  1. What's weird is that Florida is even playing the game at all.
  2. You watched 16 minutes? I made it 9 seconds at work, with no sound. I already was one, and grew up around, 1980s dorks, so I think I'm good.
  3. Okay. The point was I still they would shut it down for a music video, but I guess if they were setting up and weren't filming yet, it may have been open.
  4. It is weird though right?. Wouldn't the bridge be shut down to vehicles and bystanders? Was she part of the production crew? An extra and they ran out of craft services?
  5. Jordan sighting. That dude was so nails in the ALCS.
  6. Y'all are just misunderstanding ol' Elon. What he means is that he has so many children that he can just "give a child" to her. Kinda like the parking lots full of Cybertrucks, there are plenty of 'em available.
  7. Lemme just check my pre-season win prediction...one second... Yep, my wildly exuberant, exaggerated confidence was a little misplaced. But NEXT season we're definitely winning 117. Unless Rocker sucks tomorrow.
  8. What in the... I had to look up "interrobang" and now I'm surlier. Someone named Martin Spinchter, or something, "invented" it. And the world is a little worse. Now I wonder if in Spanish they do the double upside to start it. ¡¡Pinche estupida puntuación!!
  9. On the topic of punctuation, those who think that a single question mark isn't enough to indicate that it's a question. Or that a single exclamation doesn't communicate any alert or any excitement at all. I don't know why they think that, but I get texts like this!! Why?? It irritates me to no end because I "hear" the question as urgent in my head. What's happening?? I don't know, but it is annoying!! Why can't they just be satisfied with one question mark???
  10. What exactly was sensational on it? I'm stating multiple facts of what's happening in response to "Why is this a big deal?" which didn't make sense as a question and seems to ignore dozens of factors. If you don't want it to be a big deal, I agree. I think it shouldn't be and "wish" it weren't. Yet 9+ pages of replies blew up on this "story" in a few hours because of those factors and national news stories keep getting churned out on it to continue to make it a bigger deal. I'm not the source of the sensationalism in this thread, that's for sure. I think both sides claiming it's all the other are idiots. As is often the case. That's about it.
  11. This is sarcasm right? Why it is being made a big deal: 1) Handcuffing a pro football player on camera just before he plays in an NFL game. 2) Said football player already being a magnet for controversy and having multiple prior run-ins with police and the law with accusations of significant domestic abuse and illegal actions. 3) Afterwards a spotlight is put on it by his employer with a formal statement condemning the police. Hill adds to it "What if I wasn't Tyreek Hill?" and that he would be dead if he wasn't who he is. 4) Acho, sports "news" outlets and other instigators posting it all over with words like "disgusting." 5) Non-athletes and athletes, some with hundreds of thousands of followers, amplify it and repeat that it's disgusting and disturbing. 6) People, given some of the above and past provoking incidents involving cops and arrests and black people, decide to be provoked and make it a big deal without thinking "Oh. Looks like both sides were fucking dumbasses. How about that. So what's for dinner?"
  12. For the reaction, and the number of posts above. And fuck DeShaun Watson but fuck the NFL and ownership as much or even more for -- yet again -- protecting and even rewarding their own and ignoring abuse. Oh, sorry, "allegedly".
  13. Melon Husks - the vacuous idiots that buy Cybertrucks and stan for all things Elon.
  14. There's a lot of "This is true and this is true and this is true" in the video, and the thread. And very little of it is all on the same side. There's also a lot of blind people ignoring the obvious, unless the viewpoint -- without facts in this specific case to back it up -- is that they pulled him over because he's black. Which could happen. But what IS visible and known is - a driver is pulled over by a policeman for, presumably, a moving violation. - a lot of motorcycle cops there (4?) and more than seemed usual for a moving violation. - first thing I heard is Hill be confrontational to a cop who -- it seems -- hadn't done anything up to that point other than ask for information. Hill's first words were "Don't knock on my window like that!" and say it repeatedly and then I can't hear what's said until "Go do what you gotta do" and Hill rolls the window back up. - Officer orders him to roll it back down. Hill doesn't. He opens it a crack and says "don't tell me what to do." - After that the cops definitely escalate, because that's what cops do when given THE SLIGHTEST provocation to do so. So would anyone here be fine on ACTING like Hill acted here? Regardless of what the cop did afterwards, none of which I'm justifying. If it were my kid who did any of these things I'd tell him he was being an utter moron. 30+ years ago I was taught in driver's Ed to NOT do things that provoked or caused alarm during traffic stops. We were taught to roll down the window, stay in the car, keep your hands visible and provide your license and registration and wait. And I'm a white dude and do those things every damn time. I'll teach my kids to do those things every damn time. Because even 30, 40 plus years ago it was known not to provoke a cop. Does it make the cops "right" in this situation or many others? Nope. But the whole "What if I wasn't Tyreek Hill?" response afterword is just stupid, and completely irresponsible for anything he did. "I didn't do nothin." Yeah you did. You were speeding. You then acted like a confrontational dick who obviously also wanted to start something or "make a point." Also if you weren't Tyreek "I've been accused of beating women, children and marina employees and breaking laws and breaking arms and breaking legs" Hill, maybe nothing more happens because then you don't do things to escalate it by being an asshole. And being Tyreek Hill in those previous situations actually helped your ass out a lot. Because other guys accused repeatedly of violence and breaking arms, legs and assaulting staff etc wouldn't have a job or be free men still. TLDR; dumbasses and assholes deserve each other.
  15. Wow. Figured we'd get a deGrom start before Rocker. Let 'er rip.
  16. 1. Great title. 2. The line "If there was any possibility of Segal staying to work for Musk, it evaporated at that moment." Talk about a sigh of relief.
  17. Did ol' Sid mention the cryptocurrency "businesses" using 1.5 million gallons of water per day? No? Shocking.
  18. Use two tarps. Foolproof. Like condoms and hookers.
  19. Texas 48 UTSA 10 297 - Q 98 - A 0 Would be much more but Sark could have had them score 50+ at Michigan and called them off pretty much the entire 2nd half. If anything 48 may be too high.
  20. I posted in the aggy thread. It's 100% trolling clickbait. Even more obvious because every team requires a click to artificially drive up their numbers. Kind of like their football team playing FCS opponents to artificially drive up their record.
  21. The amazing part is I invented the most ludicrous "analysis" by this guy in a fake preview of his Week 2 Rankings. It took me about 45 seconds Sunday morning as a goof. And I wasn't that far off. Yet he probably labored over this for hours ... or then again, maybe not. Edited to add their schtick is clearly troll clickbait. Even the dumbass format where every team is a new page requiring a click.
