Often, though, you've already got the connections if you're able to get into the best high schools and universities. A line I really appreciated from the book "Paying for the Party" talked about the mid-level, highly connected and poorly motivated college students- "They and the faculty had an unspoken agreement to not demand too much of each other".
Hey man... that's not a very quality way of looking at things. What did Robert Pirsig ever do to you?
Richard Gere and gerbils, Rod Stewart and stomach pumps.... I truly believe that there used to be some sort of junior high school telepathy frequency that the internet has taken from us.
Especially with SeaTac under renovation, I try to fly out of Paine Field (north of the city, Alaska / Frontier exclusive).
Landed from Hawaii, and had only carried on my luggage. Wife was waiting out front in the pick up zone, and it was 20 minutes from the time the plane door opened until I was at my house (@11 miles away).
Buddy sent this into a group chat, and my brother responded with a rambling screed about how "taking Jesus out of the schools and government is how we got here"
Sigh.
Great weekend for it... Did make it up to the second ledge (a bit higher but much better views and less crowded)
We always try get there right before sunrise.
