  1. At work, we've gone to using the Lasso Scale to describe how we're doing that day: I tend to naturally gravitate towards Kent, so if I can end the week at Beard it's been a good week
  2. Well, it's certainly nice, but I wouldn't go that far....
  3. I know! Those are Cs at a minimum...
  4. Somebody must have told it that it was cute.
  5. I can't believe we made it to page 5 without this....
  6. Automatic rep for HSR.... well done, my dog.
  7. I can see "it's not work related, because it can impact you at home" being an argument. Not that I agree, but I can understand it. But since we're all working from home, does that matter anymore? Not in Germany, ironically enough...
  8. Finally got around to watching this. Big bucket of "meh". My 14 year old daughter summed it up best- "I have no reason to care about any of these people..."
  9. Well, I've been praying for a Constable Bob spin off... I guess this'll have to do
  10. Michael Harriot goes in on this... Full thread: https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1481519227102134273.html
  11. They yadda yadda yadda'd past the hard part between 58 and 59 seconds
  12. Well, many of these people are pathological, so...
  13. Along the same lines, the whole "Repair Shop" show (used to be on Netflix, now on Discovery+ and YouTube) is perfect for "I want to lose an hour or two" moments
  14. That may be true, but they saved Santa, so they're all right by me. (can't believe that I forgot that pterodactyls not standing the screech of a guitar. thanks Paul!)
  15. I tried that last year, but my right arm atrophied so badly that I struggled to tie my shoes
  16. Ok... Here's mine: Go back off of sugar (did that from 2017 until 2020, and gotta recalibrate instead of self medicating with sweets) Intentional efforts to be mindful- gratitude journal, morning meditation, etc. Related: Planned time away from work. Both vacations (physical time to relax) and structured "no phone, no email, y'all handle your own problems" time during the week. (Given the impending shit show at my job this coming year, it might be easier for me to just resolve to cut my own arms off though). Review my financial plan and make updates as needed (investments and life insurance and other things for the future... Or as an exit strategy if I end up walking away from my job) Talk to my best friend (across the country) weekly and my family more regularly (typically once every three months or so... Gotta do better as they age)
  17. Best? Not by a longshot. Listened to enough to drive my hyper-evangelical mother nuts? You betcha. ("They've got such long hair!" "So did Jesus, mom....you know, the person they're singing about?")
  18. Perhaps four is the maximum number of people you can fool into taking a bite before someone throws it all in the trash and punches you in the face
  19. Same here. Anything dark chocolate is a part of the "tribute" (since the wife won't let me teach them about the vigorish). Initially there were complaints about this when the kiddo was little, so I let her mother take her out for Halloween. When she came back, she actually gave me a Hershey Special Dark to put me on retainer for the following year. Seems that the wife wanting to talk to every parent and visit at each house resulted in only about 1/4 of the regular haul.
  20. Totally agree... Brilliant, but not exactly musically so.
