  1. USC has been rumored to throw what 2-3 mil? Riley made a run at Worthy and he’s here for what… 800k. 2-3 mil is a big jump from 800k. Let’s see if they have it. Not sure how serious Texas is at making a pitch to him, but if they are, throw whatever you’ve got and see if USC actually has its funds lined up.
  2. Big dick energy. Why wouldn’t Addison want to play next to 2 future 1st rounders in Bijan and Worthy along with a QB that’s projected right now in to go early 1st round if not the #1 pick in almost all 2024 projected drafts. Then you’ve got a guy like Ja’Tavion Sanders that by all accounts has looked like the 5 star player he was thought to be this spring. Throw him a 1 mil NiL deal and let’s see if USC really has guys lined to shell the money they say they have. Clearly they’ve got some funds with Mathis not choosing Texas. Who knows, you got the kid on campus, see if you can change his mind… Fuck USC and Bama.
  3. @closetojumping was Addison visiting the news you referenced to in an earlier post where you mentioned you had heard some stuff that made you change tune about Texas’s portal approach? Can’t remember the exact post.
  4. Welp…… I bought IBRX at 32 and bought down 3 times. It’s at $3-4. Bought WISH at $17 and it’s at $1.7. AMYZF at .98 and it’s at .50. Only stonk I’m up on is UUUU and not by much since it’s lastest drop. FML…
  5. I really like what I saw from Watts, Cook, Blackwell, Crawford and Barron. I really think we need to find someone to take Jamison's place. He's too boom or bust. He's great at making plays on the ball and he'll also give up at least 1 long TD a game I feel like. Those plays completely deflate a defense. I would bring him in situationally and have him come off the bench. I'd like to see Crawford supplant Thompson. Thompson and Cook are a slow safety duo. Crawford would add some much needed speed, but we would need to rely on Cook helping him figure out the mental aspect of it and help him line up. I would also try Blackwell at Nickel. He seems to fly to the ball and isn't afraid to get physical. The guy was recruited here as a LB. Not sure what his coverage skills are but I would try him there. Brooks, Johnson, and BJ Allen will need more time in the program but they look like great culture fits as far as young player go. Fully expect Guillbeau to be kicked off the team. This is what I would be hoping for as far as our fall lineup: CB: Watts BS: Cook FS: Crawford CB: Barron Nickel: Blackwell
  6. So let's talk TEs. I really like what I saw from Sanders and Helm. I miss the days of watching Texas have dominant TE play like David Thomas and Finley. Jeff Banks seems to be proving he's an elite TEs coach because Sanders and Helm looked really good out there. I know both are inexperienced but both played snaps and special teams last year so it's not like they are completely inexperienced. Sark seems to actually use them unlike Strong and Herman. Sanders looks like big mismatch and his blocking was decent. Helm blocked very well and is a big target that can run route and catch. He lacks the speed Sanders has but the dude looks like he can be a 5 tool TE and actually be good at it. His recruiting star seemed to be way off. Dude was a 3 star with offers and visits to UGA, Ohio State, along with others. I think he's going to be a very productive player here. Not sure what to think of Billingsley. He looks like Malcom Epps in the sense that he's huge WR playing TE I feel like. His route running and effort seemed lacking to me but maybe I'm reading too much into his body language and how he plays. Hopefully Sark can create a role for him.
  7. He’s coming off a pretty severe ankle injury and he’s basically just practiced against air the last week or two of spring practice. They’re not going to toss him into live reps anytime soon.
  8. Gotcha, my apologizes to Christian Jones. Hard to tell with the numbers
  9. Poona Ford, Omenihu, Ossai, Taquan Graham, Malcolm Roach all were much more productive players and most of them played in 3 man fronts. Coburn was better his sophomore year and Sweat was better too. These guys are all pretty ineffective now. Maybe they just suck now… who knows. Davis has coached at some good programs and his first stint here wasn’t this bad. Hard to figure out why these guys are so bad. If their play is so dependent on having a great edge guy, then change your damn schemes to fit your talent. Nothing makes sense to me about this defense.
