  1. I understand the logic behind the sentiment; I just don't agree with it. But I also don't agree with rampant abuse of power, which is why I've been a "Bernarder" since ShaggyBevo days.
  2. I'm absolutely not a cop hater. I don't subscribe to the "all cops are bad" mantra. But the pot-bellied idiot in that video is absolutely a bad cop. His first and only answer to _any_ comment or action he doesn't like is to get physical. He is ill-tempered, abusive and officious. As for Tyreek's behavior, would you extend the same logic to your own children? If they said or did something you didn't like, would the best and, really, only solution in your eyes be to immediately escalate to a physical response? Dear god, I hope not. But that's exactly what that cop did. Criticize Tyreek for being a shit all you want--he's already proven that--but please don't defend that officer. His actions are inexcusable.
  3. Not to butter you up or make this awkward, but it truly is a blessing to have your perspective on these issues. The fact that you also generate some hilarious GIFs from time to time is icing on the cake.
  4. Again, nothing Tyreek said or did merits the use of physical force even once, let alone twice. Attitude and disrespect are not justification to yank someone out of a car and arrest them. If that's the world you want to live in, your choice, but please stop responding to me because I want no part of it. Go advocate your terrible take with someone else.
  5. I thought you weren't allowed to come within 300 yards of a stadium after the "Rout 66" disaster?
  6. Could Tyreek have handled that better? Sure. But nothing justifies how quickly that one small-dick-energy prick was to get physical with Tyreek (TWICE!) and how he later rolled in hot on the two guys in the SUV, talking over his own partner with conflicting instructions. Peace officers absolutely should be held to a higher standard. This was well below that.
  7. Holy shit. I'm not exactly a Tyreek fan and was expecting him to come out looking poorly here. Nope, shoulda known better. Seems like yet another gross overreaction from those ostensibly employed to "protect and serve."
  8. Believe you might be right. The heart, attitude and athleticism are all there.
  9. The Riddle of Steel Yes, you know what it is, don't you boy? Shall I tell you? It's the least I can do. Steel isn't strong, boy. Flesh is stronger! Look around you. There, on the rocks--a beautiful girl! Come to me, my child... That is strength, boy! That is power! What is steel compared to the hand that wields it? Look at the strength in your body, the desire in your heart, I gave you this! Such a waste. Contemplate this on the tree of woe. Crucify him! RIP to Thulsa Doom, Lt. Zogg and everything else he played. One of the greatest voices ever recorded.
  10. Longhorns 62, Roadrunners 6 384 total yards passing (206, 178, 0)
  11. Maybe she was just quoting Dire Straits at the very end there.
  12. Homemade fettuccine is super easy. Two heaping spoonfuls of semolina flour and one egg per person. Salt to taste. Those are actually all the ingredients you need. Blend by hand, with a stand mixer or a food processor. Turn out on a floured surface and continue flouring as you roll it thin. Once you've achieved the desired thickness, roll the entire sheet of pasta into a thin tube and then slice into strips. Unroll the strips and boil for about a minute. Then, add them directly to whatever sauce you have made in a skillet. The undercooked pasta will soak up some of the sauce yet remain al dente as long as you don't overcook. Shrimp scampi with fresh fettuccine is a snap and will impress anyone lucky enough to dine with you that evening.
  13. Tech doesn't deserve to celebrate Leach or have any posthumous association with him. They fired him under a false pretense, refused to pay him as agreed, then hid behind sovereign immunity and delaying tactics until he DIED. I don't blame Tech fans because most I know weren't on board with Hance & Co.'s actions. That said, super glad Wazzu won that game and, in the process, absolutely humiliated the program.
  14. That was a great strike but not at all relevant to my post or the point I was making.
  15. Agent 0 had himself quite a debut yesterday. Credit @gofuckyourself for the screencap.
  16. It was definitely a tale of two halves, not unlike yesterday's Michigan game. Both Texas and Dallas staked themselves to big leads and then backed off/lost focus. McCarthy called a good first half (his timeout idiocy notwithstanding), but reverted to form in the second half. Dak also missed some easy throws that he was making in the first.
  17. If he's going to be this good coming off the edge as a true freshman, No.11 is a good one for him. I'll also accept No.98.
  18. Carolina had three ball turnovers ... and two turnover on downs, so that's essentially five turnovers. NO didn't actually roll up that many yards. But it's the NFL. They are all professionals, and most are highly motivated. Take your eye off the ball for a second and shit will derail in a hurry. EDIT: Wrong stats. Saints only had 379 total yards, though--thanks to those short-field opportunities.
  19. If they stay healthy, I'd say yes. IMO, Parsons fades late in seasons because he gets worn down. He's slight by NFL standards. For all his explosiveness, he's a finesse player, so he needs rest and a little luck on his side. All the more reason to be a bit steamed at the coaches for leaving him in for these final couple of meaningless series.
