  1. If the 13th place rushing attack in the SEC can run successfully, Texas is fucked.
  2. Presuming Texas gets there, I’d like to thank Alabama for being the canary in that coal mine. I don’t think there’s any way in hell Texas allows itself to be the second #1 team to lose there this season.
  3. Georgia can’t be down until they lose to the sips. In a way, picking Texas is win/win. If Texas win, Georgia is down. If Texas loses, of course they lost to a team with a pulse. Teams have to abandon the run against Texas which explains Texas’ *checks notes* second ranked nationally pass defense.
  4. Sarkisian isn’t good at getting Texas up for games they should win handily, yet the whole conversation is about the way Texas has been crushing the skulls of teams they say aren’t any good. The second best part of Texas snuffing Georgia will be reading why Texas still hasn’t played anyone.
  5. This was 100% on Akers. There was no reason for anyone to touch that punt. Once it was clear Georgia wasn’t faking the punt, no one should’ve been around the ball. Even then, it took an outrageous hold for Georgia to score. I blamed Curry because I didn’t know any better. Even without pointing to all of Texas’ other fuckups that day, that wasn’t Craig’s fault. A guy on the team explained it to me in no uncertain terms. That was 100% on Fred Akers.
  6. Maybe stop being such a disingenuous, self-righteous cunt. What I said was, since multisyllabic — oh, sorry, long — words are confusing to you is: not your business. Don’t want FCS teams? Don’t schedule them. Don’t want too many G5 teams? Don’t schedule them. Don’t like the games? Don’t watch them. I said fuck all — literally not one word — about how many home games. Why do you just make up shit if you’re so sure you’re right? I referred to money for the FCS (and G5) schools because they get a fat check that helps them actually field a fucking team. Maybe your mind would be less bottled if you read what people wrote rather than nuking strawmen from orbit.
  7. Apparently the schools involved in those games don’t think so. I’m thinking they should be the ones to make that call, not some outraged guy on a message board or anyone else. Unless that starts making a difference in playoff seeding or playoff entry and their fans are willing to buy enough tickets, there’s not much other reason to stop them.
  8. Ok, I get what you’re saying now. I just don’t agree with it. I don’t think Texas should schedule FCS teams. I don’t care if other schools do. And it could probably reasonably be argued that the step down from Texas to a G5 school is equivalent to a scrub P4 team stepping down to FCS. Regardless, who other schools schedule should be up to them and not for someone to ban.
  9. I guess I just don’t understand your point. Texas has been playing Rice or Utah State or NM State or UNT or whatever beatdown games for as long as I can remember. They want/need the money. Same with the silly games KSU scheduled. I have no idea what your actual point is but as far as I know, the theory has been, for a long time, schedule a beating, a mid game, and a marquee type OOC game.
  10. That’s more than fair, it was just a really sweet hit that kind of added some momentum. Just nitpicking, obviously. Really well done.
  11. It’s Lefau’s run stuff in the OU game from being perfect, imo.
  12. And by verifying that their actual mascot didn’t appear later.
  13. Not going to lie, I had to figure out Ole Miss via elimination.
  14. It absolutely fucking does not sound like Sarkisian. At all.
  15. When was this?
  16. “Football is a very dynamic game," Shaw said. "Occasionally there are specific situations where committing a penalty can give a team an advantage. A guiding principle of the NCAA Football Rules Committee is that there should be no benefit when a team commits a penalty.” Like, say, intentional pass interference on a play more than 15 yards downfield?
  17. Even granting their argument, I’m just as fine with a 60 yard catch and run TD from Bond, Wingo, Moore, or whoever as I am with a 60 yard bomb TD. Based on how their secondary looks, so are they.
  18. Ewers is, imo, going to unload on them. He will become death, the destroyer of UGAs.
  19. Won’t or can’t? I mean, we know the answer…
  20. Honestly, if they’re already Georgia guys, is it even high risk as long as you don’t think they’re here to recruit. That would be a whole ‘nother can of worms.
  21. Hell yeah, there are. Especially the women with loose moral standards and a fondness for Johnnie Walker. Wise words, indeed. “This is now the sips always are. Won’t you be my friend?”
  22. Texas needs to turn them into “whale shit at the bottom of the ocean” as a gentleman who lived around Phoenix used to say. The bonus would be the wailing and gnashing of teeth from the Aggies about how the sips ruined the conference. Part Three.
  23. Like I said, however shitty they are, it’s pretty easy to see how they do against teams not named Texas and how they do against Texas. I think Texas beats Georgia by 14+ and, if that happens, there’s going to be more than a little “obviously, Georgia is down.” That said, there’s a pretty vocal “who has Texas played” contingent out there, though I have no idea what percentage of the whole they constitute. Ultimately, it doesn’t matter. Texas will prove it or not on the field.
  24. It’s possible Bolden felt the ball could get punched out by someone behind Wisner but that doesn’t change the fact that OU made a pretty decent effort at getting the ball out, as opposed to some very run of the mills hits that have caused Blue to fumble.
  25. Anyone who wants to whine about Texas’ opponents can take a look at how they do against teams not named Texas and compare that to how they do against Texas and see if any pattern emerges.
