  1. Or he ate everything at the fair, brother <Hulk Hogan voice>
  2. And DOTARD will be at a rally with union workers the day before
  3. My job requires me to be with a lot of people in amazing and joyful life celebrations some days, and walking alongside others in the darkest parts of their existence. I've sat with families as their loved ones breathed their last, and I've contacted parents to tell them that their child has lost their lives in a tragedy (hiking accident, construction mishap). I was on the phone with my dad when he was hospitalized, and spent an hour listening to him tell me why he wanted to kill himself (and convincing him it was a terrible idea). I'm also responsible for telling parents their college student is being taken to the hospital after attempting suicide, and working to create a response and short term support plan for the student and their family. I've done a lot of work on my own internal stuff and regularly train for crisis response and psychological first aid and the like. But nothing prepared me for the focused panic I felt driving my daughter to the ER at 3am this summer after she overdosed and tried to take her own life.
  4. Flying out of Seattle (SeaTac, south of the city), I typically just go with the flight that is some combination of direct/affordable. Would prefer not to leave at 6 am, although that's the typical case for flights going east. But if it's within the parameters allowed, I prefer to fly Alaska out of Paine field (Boeing's campus). They're the only provider at that field at this point, and are limited to primarily flights up and down the west coast. But it's super smooth and really convenient to where I live (north Seattle) . Last time I came in from Los Angeles, I just had a carry on: it was 28 minutes from the plane door opening to my car pulling into the driveway. That kind of convenience is worth paying for.
  5. And turned into Rangers to search for the other sister.
  6. If it matters, he got someone else's order and started the cascade of fucked up food that will ripple across Scotland for decades
  7. "Moving pictures" are still pictures. SRV 1980:
  8. Fixed for Christian Youth Summit accuracy. "Laying on of hands" indeed.
  9. Good call... here's another good cover by them as well:
  10. Sure, but being dp'ed by D.P.s would be a special moments
  11. I talk with college students about "markers of adulthood". Knowing the difference between having something to say and 'having to say something' is near the top of the list. (also? Differentiating between 'can' and 'should')
  12. All I read is "something something this girl something a whip something"
  13. Today's Seattle Times weighs in on the "praying coach" again (nice tattoo as well)
  14. I use this story to teach first amendment stuff in the school of education... And the local coverage from the Seattle Times has been lights out. And from this week... .
  15. Here's how you know you're stupid: Cut all your peppers and onions and such for chili. Scrape seeds and stems and stuff into the sink/garbage disposal. Turn on the disposal. Profit.
