  1. This is the reason PATFO makes their money. Rushed, panic decisions rarely work out well. If all we're going to get it a shit sandwich, that same shit sandwich will still be there for a few months. Or it might get better. Probably won't get worse. So there's not a ton of downside now; could we have gotten something marginally better pre Decision 3.0? Who knows. For all anyone knows, LA knew that they had LeBron on lock and it was already affecting their trade offers for Kawhi.
  2. It will be satisfying to watch his 1000 yard stare as he scratches his head and chews his tongue from the bench as the Spurs beat his new team’s ass!
  3. They need to get the Monica tv/documentary chick nekkid
  4. I wonder do the Lakers have enough to sign PG, Lebron and still offer a package for Kawhi? If Lebron and PG go to LA, our leverage decreases because LA's urgency to make an immediate offer is gone; they'll have 2 stars and can wait another year to pick up Kawhi.
  5. Who directly report to those who do and can often be either terminated, have their career growth shunted or be warehoused if they don't acquiesce. This isn't a hard concept and there are lots of other arguments against this ruling, why go for the bad one?
  6. Be smarter than that. It's the politician's appointees and the people who work for the politicians.
  7. He may end up another Stephen Jackson where he regretted leaving...but it's his life to live and I'm sure he'll cry himself to sleep on his bed made of money.
  8. Until he only plays until the all-star break and then holds himself out of key games to not get injured and fuck us. Keeping someone who doesn't want to be here after the relationship is fractured is toxic. Either fix it and hold him or ship him out for what we can get. If it's the latter, he'll be a pariah in SA, especially if he ends up at LA.
  9. As a Spurs fan, I recognize that their run has been against-all-odds unprecedented for a small market team over the past 20+ years. But as a fan of the NBA, this action of players getting more and more aggressive about shunning smaller market teams sucks for the game. We're going to end up with players refusing to play anywhere but GS, NYC, LA, Chicago, and Houston. Not sure what that will do to the game's popularity but it seems pretty uninteresting if you know your team has zero chance not just this year, but forever because vets won't come or leverage their way out (see: Paul George and Kawhi Leonard) and new draftees flat refuse to go there (see upthread). Would Gary Payton stay in Seattle today? Would Karl Malone stay in SLC? They'd refuse to re-sign and move to Los Angeles IMO.
  10. This. I'm not sure what the options are for the Association, but I'd expect the owners to try to address this in the next CBA. Current one runs through '23-24 w/ mutual opt out in '22-23. Maybe minimum 2-year contracts on trades? It also wouldn't surprise me to see Silver leverage the Kawhi health situation into something I think he's always wanted: NBA doctors who are "impartial" checks to the team doctors - to discourage the DNP-bullshit injury that Pop was making a trend for player longevity.
  11. High stakes game of chicken...can Kawhi hold out this year on us if we don't trade him? I guess that's the ultimate question, would we give up his play this year and then potentially get nothing next year when he walks?
  12. He'll probably post better stats, because his usage will skyrocket. He'll also get injured again, but no one in NYC or LA will give a fuck, because they'll want to wear out the treads on their new toy. That's what kills me; PATFO is the trailblazer on managing our players for longevity, yet somehow he feels "betrayed" in that regard.
  13. Question: will there ever be a more hated ex-Spur if Kawhi leverages his way out of SA, especially if he manages to find his way to the Lakers?
  14. The kind where it's made up in his head and his uncle's head as an excuse to leave.
  15. Fuck him if this is true. Fuck him 100%. Bury him in Charlotte, Sacramento, or post-LeBron Cleveland. So frustrating - I thought he was the next guy up after Tim. How can it degrade so fast, and with so little apparent communications from him. Fucking A if you have an issue, talk about it w/ Pop, jesus!
  16. Oh my god you got me! Good one! Back on topic, she was saying that she wanted the pool to be wider/girthier and longer, and that she'd find it much more satisfying if it were. Also that the finish was too light; she really wanted it darker.
  17. Has anyone here every taken an existing in-ground pool and enlarged it? We have a relatively small ~15x25' rectangular pool and wife (no pics) is making noises about wanting to make it larger. I think she's watched too many episodes of "extreme pools" ...
  18. You need to tweet CDC this question.
  19. I hope so, love this show. The points about the costs being too high for it to be picked up I'm not sure are the most relevant, b/c it is about subs now. Also, the costs are 100% taken on by the production company, this isn't a funded show like some others - I think the bigger hangup is on rights negotiations. I'm guessing that the owners made money on both sides since the SyFy deal was only for direct viewing/linear rights, and S1 and 2 were streaming on Prime, so they were making money on the backend for that syndication - it wasn't going to SyFy. Amazon is probably the best candidate to pick it up now, since they have the earlier seasons. I'm kind of surprised the viewership is so low, considering the quality. I think that's a function of how it was measured (direct/linear viewing on SyFy only, not counting streamers via Amazon or delayed watchers).
  20. Does anyone have the link to the aggy dirt testing service? I have no idea what kind of dirt we have in Cedar Park, aside from rocky AF.
  21. "...new research has just arisen and the date is actually 2057!"
