  1. Lmao, they don’t even try anymore. The majority of their updates are that there aren’t any updates. And when players commit, they claim they already knew but couldn’t post if. Lmao
  2. That was my first thought! It's telling that schools like UTSA didn't exactly go after some of these guys we had on our roster.
  3. I also imagine the tax implications of playing in Cali. If we're talking about a million dollar deal, you're probably paying 100k more in taxes. I'm sure housing and car situation will be taken care of for him at either spots. Pretty sure Lambo Austin can give him a 1 year lease for an instagram post. One thing I do want to pinpoint is that Caleb Williams is a bigger running threat than passing threat. Teams later in the year were able to contain him a bit. All of those players are also new to USC. SC was a 4 win team last year. I would argue that is a bigger rebuilding job than Texas right now. Quinn is known for his elite arm and deep ball. That's going to benefit him more than playing next to Caleb Williams. He also gets to play for Marion again and Sark is still the only coach in recent history that can say his WR won a heisman trophy. If Addison is truly going into the portal with an open mind, I like our chances. I'm just not sure if they already agreed on a deal with USC prior to entering.
  4. So did USC not have their NIL money lined up? 2-3 mil is a lot of fucking money to throw around. Caleb Williams and Mario Williams weren’t small NIL deals and they just spent another 15ish mil firing Helton and buying out Riley’s contract. That’s a lot checks to write.
  5. Who would fare better at RT, Conner or Jones? I have no idea. I do know that Jones was terrible at LT and looked average at best at RT when he previously played there before switching to LT. I think you let them two battle it out at RT. Conner could play RG as well but I think you have to get Campbell on the field. Unfortunately, I don't see anyone supplanting Majors right now. Majors would be a very good center if he could simply get stronger and bigger. He cannot hold up against bigger NTs.
  6. This will not last long. Once the chip shortage is over with, all it takes is a few dealerships to start cutting prices a bit to sell more cars and it will go back to normal.
  7. Worthy, Neyor, Whittington, Hall is probably a better 4 man rotation than 95% of schools out there. Just need to get some depth guys at this point. If Addison comes, then great. If not, it at least shows recruits and some of these guys on campus that we’re going to go after the best talent.
  8. Lmao, yeah. I feel like in these situations you have to put the best offer and it’s now or off the table scenario. Aggy and Jimbo have been doing this the last few cycles hence why these recruits commit out of no where.
  9. The guy is right now the projected #1 pick in the majority of 2024 NFL mock drafts. The kid can throw, Sark and the coaches see it. He’s also been through a fall and spring practice and will go through one more fall camp. He’s going to put up big numbers this year if these freshman OL can be even remotely average which shouldn’t be a huge ask given we just recruited two 5 stars that the rest of college football elites were after in Banks and Campbell. This offense is going to fuck…
  10. Yeah those ou, Bama, LSU, tOSU offenses with multiple 1st round offensive players definitely didn't help them make CFP appearances. Let's go overpay a bunch of nobodies at LB, DE, and OL that aren't available in the portal...
  11. Also... Malcolm fucking Epps is one of Riley's starting players right now. Does Addison want to face double teams with Epps next to him or would he like having Bijan, Worthy, Neyor, Whittington, Sanders playing along side him with Ewers throwing him the ball. Add in the fact he gets to continue to be coached by Marion... a guy he trusts. I think this simply comes down to the money and if we can have it lined up for him.
  12. I also don't think he'd pull Marion's strings if he wasn't serious. Marion was his position coach during his breakout season, not whoever the coach is at USC. USC has probably a more questionable roster than we do and plays in a conference worse than the big 12 where no one watches their games nationally due to playing in a pacific time zone. If we have the funds lined up, why the hell wouldn't he want to play for a coach he has a great relationship where he's got 2 other skill players that are going to help create a lot of 1 on 1 situations for him. If he chooses, USC... cool. But he's on campus and there's a lot we can offer him if not more than USC when it comes to the total package.
  13. Addison is a projected 1st round pick and a Belitnikoff winner with what... 17 TDs last year. Mathis was projected to go undrafted this year and had what.... 3-4 sacks last year? Maybe the people shelling out over half a million dollars for players want their money to go to actual guys that are difference makers. If Mathis was an elite prospect, I definitely didn't see the schools that are making CFP appearances really make a run for him. He ended up at fucking Nebraska where guys like Casey Thompson ended up when they couldn't find a decent landing spot. Mathis is taking the money now because the dude knows there's a decent chance he's an UDFA or very low draft pick at this point.
  14. My wife caught the boss scene where the Serpant boss in Volcano manor rips his sword out of the dragons mouth with all he moving worms or whatever the hell is on the sword. She was utterly disgusted... I had a huge grin on my face haha.
