    Shit My Kid Says

    Yoga goals are important.
  9. As soon as you plug in the external, all new stuff goes there. Old stuff remains on the internal.
  10. Is anyone else playing on PS4 getting a lot of crashing? I get at least one sometimes more CE-34878-0 error codes. I’ve tried reinstalling. I’ve tried restarting. I tried it on a slim and a pro unit. It seems like there are other people online with the issue. I’ve only had it happen in BO4, not Spider-Man or any of the VR games. It didn’t happen in CODWW2. But BO4, it is happening for the last week or so and it’s making it not fun. I know there was a new update today and I haven’t played yet. Has anyone had success vanquishing this frustrating error? My next step will be to delete the game and initialize the system but I didn’t want to delete all my game data or go through the hassle of backing up my other stuff.
  11. Almost as bad as dealing with fidgety liars that need Sudafed and some needles.
  12. Alien was great. Building suspense throughout. Scariest movie at the time. Something I always appreciated is that the ship was dirty. Contrast that to the USS enterprise. Functional cargo ship in space with a speedboat vs elegant craft with magical devices. And it looked like the eventual evolution of space travel: corporate focused with expendable crew. Not humanitarian focused. Star Wars was mentioned earlier which is somewhere in between the two for ship environment but it was a long, long time ago not the eventual future. Also, don’t forget, in 1979 we were still relatively early in the space exploration business. Aliens were humanoid or whatever Star Trek suggested (fuzzy critters or blobs but usually humanoid). This was a very a different alien and presented an existential threat we were introducing to the world. In jaws, we knew the enemy. In Alien and the Thing, we didn’t know what we were dealing with and it could be hiding in plain sight or viciously hideous. Either way, it appeared unescapable. My favorite aspect in this horror is the same in most zombie flicks. There may be a horrible monster but the worst monster is human nature. When presented with a threat, in this case greed (in zombie flicks it is usually self preservation) was more important than saving lives. I liked the actors. I liked the pace. I liked the cinematography. It was great.
  13. The other thing that happened was tuition deregulation. I got out with $45k in loans for undergrad and professional school. Kids today have easy 6 figures. I have no idea how the current crop can read the lay of the land and move forward knowing 6 years minimum gets you that debt and poor prospects.
  14. This guy has the truth. Every word. Horror story: I had a pharmacist friend that had a colonoscopy planned. She asked off for the day before and day of the procedure so that she could do the bowel prep the day before. They refused to cover the prep. So she followed the doctors advice and started he prep on shift. She spent the last 4 hours on the toilet and wasn’t able to verify a thing. She directed her tech to call the district manager to come cover the pharmacy as her pharmacist was decidedly unavailable.
  15. It was different when I started. Between when I started pre-pharmacy curriculum and when I graduated, starting salaries jumped 30% and staffing was acceptable. I didn’t even get to enjoy the good ole days because my first gig was military earning half of what my classmates did. By the time I got out of the military, the market was getting tight. The market shifted in the last 10 years and the marketplace is much more miserable. If I started now, I would have chosen a different path.
  16. Billing (if I remember correctly) with insurances you bill for a dispensing fee + percentage of average wholesale price. Example: levothyroxine $2 dispensing fee plus 80% of $17 awp. $19 is what you bill. But you may have bought that on contract for $15. Drug prices go up and the insurance companies renegotiate to bring their costs down. You may take a loss on some to satisfy a contract with an insurance company to get access to more profitable prescriptions. There is a difference between average wholesale price and actual acquisition cost so there is a margin. Profits come from volume and OTC sales which is why the corps track metrics so hard. Contract negations over years worked the margins down to bare bones where independents find it hard to support their business. Generics are cheaper for the insurance company but typically carry a larger margin for pharmacies because there is competition amongst generic companies.
  17. Please video the trash collectors face on pickup day. AFHV gold
  18. Both can. The pharmacy definitely does but the individual can. Very few of my peers do.
  19. There are other areas but largely yes. Retail. Hospital. Independents still exist but the numbers are dropping. Most successful independents are compounding pharmacies that prepare things the chains aren’t equipped or trained to make. Nuclear pharmacy. Military. Drug study monitoring. Long term care facilities. Anticoagulation clinic staffing. Drug development. Oncology centers. Health system administration. All avenues for pharmacists.
  20. There’s a surplus of pharmacists as they opened too many schools. The salary is dropping.
  21. Nope. Just relaying the message on your pharmacists behalf.
  22. Nailed it almost. You forgot rare bathroom breaks and understaffed. But we do it because we “just want to help people”.
  23. Thanks for noticing. -your pharmacist.
  24. Good advice. Thanks.
  25. Thanks for the rev. That looks promising.
