  1. In the SEC, clipping is referred to as mopery.
  2. Things have to get VERY unequal in the ACC to even come close to bridging the gap between FSU/Clemson and the SEC & B1G. It diesn't seem like FSU can break the GOR, and as of this moment they don't have a clear path to the SEC or B1G, so why should anyone else in the ACC grab their ankles for FSU & Clemson?
  3. FSU and Clemson are arguing the contract is invalid, so why would they be expected to care about a date stipulated in the contract?
  4. X is going to win a lot of people their fantasy leagues.
  5. Just our luck, college players can finally be comensated at an unlimited level and, somehow, Texas targets & prioritizes the only 5* recruits in history who don't care about money.
  6. Your posts always suggest one of two things: #1 Oregon is on another level than everyone else when it comes to NIL $ #2 The key targets we are losing to Oregon are making decisions that aren't based on $ It's a big stew of cognitive dissonance.
  7. He could have a freshman year like X if we give him the chance.
  8. Disparaging Van Halen is bad enough, but to do it in the Nick Townsend thread is just too much.

  10. This is the best day of my life.
  11. I am sure these people are thrilled that Phil is dumping millions to high school kids through NIL. https://www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/Articles/2024/07/08/nike-layoffs-top-positions
  12. That is the absolute bullshit narrative being pushed by guys who like to feel important by flexing their internet nuts around here. If you believe what those people have to say about NIL, I can get you a sweetheart deal on the Intracoastal Waterway Bridge in Matagorda.
  13. Obviously, you are correct. What happened decades will factor into Oregon's potential for success this year exponentially more so than their current coaches or roster. If they beat Ohio State & Michigan and go undefeated into the B1G title game, they will do so knowing that the playoff committee likely won't let them into the playoffs because of what Oregon football did in the 50s & 60s.
  14. Oregon is a stepping stone job until it isn't. If you look at their scedule and their roster, they have a real shot of making the semifinals. They are a legit title contender. If Lanning wins it all there, everything changes.
  15. If they beat Ohio State at home & Michigan on the road, they are likely going undefeated into the playoffs. The truth. And that gets you negged around here.
  16. What % change takes an ask from reasonable to absolute insanity? Is there a conversion chart? If we lose this player, with this background in our state, at this talent level, at this position, with the QB room we have......something is officially wrong with the people in charge of our NIL apparatus. I know this is upsetting to you, but it is the truth. Fire off some ad hominem attacks. I know it will make you feel better. However, we aren't aggies. We can objectively analyze all aspect of our program.
  17. I wonder how many important guys we will lose to teams "paying above market" before we are at least open to the idea that we might be below market.
