cunt with his Temu Skip Bayless click baity repetitive shit question about the two TD line. Little bitch. Gbenda is a smart guy. I don’t know if he really doesn’t know anything about betting or whether he was trolling, but his response was great. Barron is charismatic AF. It seems like he could accomplish just about anything in life he wanted to. They’ve all absolutely bought into what Sarkisian is selling. You can hear the phrases he uses coming from them. Communication and rush lane integrity seem to be big talking points. Oklahoma is fucked.
  17. Yeah, this. Who do you favor with Texas’ offense versus OU’s defense? I take Texas’ offense. There’s 30+ points to had there by protecting the ball. Who do you favor with Texas’ defense versus OU’s offense? I take Texas’ defense. How many non-garbage points are we talking here? 13? 17? Twenty-one feels like a stretch. Protect the ball. No short fields. No pick sixes. Spy Hawkins if that feels like a thing. Make the plays you’re capable of making. 41-13 doesn’t feel outrageous to me.
  18. Maybe you think Texas is just going to stand there and do the same thing for 60 against OU that they did against Mississippi State. Seems unlikely to me. Sarkisian specifically said what their defensive approach was, and it was “if that’s what you want to do, bang your head for 4 yards a carry, we don’t even give enough of a fuck to change anything because you can’t beat us that way.” Almost certainly — and maybe I’m wrong, it wouldn’t be the first time — Texas played that game the way they did because, first, Mississippi State couldn’t win that way and, second, why show OU what you’d do in a similar situation if you don’t need to. Again, maybe I’m wrong and that was the best defense Kwiatkowski and staff could figure out and they were completely baffled as to what adjustments to make, but I feel certain they have something a little stronger in store for OU. I suspect we’ll find out.
  19. Depends on how you determine your targets and offers, it seems to me. I’m not going to claim NIL isn’t a big factor, but if your goal is the NFL and you’re not fairly interested in playing for Sarkisian and and in his offense, well, best of luck in your NIL pursuits elsewhere, I suppose.
  20. I thought I was losing my mind. But, yes, I do get what you’re saying. It doesn’t take many breakdowns to give up points even if the overall grade is good. I was surprised to see Muhammad beaten deep. I’m hoping the D just lost focus and didn’t play as soundly as they should have on some plays. That can be addressed. Not every QB is going to miss some of those throws.
  21. Jesus. Fucking. Christ. This isn’t Mukuba’s grade. It’s just his photo. Are we clear on that, yet?
  22. It isn’t focusing on one of the five starters. That’s the team’s grade.
  23. It’s Mukuba’s photo. It’s the pass defense’s grade.
