  1. Sort of crosses the line from foreboding prediction into desperate wishcasting.
  2. El Tri easily could've scored three by now.
  3. That's the taxonomical binomial for brown (grizzly) bear. Cool name for a ship.
  4. I picked up a Fubo.tv one-week free trial. Will cancel immediately after the match ... but it's in Spanish, so probably not much help.
  5. Haha yeah, that confirms my tinfoil hat suspicions. Seeding based on QF point differential when Canada got to play Suriname. LMAO.
  6. Aka, the Horrible Oribe.
  7. Do you know which team the US would face in the semis? My guess is Panama because I rate them second best in CONCACAF right now and believe the league wants to prevent the USMNT from winning a fourth-straight title. Explains why the Nats faced Jamaica in the quarterfinals and Mexico and Canada got ... checks notes ... Honduras and Suriname, respectively. To add to Ted Lange's quip, I wouldn't be surprised if match refs go all out to find a way to help Mexico advance. El Tri will need it--they are at their nadir.
  8. So not only is Rodgers a coach killer, he's now a GM killer. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/42487178/sources-jets-fire-gm-joe-douglas-amid-woeful-season Quite the conflicted legacy he's going to leave. For several years, he was arguably the best quarterback in the league. Then he F-E-L-L-O-F-T, started opening his mouth on non-football matters, went to the Jets, didn't do shit, and ... profit?
  9. I have had it ... with these motherfucking hamsters ... on this motherfucking plane!!!!
  10. This is more WTF than Holy Shit. Simply embarrassing. First comment takes the cake. "You know this dude has never returned a shopping cart in his entire life."
  11. The same applies to Big Red, nectar of the gods.
  12. "By the way, we know where the panels are going to fall when we decide to open the roof or not. We do know where the damned tiles are going to fall in our own stadium."
  13. It requires teamwork, effort and creativity to generate an uncontested layup or a wide-open J from the elbow. Threes are easy by comparison. They are also more efficient (as long as you're converting them at a high-enough percentage). Plus, they generate long rebounds and force opponents to start defending at the logo, which opens up more of the floor. It was inevitable the moment the 3-point shot became official. What's really shocking is that it took 45 years for the league to get to this point. Another idea: teams are allotted so many 3s per quarter. After that, they just count for 2. From a spectator's perspective, basketball is best when there's movement, passing and teamwork. Hero/iso ball and endless 3-point chucking represent the antithesis of that.
  14. Ah, you bastard--don't get me sidetracked on M&C! Pretty much a perfect movie, imo, with a soundtrack to match. I've always loved how this piece tells a whole story by itself:
  15. Good to see the update, @RDCanecutter! I know you've had some much more important problems to tackle but hope you're recovering and feeling well enough to keep building. I've done very little modeling in the past 3-4 years. Just can't seem to find the mojo. Maybe some activity here will inspire me. LoL
  16. That first half was one of the best in a long time for our Nats. CP10, Weah, Pepsi & Co. dominated possession ... and with purpose. Don't know what the intermission stats were, but I'd imagine possession was close to 80/20 for the U.S. with much of it being meaningful instead of the usual backpassing or futile attempts to play wide and cross to nobody. Furthermore, it was intoxicating to see the team continue to play positive in the second half. Even with the subs on, our Nats remained aggressive and creative, some times playing fast and direct, then methodical and wide, and others still immediate and long, such as Weston picking out Puli for the opener. All in all, some of the best attacking soccer I've seen from the USMNT in quite some time. On the other hand, our backline continues to disappoint. They don't pick up runners very well, are hesitant to close down dribblers, and repeatedly allowed Jamaica to serve the ball into the middle from the wings, often to an attacker running in space because someone is watching and reacting rather than anticipating and moving. That said, Jamaica is a solid side by CONCACAF standards and a tough quarterfinal draw. Very pleased overall with the aggregate results. Anybody have advanced metrics to share? EDIT--One last bitch: that Jamaica could go a full 90 and only get whistled for three fouls is absolute horseshit.
  17. And just as soon as you 'splain the rules ... ... koopa follows with that.
  18. Looks like y'all could make a "recycled" seafood gumbo from your redfish catches. Probably better than Chef "Wheels" Pierre's classic Roadkill Gumbo.
  19. They still make understated, utilitarian boards these days. In fact, most "enthusiasts" frown upon shinethru keycaps and 104-key layouts like what I'm using. And they wouldn't be caught dead with a Redragon product. Haha.
  20. So you're saying he "lost" his passport?
  21. Ups for being a fellow 104-keyer. I'd wager you could make something similar or better. There really is that much flexibility. Do you know the keycap profile of that board? Looks kinda flat, so I'm guessing something similar to XDA or DSA. For my board, I'm using a cheap K556 from Reddragon. https://www.amazon.com/Redragon-K556-Mechanical-Keyboard-Aluminum/dp/B01NAI2TXC?th=1 But there are better (more expensive but generally more favorably reviewed and looked upon by "enthusiasts") options, starting with Keychron. https://www.keychron.com/ Back to my board, everything under the plate, including the PCB, is stock, but I've replaced the switches, stabs, keycaps and cord. If you know what to look for, you can pretty much achieve any look, feel or functionality that you desire.