  15. I do. Bijan could be a Div 1 WR if he wanted to out of HS. He's got great route running and hands for a RB. He was essentially our 2nd best receiving threat last year once Whitt got injured. Sanders is basically a WR with elite hands that has now apparently learned how to block. There's not shortage of film of him on youtube mossing players if you want to watch his HUDL. Both Sanders and Bijan can be flexed out and still be a huge mismatch for a defense. Not too many LBs are going to be able cover Sanders, Robinson, Billingsley on routes over the middle without safety help. How many defenses have CBs that can cover Worthy and Neyor 1 on 1 without safety help. I'm really liking how this offense is setting up if we can get these freshman to be able to just play even at an average level.
  16. Sark managed having Ruggs, Waddle, Smith, Metchie, Jeudy, Billingsley all on the 2019 team and most of those on the 2020 team as well. All but Billingsley were drafted. These players know they well get their touches and featured in this offense. I would not count on Whittington even lasting half a season. I've heard the same thing every year, that he's taken care of his body and he's in the best shape only for him to get hurt in fall camp or as soon as the season starts. Hall hasn't proven shit and was basically kicked off Bama. He's a guy that I would take a flyer on but you certainly don't want to depend on him. Right now we've got Worthy and Neyor that haven proven to stay healthy, consistent, and can produce. You 100% add Addison if you can. If Whittington wants to explore the portal, let's see which elite offenses are going to guarantee him a starting spot when he's played a total of what 13 games in 4 years so far? If any of Neyor, Worthy, or Whittington get injured, we're basically fucked again like we were last year. You cannot just have 1-2 guy that can play. We have to follow the Bama, LSU, UGA, tOSU model of stacking elite talent in a room and let it sort itself out.
  17. USC has been rumored to throw what 2-3 mil? Riley made a run at Worthy and he’s here for what… 800k. 2-3 mil is a big jump from 800k. Let’s see if they have it. Not sure how serious Texas is at making a pitch to him, but if they are, throw whatever you’ve got and see if USC actually has its funds lined up.
  18. Big dick energy. Why wouldn’t Addison want to play next to 2 future 1st rounders in Bijan and Worthy along with a QB that’s projected right now in to go early 1st round if not the #1 pick in almost all 2024 projected drafts. Then you’ve got a guy like Ja’Tavion Sanders that by all accounts has looked like the 5 star player he was thought to be this spring. Throw him a 1 mil NiL deal and let’s see if USC really has guys lined to shell the money they say they have. Clearly they’ve got some funds with Mathis not choosing Texas. Who knows, you got the kid on campus, see if you can change his mind… Fuck USC and Bama.
  19. @closetojumping was Addison visiting the news you referenced to in an earlier post where you mentioned you had heard some stuff that made you change tune about Texas’s portal approach? Can’t remember the exact post.
  20. Welp…… I bought IBRX at 32 and bought down 3 times. It’s at $3-4. Bought WISH at $17 and it’s at $1.7. AMYZF at .98 and it’s at .50. Only stonk I’m up on is UUUU and not by much since it’s lastest drop. FML…
  21. I really like what I saw from Watts, Cook, Blackwell, Crawford and Barron. I really think we need to find someone to take Jamison's place. He's too boom or bust. He's great at making plays on the ball and he'll also give up at least 1 long TD a game I feel like. Those plays completely deflate a defense. I would bring him in situationally and have him come off the bench. I'd like to see Crawford supplant Thompson. Thompson and Cook are a slow safety duo. Crawford would add some much needed speed, but we would need to rely on Cook helping him figure out the mental aspect of it and help him line up. I would also try Blackwell at Nickel. He seems to fly to the ball and isn't afraid to get physical. The guy was recruited here as a LB. Not sure what his coverage skills are but I would try him there. Brooks, Johnson, and BJ Allen will need more time in the program but they look like great culture fits as far as young player go. Fully expect Guillbeau to be kicked off the team. This is what I would be hoping for as far as our fall lineup: CB: Watts BS: Cook FS: Crawford CB: Barron Nickel: Blackwell
  22. So let's talk TEs. I really like what I saw from Sanders and Helm. I miss the days of watching Texas have dominant TE play like David Thomas and Finley. Jeff Banks seems to be proving he's an elite TEs coach because Sanders and Helm looked really good out there. I know both are inexperienced but both played snaps and special teams last year so it's not like they are completely inexperienced. Sark seems to actually use them unlike Strong and Herman. Sanders looks like big mismatch and his blocking was decent. Helm blocked very well and is a big target that can run route and catch. He lacks the speed Sanders has but the dude looks like he can be a 5 tool TE and actually be good at it. His recruiting star seemed to be way off. Dude was a 3 star with offers and visits to UGA, Ohio State, along with others. I think he's going to be a very productive player here. Not sure what to think of Billingsley. He looks like Malcom Epps in the sense that he's huge WR playing TE I feel like. His route running and effort seemed lacking to me but maybe I'm reading too much into his body language and how he plays. Hopefully Sark can create a role for him.
  23. He’s coming off a pretty severe ankle injury and he’s basically just practiced against air the last week or two of spring practice. They’re not going to toss him into live reps anytime soon.
  24. Gotcha, my apologizes to Christian Jones. Hard to tell with the numbers
