  1. Did you end up hitting your ramp and closing that deal!?!
  2. Pink and Imagine Dragon tonight at Oracle Park. Flo Rida and Flava Flav last night. IYKYK.
  3. Today I learned that "let your freak flag fly" was not something people made up to be funny the past 10 years. But a lyric from the 1970 song:
  4. Saw The Sting for the first time not too long ago and noticed our boy JEJ:
  5. Oh crap, maybe I'm the victim of it then. I saw publications dated 9/4 and assumed it was current and up to date on 9/4. I guess it shouldn't surprise me people dust off old news and throw a new date on it for clicks and engagement when something trends.
  6. Flash on Netflix. Felt overly long. Didn't really like it. Better than the MCU multiverse movies though.
  7. Chill out with the neg reps. I think the disinformation and boogeymanning of the issue is horrible. I'm just saying, why not nip the problem in the bud instead of letting it fester and become a talking point and an issue? Especially if there was some illegal activity. I'm not making it up that they did, in fact, arrest gang affiliated Venezualans. The disinformation brigade takes a tiny bit of truth and twists it into a huge lie. https://www.denverpost.com/2024/09/04/venezuelan-gang-colorado-aurora-tren-de-aragua/
  8. I mean, after yesterday...it sounds like jobs with a rationally defensible chance of dying have the pensions (e.g. Cops, Firemen, freaking Teachers(!), dangerous and hazardous field workers in O&G or Steel foundries or heavy duty manufacturing plants, I guess?). White collar nerds I guess just take the measly 401k and appreciate going home to their families, more or less.
  9. So looks like there was some arrests of Tren de Aragua dudes for selling drugs and stolen cars or what not at the apartments yesterday. Why could they not have just done this a week ago and nobody would have had the chance to use disinformation to invent a new boogey man for political reasons?
  10. Yep. Take the agreement from implied to explictly stated (via law), is what I think myself and others are saying, though. For my part, a 1,000 pound gun safe where only I know how to unlock it and in my home office, not even my wife if you can believe that or not. And I don't have any crazy AR-15 like guns, but basic dove hunting shotguns and a little pistola.
  11. I am with you in that Tecovas jumped the shark 3 or 4 years ago, but I guess it could have been debatable. I'm still on their catalog email list because I own a pair or two from yesteryear, and this has got me thinking Tecovas is an unserious person. $200 for a weirdo bathrobe + sweater mashup.
  12. I think it was originally supposed to be, but after the studio re-writes and cutting sessions, it was almost content-wise nothing like anything Asimov except in name only. At least that's what the google intertron tells me.
  13. There was a cop in Dallas who was just, for lack of a better term, executed while sitting in his squad car. He was in his mid-40's and had just transitioned to being a cop from a teacher after a 17 year teaching career. On one hand, you are going from a pension career to a pension career but on the other, I can see how the better pension is enticing. But a stark reminder that police put their lives on the line every night for that pension, I guess. Teachers do too, in a non-zero odds way, but it's really not even worth comparing.
  14. Agree and disagree. There was some serious "early days of greenscreen" going on where Will Smith's background looks as realistic as a background at Olan Mills or Glamour Shots. But other parts weren't as bad.
  15. Interestingly, I just finished reading a short, poppy business psychology book from the 90's called "Who Moved My Cheese?" and I think 99% of Dabo's problem can be summed up in that $9.99, 20 minute read.
  16. I remember reading an eytmology article about the prevalant use of apostrophe names in the African American community (e.g. D'Andre or L'tasha which became DeAndre or DeSean and LaTasha or LeQuita) is because of French influence and was derived from the French colonizer backgrounds (and a lot of the Louisiana Purchase territory) and general slave trade. French names commonly deleted the vowel for the apostrophe back in the day.
  17. I can only assume they have the typical 7-10 murder mystery whodunnit suspects, and all 7-10 are A-list, $20mm a film types.
  18. I, Robot (2004) Really weak, viewing it for the first time in 2024. But 20 years ago when it came out, apparently it did huge box office summer blockbuster numbers and was well received and cutting edge robotics and AI. I, Robot was the baby, sanitized version of an edgier vehicle like Westworld.
  19. What does the super major you work for rhyme with, if you don't want to entirely give the name?