  10. Oscar Giles had this group playing better than Bo Davis. That’s my drunk take on the DL…
  11. So burnt ends has a video with the OL clips from the spring game. Conner didn’t look all that bad on the film. He’s a massive guy and held his own. Looked way better than Christian Jones at RT. He can be serviceable. If I’m Flood, you’re hoping that Banks and Campbell can be physically ready bc our best lineup would be: Banks- Angilau - Majors - Campbell- Conner Karic is a liability and Christian Jones just isn’t all that great. He looks mediocre at best at RT and was probably our most penalized lineman last year. He’s huge and athletic but he can never get over that hump it seems like. Our coaches really need to emphasize to Banks and Campbell that they will play and need to show up to camp ready.
  12. I think our board is Cook, Niblett, Pettaway. And then swing for the fences with some OOS guys.
  13. First team defense looks bad against the 2nd team defense with a bunch of walk-one and WRs that should be playing at Texas State
  14. Only players that could transfer that would cause the fans to have “heartburn” would be Ewers, Bijan, Worthy, Sanders on offense. I don’t think any of those guys will transfer. On defense… Collins, Terrence Brooks,Overshown, Murphy, maybe Finkley. Of those Collins seems most likely. He’s an elite talent that is better suited for 4 man front and went fro best player into be team at the bowl game to back up under PK with increased playing time last half of the year. I wouldn’t be shocked to see Collins leave but he’s pencilled in to start this year. I don’t think any of the other candidates would transfer to a better situation. If it anyone else outside of those names…. Who gives a fuck. Even half the guys in the names I’ve mentioned haven’t proven shit. Anyone outside of those names is completely either unproven or have proven to be mediocre to borderline terrible at playing football. They can fuck odd and transfer to UH and Sam Houston State like the other guys. Most of them will be pushed out the door. We need to rid ourselves of the damn loser mentality and players on this team that are here to be Texas football players and get more guys that want to play for Texas if that makes sense.
  15. After watching Jake Majors get abused every play against the Baylor DT, I'm fine with us trying anyone else that can hold up against a NT that weighs more than 300lbs.
  16. Yup, this is the most likely scenario. Christian Jones has had 3 years to show he can be a capable player and it still has not clicked for him. I also expect Hutson, Cam Williams, and Agbo to play. Lots of people forget about Agbo. He's a very intelligent player that is athletic and big. He's a multi-sport athlete which normally is a good indicator for long term projections. I expect Campbell and Banks to be day one starters with Hutson, Agbo, Cam Williams rotating in. Those last 3 are already bigger than some of our starters as high schoolers.
  17. I have my biggest position with IBRX and kept buying on the way down. At one point, I was up on IBRX. Those days were short lived. I have no idea if I will ever recover my money from that stock but I'm just going to hold on to it at this point.
  18. Yeah, Banks volunteered because none of the other tackles at the all-star game could play RT. Banks himself doesn't play RT. I would not look at that performance as a bench mark of his talent.
  19. Gary Patterson isn't here because Sark wanted him or because PK may suck and Gary will become DC. Patterson is here because CDC thinks Sarks probably needs help in quite a few areas of evaluating the defense and he's most likely hedging having Sark's replacement ready if he shows up drunk or we have another 5-7 loss season. This is great for Patterson because he can stay involved in football and slide in and take over if thing go south. With that said, I'm not sure replacing Sark with another HC that didn't make a bowl game 2 years in a row is really a solution either. My 2 cents on some of the Patterson posts. As for Sark, the dude can put together an offense and call plays. We need to use him to his strengths and keep him off the bottle if he's still partaking. Then you ask Patterson to make suggestions to PK and/or bring in another DC that can handle that side. At this point, we need to try to put together a similar setup as Riley at ou where he had Grinch handle all aspects of the defense and Riley mainly calling plays.
  20. These coaches want to win. Bijan, Xavier, Ewers, RoJo, J Whitt want to win. They know they need elite talent to beat Bama. Whatever you want to call it. This offense has enough raw talent to compete with any blue blood at the skill positions of the coaches can develop them. If we can this O-line to improve even up to average, this is going to be a top 10 offense.
  21. Hell yeah, let’s get as many 5 star WRs on campus.
  22. Hell yeah, let’s get as many 5 star WRs on campus.
  23. We're talking a lot about a prospect that will never end up in burnt orange...
