  1. You're absolutely entitled to your opinion. I appreciate your posts on the JWST and astrophysics in general. Soccer, eesh, not so much.
  2. Aside from missing yesterday's early matches for work, I've watched the entire Euro tournament. My takeaway is the opposite: this has been an excellent event overall. Did the two late matches yesterday blow ass? Absolutely. But since one of them featured Angerland, that is to be expected. I normally am all about the Copa--regardless if the US or other CONCACAF teams are involved--but most of this year's Copa has been a drag compared to what the Euro has delivered. The difference in entertainment value has been night and day. Even Euro VAR has been vastly superior to its Copa version. Seriously, @sidis, has your Euro viewing experience been limited to yesterday's late matches and that's why you formed such a negative opinion? Or do you maybe just hate soccer? I genuinely don't know how any fan of the sport could not be pleased with the overall product that Euro 2024 has provided to date. Bizarre take, imo.
  3. This has been a very entertaining match. Not necessarily well played (or well finished), but very entertaining.
  4. Haha @ that Olimpico attempt from Messi. And on the next corner, GOOOOOOOL!!!!
  5. Only partially set, I believe. https://texassports.com/sports/mens-basketball/schedule
  6. Two turntables and a microphone!
  7. So far, CONCACRAP has not embarrassed itself. Only losses are to fellow confederation members.
  8. I do not want to see the Spurs trade away any picks in this less-than-impressive draft. However, I wouldn't mind seeing them sign a "washed" veteran like Klay Thompson for a budget-friendly deal (if he's amenable to that) cuz we definitely need some outside shooters. I think he's got enough left in the tank to do that for SA ... while also teaching the young turks something about work ethic.
  9. Counterpoint: maybe the English players aren't as good as everyone thinks.
  10. If you're theorizing that this is US Soccer's approach, then I'm concerned for the USSF. If this is your mindset, then I'm concerned for you, because the elitism described above is not how you grow a sport.
  11. Key here is only 3 shots on goal out of 19 attempts. Still, one of the more lopsided boxscores I've seen for a draw.
  12. How, Brasil? How is that possible?
  13. Greg obviously overlooking the fact that each entree comes with a cookie. Sheesh.
  14. Some of the close control and passing in tight spaces the Brasileiros exhibit is dazzling ... but when it comes time to shoot ... meu Deus!
  15. Agree. Was surprised that was overturned. Brasil did have a player offside when the free kick was struck, but he was not active or involved in the actual play--he was not the guy who flicked the ball on, nor was he the goalscorer. For me, a curious decision.
  16. That's not funny; that's just sad.
  17. Wonder if Ronaldinho is watching ...
  18. Paraguay pulls one back; not going quietly into that good night ... just yet.
  19. 1) Wrong. The result was deserved only because the tactics and effort were poor. Given the players available, there was no excuse for losing 5-1 in a friendly to Colombia. 2. Irrelevant. See #1. 3. See #1. 4. No excuse for Brasil to lose to any team 7-1, which is why heads rolled and changes were made. Nevertheless, straw argument. 5. Also no excuse for El Tri, which is why heads rolled and changes were made. Again, straw argument.
  20. USMNT is far from the best, but it shouldn't be losing 5-1 to anyone.
  21. Have enjoyed Paraguay's striped jerseys since the days of Chilavert. And this latest version of Colombia's kit does a good job of paying homage to the traditional look.
  22. Seems only a matter of time before fans of all countries start yelling "Puto!"
  23. They are certainly trying.
