  1. It’s going to be Bond, Cook, and Moore with Bolden and Golden mixed in heavily. The question is… who is losing their spot to Ryan Wingo because there isn’t a WR on campus as talented as him. Bobby mentioned in a live video that an agent told him that Wingo is basically the man in summer workouts.
  2. The dude giving him the sales pitch there was Evan Stewart who has yet to play a single game for Oregon. Not exactly a model representation of a player with good culture or habits. Let just be real here and not beat around the bush. He got paid and can smoke and party in Oregon. Hell I’d probably take that trade off when I was 18 and wanted to get away from family too.
  3. Not sure he took a back seat. I imagine like the rest of us, Johnson probably thought Moore would end up at Texas. Maybe this makes him rethink his opportunities at Texas as far as depth chart and playing time.
  4. Honestly, WR is the least of our concerns. We’re going to pull very high end portal players every year and we’ve got a stacked room. Maybe we can use that Moore NIL money to get players at positions of need.
  5. He picked Oregon? LSU, Texas, tOSU are churning out NFL WRs… and he picks Oregon lmao. Well, we were never going to win this one.
  6. Borderline 5 star DE Lance Jackson. Top 100 and borderline 5 star Edge Orogbo. Top 150 prospect and top in-state LB Elijah Barnes. About to land top 150 level safety Kade Phillips. All blue chips prospects after picking up blue chip dudes in Collins, Black, Filsame, January, Mack last year... I'm sure I'm missing other players. Texas is landing damn good players but missing on DT, the biggest position of need seems to be what has everyone up in arms.
  7. So just random tidbits from different podcasts and live videos. Hank South from 24/7 seems pretty confident Pettijohn is going to pick USC. I also wouldn't be surprised if we have Faraimo ahead on our board with how much Gerry and company have been hyping him up. Fasusi looks like he's trending to ou and seems like from posters here and Gerry that he seems to have enjoyed the partying part in Norman a bit too much. Maybe the staff feels Rogers would be a better fit and would take football more seriously? Who knows but getting Rogers would be a great addition and adding Brooks would make this maybe the best OL class in the country. Flood continues to keep that room stocked. Oh and I guess everyone expects Brandon Brown to flip tomorrow.
  8. Hell yeah. I didn't realize Orogbo was ranked that high. Our Edge/DE position has gone from biggest weakness on the team to arguably the best in the country. Also, HUDLs below from Faraimo and Pettijohn. Quick thoughts... Pettijohn looks like he will need to add some weight but looks good in coverage and is athletic as hell. Not much film of him shedding blocks. Faraimo's highhlights are from his first 5 games last year. Dude looks like a stud. Not much film in coverage either but he looks like he could bust some heads right now at the college level. Physical, fast, and great instincts. Honestly, I would be happy with either of them. Pettijohn trending away and Faraimo has been rumored to be a ND silent so decent chance neither ends up a longhorn. Faraimo http://www.hudl.com/v/2LjWWb Pettijohn https://www.hudl.com/video/3/15320534/6501c332a0238a035cd43fb4
  9. Faraimo is a beast. I'd take Faraimo given the choice after watching both their tapes online. With that said, not sure we can pry him away from ND.
  10. I think you are taking 1 instance and applying them to other recruitments. I don't think FSU paid Myron Charles and Kevin Wynn more. Those players have been recruited by FSU much longer and much closer to their families. Wynn wants to be a cook and we don't offer that as a major. Zion isn't getting more NIL from LSU. Dude wants to play for Bo and be at the same college as his GF. We're getting beat on most of these because a combination of factors that includes a smaller in-state crop of DTs that fit what we want, a new coach that doesn't have the resume or relationships yet, and not matching 7 figure offers. If Texas did not have competitive NIL offers, Brandon Brown probably isn't committed here.
  11. Texas a&m's historic recruiting class with 8 five star recruits is a great example of a team taking recruits that put NIL first. Texas seems to be at the top when it comes to NIL. However, it seems like Texas is NOT going to over pay for players. It's seems like they know what market value is for positions and will be very competitive in that regard. But if Oregon offers 7 figures to a high school recruit and you match... what are you going to do when the DTs on the roster come in and ask for the same that are already producing. You let them walk for a high school player that may or may not pan out? Texas probably needs to reallocate some funds to the DT position but I imagine matching over the top offers probably isn't a recipe for success. If you match, it also gives all the current commits and recruits the leverage in the sense that they will go shop themselves and come back to Texas and ask Texas to match stupid offers.
