  1. So, Bama has 3 QBs who can't hit water from a boat and an Offensive coordinator who doesn't know the offense. As long as Ja'Tavion Finkley comes to play, we are a lock.
  2. Once 5-star recruits see Hoda Kotb in West Lafayette, they won't be able to commit fast enough to Purdue.
  3. I was really torn between 8 & 9 wins. I voted 9 wins. I think we can get to 9 if we phase out our 2 starting guards from last season. Maybe.
  4. Why? They have had generations to do something that matters on the field and they couldn't pull it off. They have high school level stadiums - they've made no serious commitment to high-level football. Oregon state is around 150 in the US News academic rankings and Washington State is outside of the top 200 - maybe it is time for them to at least try to give a fuck about academics. As of now, they suck at absolutely everything.
  5. How did the Pac presidents stop themselves from laughing out loud at Kliavkoff when he was presenting this deal?
  6. Stop this nonsense. All of the same schools are still playing football. The Rose Bowl will still exist. Oregon State will play football in a fringe conference which is where they belong. The only major change is different conference administrators will be overpaid - that's it.
  7. CFB, including realignment, is mostly about schadenfreude to me. That is why I am rooting for the Pac/ACC merger. I'm for anything that will lead to FSU suing Arizona State.
  8. ESPN's financial struggles are known. If FSU moves to a non-ESPN conference, that is a financial hit for ESPN...no bueno. If FSU moves to an ESPN-affiliated conference, they would only do it for more money, so that means ESPN is paying more for FSU games it had on the cheap when they were in the ACC....no bueno. ESPN wants FSU right where they have them.
  9. This isn't it. The FSU Board Chair was on Warchant before their big meeting yesterday. He told those guys that unequal revenue sharing is on the table, but at most, it would mean an additional $5million a year. That doesn't come close to making up the difference between FSU and their rivals. The B1G makes all the sense in the world for FSU. Florida TV markets that they don't have now are of great value. Of course, this would make ESPN oppose that move all the more.
  10. My guess is they have a legal strategy to attack the GOR. It may or may not be valid, it may or may not work....but they have a theory. I think the grandstanding is to set the stage for their fans. This is a unique situation. This isn't like Texas & OU saying we will leave the Big 12 when our contract is up. This is a school burning a long-term contract to the ground. This is going to involve a nasty & protracted legal process. They want FSU fans to be convinced that all of the unpleasantness is necessary.
  11. I watched the whole meeting. It was unlike anything I have ever seen. The bald guy who is the chair of the board was supremely confident they had a plan and twice said he would be back in touch with an update "soon." He had a sly smile like an aggie who found a lost sheep on a deserted country road. A lot of people think FSU will wait a year. I don't think so. I think they drop whatever bomb they think they have in their arsenal before 8/15.
  12. A couple of weeks ago, I would have 100% agreed. I don't think anything is off the table right now.
  13. They are leaving the ACC. At the end of the meeting, twice, the chairman of the board had a sly smile on his face and said he would have an update sooner rather than later. Obviously, they already have a landing spot. They gone. Every board member agreed that staying in the ACC is not an option.
  14. I just watched the FSU Board meeting. I've never seen anything like that. Multiple things they said are legally actionable right now. This will get so ugly.
  15. I travel a pretty good bit. I enjoy sports bars. I love going to a new city on a Saturday or Sunday in the fall and taking with different football fans. I also drink a lot. My marriage is in trouble.
  16. I'm in sports bars all over. Most of the time, asking a sports bar employee to find a different game on a different channel is liking asking a 10 year old to get an A on a Differential Equations exam at MIT. I thinking asking a sports bar employee to find a game on Apple TV will lead to a rash of murder-suicides.
  17. ACC and Pac fans who talk about the academic benefits of playing in a certain conference (other than the B1G) are a lot like people who believe in bigfoot. They are passionate about their beliefs, but get really upset when you press them for specifics.
  18. I don't know what any of that means, but I believe it.
