  1. I do not have a road bike nor am I a cyclist but clipping in for spin class vastly improves the experience. Like someone said above—it allows you to not only push down on the pedals but to pull up as well. It also makes it much, much easier to be stable out of the saddle. It’s about using the best tool for the application.
  2. You do you. The workout is greatly enhanced by clipping in. Why spend $2500 on a bike and then balk at another $100 to get the most out of it?
  3. You really care about how people use their exercise bikes a lot.
  4. yes you need clip in shoes.
  5. They have AC in the addition now.
  6. I have always figured that if there truly was a silver bullet to prevent or reverse balding that Jeff Bezos would have hair.
  7. I did a pan of the homesick Texan recipe tonight. Added a pound of ground to the gravy and rolled up with Colby jack cheese sticks. Topped with an egg and jalapeño. Perfection.
  8. The lodge was 14” and I wanted something smaller so I just picked up a Matfer Bourgeat. The quality is light years ahead of the lodge. The lodge has a bowed cooking surface and a less than smooth seasoning. The Matfter came unseasoned. The surface is much smoother and much higher quality. The lodge is fine but I wish I would have spent more for the large pan now.
  9. Terry Black’s in Deep Ellum has been outstanding the couple of times I have been. Good alternative to Pecan Lodge.
  10. I use colby jack cheese sticks. Makes rolling easier.
  11. I went last August. We did day trips from a cabin on Moose Lake northeast of Ely. There is nowhere else like it. It was a pretty cheap and easy trip. Any specific questions? Also—the fishing is ridiculous. We caught several fish by “trolling” behind our canoes with lures tied to string. No joke. Walleye and northern pike may be two of the best tasting fish on earth. Get up there and enjoy!
  12. See the elk in Boxley. We saw two bulls fighting back in March. Lost Valley state park is cool. There is a waterfall running through a cave. Not sure how the water level will be in September though.
  13. Best thing there was the okra the few times I went. Not a good sign for a BBQ joint. But it was real deal hand breaded okra, so that's nice.
  14. It was good with it. Gotta add the grilled jalapenos tho.
  15. Pico burger with jalapenos was pretty, pretty good.
  16. You really need the subscription. I figure that it’s cheaper than a gym membership.
  17. I’m absolutely crestfallen. I first heard him as a five year old and it hit me like a bolt of lightening then. As a 40 year old that feeling never went away.
  18. I picked up a preseasoned lodge carbon steel frying pan based on this thread and could not be happier. It is the best $35 I have ever spent in my kitchen.
  19. Prine at Red Rocks with the Colorado symphony was the best show of my life.
  20. Boundary Waters in northern Minnesota.
  21. It's great.
  22. This was incredible live. He played a bunch of older stuff that I had not heard live yet. John Prine with the Colorado symphony last night was even better, somehow.
  23. I have had the Isbell tickets for over a year. Prine rescheduled his cancelled show for the next night and I had no choice but to add a night to the trip. It should be the trip of a lifetime. We are planning to arrive at least an hour prior to doors opening. <Bart Scott.gif>
  24. I'm going for Isbell and Prine on back to back nights. Staying in downtown Golden. Is uber still the way to go or should I look for a shuttle?
