  1. Lampasas has a chance to make a little run. They play Brazosport (5-5) in the 1st rd. If they get by them, then it's looking like a rematch with La Vernia (9-1). Lampasas lost to La Vernia earlier this year, 51-50 in OT. The Badgers have a young team. I could see them making some noise in the next year or two. Their HC was the OC for North Shore when they won State a couple years ago. He's a Lampasas alum. QB Ace Whitehead - Sophomore - 5'11 175 lefty (178/272, 2548 yds, 30 TD, 4 INT) RB Jack Jerome - Junior - 5'6 170 (165 rush, 1324 yds, 11 TD) WR Cameron Everts - Junior - 6'1 180 (68 rec, 1029 yds, 15 TD) WR Jaylon Porter - Junior - 5'11 170 (50 rec, 637 yds, 7 TD) WR Michael Murray - Sophomore - 6'1 160 (27 rec, 501 yds, 5 TD)
  2. No mention of Liberty Hill? They're murdering people.
  3. Hendrickson is no pushover.
  4. I'm kind of surprised Wagner isn't ranked in 5A. They're 9-1 with the only loss to Judson, 35-28. They've outscored their opponents this year 609-85.
  5. To be fair, nobody in the league s playing any defense so far this year. The scoring is crazy.
  6. A 42 club was started in Lampasas. They're going to meet weekly on Thursdays starting around 6:30pm. It'll be at the Hwy 281 Café & Dance Hall. It's the old AmVet building behind Dairy Queen.
  7. hahaha Lebron with 2 missed FTs and a missed jumper to lose it. Good Game. Thanks.
  8. I have no idea if that link up there works. My phone is freaking out with poor LTE reception. And the timeout to edit a post is stupidly short. Trying again:
  9. A link to a presentation with this project on it was found and posted on SSP, then quickly removed from the source. This was captured, though: http://i64.tinypic.com/ok9x6a.jpg The thinking is that it's the half block parking lot at 7th & San Jacinto.
  10. Spencer just said that some of the computers are showing 11 more inches from now till Sunday in the Hill Country/Llano area.
  11. @llanoflash Text it to your email, then save the file. Then upload it to youtube.
  12. 1 hour ago in Llano.
  13. What's with all this timid BS?
  14. There are always going to be empty spaces in the student sections unless we oversell tickets. Everyone stands and just crams down as close as they can. There could be as many bodies as there are seats, and there will still be open spaces of bleachers. I have no idea how you fix that.
  15. Was The Eyes just a tad slower today?
  16. They did a much better job getting the band onto the field and into their pregame show. No long pauses that ruin the atmosphere. So, I must have been onto something when CDC saw my tweet, although a bunch of sunshine pumpers shat on me. Also liked having the band mic'd up.
  17. I've stayed out of this because I've been fighting this stupid judge and his BS for years. But I have a life and could not keep up with the fight. It's complete crap. They have nothing other than to cry racism. And they knew that would work in Austin. It's pretty pathetic. And Menchaca is NOT Spanish. It is Basque. It was originally spelled Mentxaka. Let's just rename it that. So to say Manchac (French) is wrong, but Menchaca (Spanish?) is right, is stupid. The Basque region lies between both countries. There are influences from both. Was it named after an Indian word? Was it named with French influence from settlers traveling from Louisiana? Yes, that happened. New Orleans to Galveston, and there are newspaper ads for wagon rides into Central Texas with a stop in Manchaca. Some say it can mean "rear entry" or somesuch. If you're coming up from the south, it's kind of like the backdoor to Austin. There was a 1700s fort in Louisiana with the name Manchac. There are many possibilities. That's the point. People like RollLeft say those arguments are all weak. So is the case for Menchaca! It's all based on lore, not fact. When both sides have relatively weak arguments, just leave it alone. Go with local history. They did this same BS when they changed Manchaca Elementary (named after the community) to Menchaca Elementary. It was a PC move back then, and this is just the next step. The city sent letters to the businesses along Manchaca Rd seeking support or opposition. Of the responses they got back, people were overwhelmingly against the change. City council didn't care. Why bother asking if you're just going to ignore your constituents anyway? It's going to be really funny when Menchaca Road intersects with Old Manchaca Road, switches to Manchaca Road further south outside the city, ends in Mancahca, TX which has Manchaca Springs and Menchaca Elementary. Seems very Austin.

  22. Good to know. I'd maybe split one with my friend, but you're right about valuable stomach space.
  23. Did anyone try the funnel cake bacon queso burger last year? Where exactly is it located? I could tell from some Youtube videos that it's in the Midway, but I'm trying to narrow it down in case I want to try it.
