  1. Does “this type of injury” have different levels of severity? If so, what relevant data do you have on the severity of this one? Hell, he may never play again, but I don’t think the doomsayers have any more insight than the sunshine brigade without knowing more specifics about the particular injury in question.
  2. It doesn’t speak to that at all.
  3. Well, given that my original argument is that the upgrade was in depth and not absolute peak, I’m sticking with my argument that the room, overall, that I’d take is the 2024 room. Other people may see it differently. That’s cool.
  4. I mean, sure, there’s always a reason why it’s ok when our side does it and why the other guys are classless douches when they do it.
  5. Worthy is faster than Bond. I don’t know that he’s better in any meaningful way. Mitchell was a badass. Would I trade him for Wingo right now? No. Cook now is better than Cook then. Golden vs. Whittington, as receivers? Hmmm. Based on what I’ve seen and what Sarkisian has said, the blocking needs to step up. That said, I wouldn’t swap this year’s group for last year’s.
  6. Maybe, maybe at the margin — Bond probably isn’t going to put up a 40 time like Worthy’s — but he’s more than fast enough to do to defenses what Worthy did. Imo.
  7. Where does throwing to Cook up 42-7 in the 4th fall on the class scale? To be clear, I’m not opposed and I understand why, but not everyone sees it that way. There are plenty of people who saw Sarkisian’s continuing to press into the 4th quarter the same way you see what Tennessee did.
  8. He did pretty well against Alabama’s defense in 2023. I think there’s a pretty strong argument to be made that the WR position is upgraded in depth and experience compared to last year. Bond, Wingo, Cook, Golden, Moore, and Bolden doesn’t have a Worthy at the top, maybe, but they come at teams in waves.
  9. He also said “after three games” which is a bit different.
  10. I think Sarkisian is more than able to handle it. I don’t think, “Oh no, their backup might be good enough to take the Heisman favorite’s job,” even if a bad take, creates quite the look they’re hoping for.
  11. If nothing else, the “they’ll take a step back without Worthy, Mitchell, and Sanders” talk has quieted down.
  12. I could have been reading incorrect information, though I don’t think kickers and punters being able to do such things based on predetermined formations is that unusual. Either way, it’s not the kicking team’s responsibility to conform to expectations.
  13. It’s not his job to stop his own team but, as I understand it, this was a call made by the kicker based on formation. Tennessee offered shortened quarters for the second half and Kent State declined. Tip of the hat to Kent State for that.
  14. They just need to win their conference. If they do, they’re in the playoffs. If they don’t, playing OU probably isn’t going to help them.
  15. Imo.
  16. Why should they play OU? “Choices have consequences” works both ways.
  17. If http referer is still a thing, and I feel like it is, it’s a certainty that he reads it.
  18. A glitch in the matrix, maybe.
  19. Well, turnovers aside, you were watching the two best teams in the country. No one will mistake the Aggies and Gators for that.
  20. To be fair, he said “after three games.” But, yes, fun.
  21. Forward progress stopped, my ass. And the beauty part is that that bullshit call wouldn’t have been reviewable.
  22. His take on the “guy in the stands” when he had the headset off watching his son play was pure gold.
  23. As opposed to the mail-it-in bullshit they’ve been throwing out there for Ewers.
  24. It’s schtick, and not even clever schtick, but I could see this guy having Texas #4 in the SEC while Sarkisian is hoisting the national championship trophy.
