  1. Elton John pulled out of Dreamforce. Bummer, was probably the last opportunity I'd get to see him. Sing! and Sing2! have given his music a semi-regular spin with the young ones.
  2. Hope you are doing better, 9 days later. I can relate.
  3. Such a beautiful language, sometimes. Truly.
  4. Just saw Harold and the Purple Crayon. Best movie I've seen in the theatres this year (which only include Twisters, Despicable Me 4 and Inside Out 2). I guess there is just something about live action kids movies that are just so much better and funnier than the animation kids movies. I legitimately laughed out loud at different points the entire movie. It's silly and stupid but wholesome and cute for the younger kiddos. Oh and edit to add, it's not really ground-breaking or original, but having Zoey Daschenel (who does look a bit aged) cast to deal with the adult-fish-out-of-water was great because it slides you right back into the Elf mindframe. She was built for those roles.
  5. In 2024, Sark will have us ripping the throats out of our opponents with our teeth. Just read this on the etymology of ball coach: sarkazein in Ancient Greek, literally means “tear flesh like dogs,” https://www.mentalfloss.com/posts/surprising-words-with-shared-etymologies
  6. More of a sport than breakdancing tho.
  7. I loved the Allyn dressing down Corlys scene. “Your little gay heir is “dead” and now you remember an honorable G like me is alive, I don’t want or need you old man, I’m my own man!” That said, this show I’ll contend is really good and the sum of its (eventual) parts will be borderline great. The beating is in the waiting week to week and then 18 months between seasons. If this was a binged over a week and 20-24 hour series, it would be really strong. No clubfoot pun intended. As for me, I think I’ll wait until it’s finished and properly binge the last two seasons instead of trying to follow along real time. I think you remember and enjoy it more that way given the huge gaps.
  8. My question is...if the FBI has direct contact and frequently talks to Chapitos, Mayo, all the top of the pyramid type guys, then they clearly know how to contact them, what their likely whereabouts are, who they interact with, etc. and why can't they just treat them like they do the Hamas or terrorists? With Mexico's approval or their "wink wink" disapproval-but-approval, You know, drone bomb their facilities, sneak a bomb in Mayo's ranch and then months later detonate it, etc.?
  9. https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/george-r-r-martins-game-of-thrones-debuts On this day in 1996, GRRM published GoT.
  10. Wait I thought she was from Spring, Texas. What's this Ohio business.
  11. I actually don't know the answer to this. Am I loser?

I really like EDM, but only the ironic viral ones. So for me. Song of the summer, duh: .
  14. The craziest to me is when (and I've known people literally say this) that "the government" or "the large corporation XYZ" like Microsoft, for example, are secretly masterminding a huge conspiracy with a ton of moving parts and intricate details needed. And I'm just like...dude, I've worked with the government and I've worked with and in organizations XYZ (Big tech, Microsoft, whatever)....and how these entities do anything right quarter after quarter actually baffles me. These organizations are made up of individuals, it's not some living monolith. I'd be surprised if these organizations being romanticized as being omniopotent would be able to secretly synchronize a lunch (I'm exaggerating, but "secrets" like layoffs and M&A are never secret). I just think to these people, "Leadership and C-Suite VP's don't know how to do anything-- haven't you ever worked anywhere before?" And no, most of them have never actually worked anywhere before. Drop them into a government agency or Fortune 500 business and after a year you will have rid them of these big business conspiracy theories.
  15. Please do (find the original information that shows this as cherry picked data). jinx. you owe me a coke.
  16. The human brain is a complex marvel of God, probably the best example of a God and creator IMO, but it can be hurt and broken in a myriad of ways. I have dealt with some mental strain just stress related-- it helps me to empathize with those who have real brain trauma (physical & nuerological) and the problems it causes in becoming anti-social. Just thought I'd add that as an appeal for empathy for these people, versus just a dismissal of them as not worth being a friend or family because their brand of mental illness is one that tries your intellectual patience the most or is more mentally exhausting.
  17. I tend to think these people (who are friends and family) aren't stupid or intentionally anatagonistic, but the "real deal" conspiracy theorists are usually suffering some form of mental illness. So you can say "just cut them off, don't have time for idiots" but would you say the same if your friend or family is, say, depressed? or bipolar? etc.?
  18. Just waking up from a 4 year hibernation apparently, but is Russia not fielding a team like at all? Not even the "Neutral" or "ROC" designation? Hard to imagine they don't compete for a medal if they are actually in the games, but maybe they just suck.
  19. Yea Young Tully with the little girl from the North in GoT energy. Daemon went with it and showed some flexibility and adaptability tho
  20. My Venezualan friends are sad to see this today.
  21. What kind of car is everyone getting their first time drivers? I've googled "most safe vehicles" to get a baseline, but trying to balance optimizing on year, mileage and reliability as well.