  12. This years DT group is going to be fine. Norton is a huge dude and he was behind a bunch of NFL 1st and 2nd rounders at UGA. He’d be in their rotation there getting significant playing time if he didn’t transfer. The rotation of Collins, Norton, Savea, and Lole is 4 dudes that have a ton of experience and grown man bodies. Arizona was no slouch on defense last year. Then we’ve got some young talented dudes behind them. I’d bet 2 dudes from the 4 mentioned get drafted. The real problem is after all those dudes leave, we’ve basically got January, Bledsoe, Bryant that we can rely on. Mitchell has bust potential written all over him due to constant transfer rumors and weight issues. We’re going to need to hit the portal hard again and sign 3-4 guys just to have depth.
  13. Can’t wait to see him play this year. There were so many times last year where it felt like he was just about to break a long one or felt like he was just getting in the groove and he’d get dinged up. This will be his first real year with a grown man body. I feel bad for the defenders that are tasked with tackling him.
  14. Embody is a pretty big moron. Dude thinks LSU will get everyone. They may get him but Texas has been on Anding for a while and I believe he’s from northern Louisiana where LSU doesn’t have the same pull. If he commits to them next week, well then not much Texas could have done differently.
  15. Dude… this is quite the extreme take. You have to remember that our classes are usually a bit smaller bc we save spots for the portal and do quite well in it. We’ve landed no shortage of 5 stars. We’re simply struggling at DT. I imagine it’s probably a combination of a DL coach that doesn’t have the resume that’s needed and needing to reallocate some NiL funds. Outside of that we are going to put together a pretty salty class.
  16. No one is expecting Baker to be an elite recruiter. That was my point. We’ve hired proven guys at other positions with a good track record and guess what, they’re recruiting lights out. On the flip end, we basically struck out on our top DL coaching targets and settled for Baker and it shows. He can’t sell shit at a position that’s pretty damn important to recruit at a high level if you want to compete with UGA, Bama and the likes. Regardless, I was expecting the dude to at least land 1-2 guys. Just hope Brown doesn’t flip or he will have struck out on every target unless you want to count Sanders as a priority target. Not blaming Baker bc the dude shouldn’t have been hired in the first place. As a program, we’re at a place where we should be able to attract talented assistants given where we have progressed to. If we didn’t land Freddy Roach, well that doesn’t mean we go and hire a dude that’s a damn assistant DL coach, not even the actual DL coach, whose entire collegiate coaching experience is western fucking Kentucky. There’s a lot of options in between those two.
  17. So who is left on the DT board? Brown and Sanders? If Texas is not allocating enough to DL, will this open Sark’s eyes? Also, maybe don’t hire a coach who has Western Kentucky DL coach for a year as the highlight on his resume. Nansen is killing it in recruiting and the portal and he’s been on the job the same amount of time. Choice did same his first years. Baker may turn out to be a hell of a DL coach but Texas isn’t the place for him to try to prove it. That’s on Sark for hiring him.
  18. Lmao… what a kick in the nuts. Oregon just swoops in and takes the recruit being in 3rd place. Well, maybe that leaves us with more money to give to Brown and Charles. Hell, just pony up and pay Zion just to fuck with Bo at this point. If LSU is as broke as people here claim, that should be an easy win….
  19. So is AMYZF basically dead at this point? I think it's at 0.07. What a dump.
  20. What a rollercoaster from feeling like we didn't lead for any DTs to potentially getting Brown, Sharma, Charles, and Sanders. May be our best DT haul since Sark has been here. Let's hope it comes to fruition.
  21. We’ll have to hit the portal hard again the next year. As of right now, departures will be Collins, Norton, Savea, Lole. Not sure if Broughton has any more eligibility left but I imagine he’ll likely be moving on. That’s leaves us with Bledsoe, Bryant, January, and Mitchell (potential transfer candidate). Not exactly what you want to see from an experience and depth standpoint in the SEC. On a side note, Lance Jackson looks like he’s 270 lbs now in that picture with Sark? His frame looks like he can easily carry on another 30-40 pounds. Would not be shocked if he ended up moving inside.
  22. Baker really needs to have our DL play at a high level and get a few guys drafted. Alex January has been the highlight of our DT takes over the last 3 years under Bo. Sydir Mitchell has been rumored to have cleaned out his locker before and is always rumored as a transfer candidate. Outside of those two, bunch of meh guys. It’s frustrating that we have had 4 DTs drafted in the last 2 years and have not been able to capitalize the success from a recruiting standpoint … yet. Here’s to hoping we get Sharma and keep Brown from flipping.
  23. Looks like RB Guillory just decommitted.
  24. I agree with Sark building a great culture here, but this recruitment is basically NIL. Let’s just hope LSU stays broke and cant match whatever Texas is offering.
  25. Is there’s a single aggy commit we actually pursued and pushed to commit? Maybe Coby Sellers? I’m not sure if he was even at the top of our board at CB.
