  1. LOL right it’s the rest of us and not brisket who has gone off the deep end. If we had boards here like Quacks and West Mall from Hornfans it would be huge improvement. You’d actually have guys like me participating in the thunderdome Haha
  2. Another strawman. There was near universal condemnation and revulsion at what happened to George Floyd and desire for reform. Even from me, a guy whom you called a terrorist. Personally, I’m sad that that movement is being hijacked by these radicals. Almost everyone here can denote the difference between these 2 groups. You’re being willfully obtuse.
  3. When I visited the Civil Rights Museum in Memphis a few years ago, I missed the section of the museum that described violent, Marxist-inspired radicals spray painting and burning buildings and throwing incendiary devices at the cops. Instead I saw a lot of Christian inspired non-violent civil disobedience. Shit like sitting at a segregated lunch counter or refusing to sit at the back of the bus. Please point to me where MLK advocated or condoned any of the violent acts we are seeing by the insurgents.
  4. I’m sorry that talking about the violent acts of armed insurgents bothers you. They’re not merely yelling “Down with the USA”. They are committing violent acts IN FURTHERANCE of overthrowing the apparatus of the state. In other words, an insurrection.
  5. This is an insurrection. It fits the definition and the first step that needs to happen under 10 USC Sec 334.4 is for a proclamation ordering these insurgents to disperse. Their chants, graffiti, etc show contempt for the very foundation of our nation because they are Marxists. They want to destroy our way of life. Take what they say at face value and deal with them accordingly - as enemies of the state.
  6. You're full of shit bt. From the WSJ https://www.wsj.com/articles/a-weekend-of-urban-anarchy-11595890548?mod=hp_opin_pos_1 Seattle “In all 59 officers were injured throughout the day with one of those being hospitalized,” the police department reported, and “injuries ranged from abrasions and bruising to burns and a torn meniscus.” Portland "Similar scenes unfolded in Portland as rioters tried to tear down the fence surrounding the Hatfield Federal Courthouse. Demonstrators threw Molotov cocktails Friday night, and after midnight one federal officer took “a direct hit from a commercial grade firework,” another “was hit with a mortar firework,” and a third “was struck in the head with a mortar firework,” the Department of Homeland Security says.DHS says some 5,000 or 6,000 returned to the scene on Sunday, threw smoke bombs and launched “a roughly 10-minute-long continuous firework attack against the courthouse.” DHS says at least 20 federal officers sustained injuries in Portland."
  7. Why do I suspect this guy means that either (i) the City is not issuing new parade permits in light of the COVID outbreak we are experiencing or (ii) these protesters are not bothering to follow the permitting process.
  8. Don’t forget shopping for groceries at Kroger open carry guy
  9. Your argument for civil disobedience would hold some water if the city was discriminating on the types of protests to which it grants permits. They are not prohibiting Black Lives Matters marches and the parallel to the Jim Crow era is a poor one. There is a reason why there is a process that requires 10 days advance notice: to arrange for traffic barriers, get word out that certain streets will be closed, get police officers to direct traffic and maintain safety, etc. The law is not being enforced which resulted in tragic circumstances on Saturday night. Have a Black Lives Matters March every fucking weekend if you want but get a fucking permit and arrange for traffic and safety. The rest of the time - protest your hearts content on the sidewalk without a permit as allowed under the law.
  10. Requesting a Street Event To request the use of a public street to hold a "March", a Parade Permit is required 10 days prior to the date of the event. Parade Permits are approved by Austin Police Department – Special Events Office. The permit is at Parade Permits . https://austintexas.gov/department/sidewalk-protests-and-demonstrations The permitting process needs to be followed otherwise we are continue to have the unrest. There is a reason why permits are required. To protect the pedestrians and passengers in vehicles by having traffic control and police presence to protect against rioting.
  11. Did they have parade permit like they're required under the law for a march? There are laws governing protests on streets yet they're not being enforced and we are allowing them to continue. Limit it to 1 street march with permit parade a week and the rest of the time do it on the fucking sidewalk.
  12. Any word on whether they have made the slots and video poker/blackjack looser to entice people back? How many people per table for blackjack at the Venetian?
  13. H-town ride or die. Go Astros. Hate us tour. Let's get that trophy again. Fuck the haters. Here is a video to get you amped for the start of the season.
