  1. Jeanty would have to run for 3000 yards at 10 a pop to have a shot, and they might be a playoff team. Imo, it’s a “nice to have,” at best, other than to the extent it helps the program as a whole. It doesn’t represent what it purports to represent, but if it benefits Texas to have the winner, and it does, then I hope Ewers gets it, even apart from the fact that it means he had to have kicked ass on the biggest stages to do so.
  2. It’s been a minute since my pessimistic self has entertained thoughts of Texas bodying the two current juggernaut programs, along with the defending national champions, in consecutive seasons, but here I am. I’m trying to take small sips of the Kool-Aid, but humbling OU and beating UGA in front of a who’s who of recruits would be a pretty good way to move into the second half of the season. I’m kind of liking this Sarkisian guy.
  3. Flip between games easily: hit the down arrow on your remote and select from your recently watched channels. Depending on your remote, briefly hold down the Select button to return to the previous channel. I get no pop up commercials in the middle of a play or any weird beeping.
  4. There’s no world in which adding channel numbers to that setup isn’t superior. I want to go from ABC to TBS. Wheee, let’s scroll.
  5. “I saw the All American in the marble and carved until I set him free.”
  6. Players want it. Good publicity. Something to sell recruits.
  7. I only go to Reddit for arcane or very specific technical questions. That usually involves so many jackasses that I couldn’t imagine being around shit talking idiots on a college football sub.
  8. Is he running back kicks and punts?
  9. I was there for the sour. I’d just as soon leave it there.
  10. I’m not in here for Texas misery.
  11. I wasn’t, but now I am. Thanks a pantload for that.
  12. I only go back after the fact. Anything less than an opening kick touchdown signals imminent collapse, failure, and loss.
  13. When did the major conferences do that? If you don’t want to know who cares, don’t fucking ask.
  14. I give a shit. How do you know the other division winner is shitty?
  15. To avoid a rematch in a championship game, for one.
  16. Well, here’s your chance to make a lot of money, then.
  17. You keep saying it’s pointless, but you don’t explain why. I think it’s pretty clear why 16 and 18 team conferences might not want them. Why isn’t having a regular season rematch in a conference championship game “pointless”?
  18. Divisions aren’t pointless unless you have too many teams to do a divisional round robin.
  19. Letdown game, more backup playing time, and Sarkisian’s lack of desire to run up the score, imo.
  20. I’ll own not realizing that Herman had reached the upper bounds of his competence at Houston. I figured he’d seen how top programs are run. He has some douche tendencies, but I can’t get too mad at someone who was mostly just in over his head. I was happy with the Sarkisian hire but didn’t understand how fully he grasps how to run a top flight program, on and off the field.
  21. Sometimes you don’t even need to see the username to know who wrote something.
  22. Of the pleasant surprises so far, Helm is the pleasantest. Losing Worthy and Mitchell looked handled, at least to some extent, but I wondered what things would look like without Sanders. Helm has impressed the hell out of me to this point.