  14. The author of the NYT piece had an issue with that too. Why? If these are exceptional circumstances, shouldn't parents be able to pod up with others that are the best fit for their child's needs that can also accommodate their ability to host said pods so as to allow for them to work as best as they can. If the districts are foisting online education on to the parents causing them to scramble, shouldn't the schools allow for parents to make the best of the situation.
  15. From the WSJ: The Times of London reports: https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/no-known-case-of-teacher-catching-coronavirus-from-pupils-says-scientist-3zk5g2x6z?fbclid=IwAR2gNTTf8SA_ycKPk8m0MWR-nEr7xzbSVJ8VgE4SFs9SlVNGZ7QPt0WwWCU There has been no recorded case of a teacher catching the coronavirus from a pupil anywhere in the world, according to one of the government’s leading scientific advisers. Mark Woolhouse, a leading epidemiologist and member of the government’s Sage committee, told The Times that it may have been a mistake to close schools in March given the limited role children play in spreading the virus. Prof. Woolhouse, chairman of infectious disease epidemiology at Edinburgh University, saying that school-age kids are “minimally involved in the epidemiology of this virus.” He adds that youngsters are “vanishingly unlikely to end up in hospital or to die from it” and “rarely transmit” the virus to others. Mark McLaughlin, Marc Horne and Rosemary Bennett of The Times also report: Dr Gabriel Scally, president of the epidemiology and public health section of the Royal Society of Medicine, said that reopening schools should have been one of the top priorities of lifting the lockdown. “It is a real indictment of our society that we can manage to open pubs and nail bars but we can’t open schools,” he said.
  16. I read the article. I agree that the poor kids are going to fall even further behind if they are left to fend for themselves with online learning. That's why I think closing the schools is a travesty. The parents with means and the time are going to do what's best for their kids. You'd do the same. We all would.
  17. According to this author, if you are a parent planning to do an educational pod you are perpetuating white supremacy. No shock, this garbage is found in the NYT.
  18. He demanded that the title of the thread be changed because it offended his sensibilities. Chinese Coronavirus.
  19. So you’re getting a little taste of what I have gotten from your CR pals like Upper Westside and Calihorn who do the same shit to those of us on the right. Y’all crowdsourced banned EMAWesome just because of his political opinions. To neg someone’s political opinions on the POLITICS BOARD when they’re not trolling is an example of the hatred of free speech and cancel culture tactics by the left. What is the purpose of the CR cabal’s negging of the right? It is the same pussy ass reasons the Twitter mob comes after folks - y’all don’t want to hear or engage with folks who have different viewpoints. Fuck you and your pussy ass cunts in the cesspool.
  20. When the public is dealing with lawlessness, property destruction and violence by insurgents, they will run to the safety of the police and the apparatus of the state no matter how flawed they may be. That is what I mean by people choosing law and order. No one is running into the arms of antifa to be their protector.
  21. Get your antifa guys in line and we won’t see that happen.
  22. Are the Boogaloo boys out every night causing problems in Portland? No it’s these antifa punks. What you will see soon if this keeps up will be a organized and armed group of patriots protecting their property if this madness isn’t put down. You should be thankful that the DHS is stepping up and tamping down the insurgents before armed militias on the side that I’m on step in. More than half of the country when polled support bringing troops in to stop riots. Law and order has ALWAYS won in this country in the end and it has always resulted in a backlash against those inciting violence. Finally, I would be 100% ok with this going down in Houston if it was needed. Antifa knows it can’t get away with their bullshit in Texas so it’s a moot point.
  23. Right because Portland hasn’t seen issues with leftist thugs over the years. We have a lot of allies that have dealt with slow burn insurgents like this that can help us in restoring order. They’re lucky we can’t adopt the successful strategies of Gen. Sisi in Egypt against the Muslim Brotherhood: they’re not peaceful protesters and neither are their tactics. Remember the first and most important role of government is to maintain law order. I’m glad they’re feeling scared now. Even liberals I know living in Portland hate these assholes and there isn’t going to be an outpouring of sympathy for these guys getting detained and shortly later being released.
  24. We will never hear from them again!!! Missing generation coming to Portland. We’ll see mothers amassing soon holding pictures of those missing. LOL give me a fucking break. Guy should learn how to spell fascist.
  25. Can't access the article behind the paywall. Is this shit true?
