  1. About that map, and I would share Ana’s doubts, how does one say that blob of red running thru Ohio is on the east coast.
  2. Change little chance to no chance and you nail the strategy perfectly
  3. More and longer of that thread was better
  4. I’ve been wondering what currency the new maga nation will use, what kind of banking and insurance system, how they can keep from currency attacks (wouldn’t that be a blue nation option). Etc. would turn into Somalia in a generation. And then when Mexico invades…
  5. As in, they are almost always scrupulously true.
  6. And then there is rhythm. I’m currently working on the Overture to Tommy, just a single acoustic. What Townsend did there, I get good bumps with every 3 or 4 chord anthemic progression.
  7. Well, after learning a few chords post college and playing at drunken parties with friends, I met my wife and the guitar went in the case. I sang a lot at this time, and got good feedback. Well, 40 plus years later I’m recommitting. Guitar will come with 3 hours a day practice. But the singing is just awful. I will look for a voice coach, t-bone, thanks. Glad to see that is a real option. You guys sounded good. And Bogey - how do you ever put that thing down?
  8. Not at all unpopular, Smuggs. Mine would be I like Brave Combo enough to have a song on a main playlist. (Hosa dyna)
  9. You are complaining about this now? This belongs in”Wives and the….” thread. Seriously, you are putting too much into individual words. Maybe all the forms he had ever filled out had only two boxes, married vs single. Or maybe he’s just intimating that he was yet just undecided. Still, that’s a mere ancient fact, and, I assume, you are still married.
  10. Slorch I’m not clear. Do you object to the intervention? Are those words sufficient to absolve the noose displays? You are Exxon mgt: what would you do? I would investigate it in depth, fire the motherfuckers and their cohorts, and lawyer money whip any and all who contest the firings. If they are numerous, lay a RICO charge on they asses. Donziger style.
  11. I read this this morning. Now the playbook is set. Get control of local college boards (easier than pie). Through hostile board action bankrupt and lose accreditation for the school. Force closure. Gut local economy. Coming to red state local colleges and communities near you.
  12. How about only those without white supremacy friendly views are allowed to vote? I mean, if we want to limit voting to only decent people.

    Cart Narcs

There was a bagger. Mr. Ashworth. His three sons were absolutely the fastest boys in town. Anyway, my mom and he had a deal where after he bagged he allowed me to take the cart out and back. It was a big deal. Building responsibility and all.
  14. I hope that is a professionally informed opinion. As in I hope you are right.

    Cart Narcs

Grew up an army brat, we shopped at the commissary. I always took the cart back, starting at about 7 years old, as directed by my mom, of course, and I never saw a cart unreturned in those years. And I guess it got into my psyche as “the right thing to do”. My wife, not an army brat, has also always felt the same. If the inconvenience is too much, and it is a tangible amount, then the rest of society’s demands/obligations must be unendurable.
  16. Bainbridge Is seems small at 28000. Almost all rural. If one needs to fetch a 62 Strat, well Seattle is a ferry ride away.
  17. Define progress, please. Seriously, that seems about as hard today as defining “good”.
  18. No kidding. And had to spend all those years with Jackson Brown.
  19. Nah, we talkin just Fattie’s kids’school
  20. Hope Bezos wins the bid, just to fuck with them.
  21. By “well regulated” I thought the joke to the second amendment and 400 million guns would be obvious enough. Well, not so, and not funny. Of course accepting 400 million immigrants was not serious. SL, I fully agree there has not been a society that welcomed all comers. To be more precise, our society could very well handle considerably more. And, secondly, this inborn hate for the other has been tamped down, superficially, in only a few places for some time. It is running rampant everywhere now. It hardly makes the world a better place. It leads to much cruelty. That all this is justified by sovereignty gives sovereignty a bad name. Given climate change, and expanded knowledge in poor societies that they may have options, will greatly increase migrant flow over the coming decades. We have to learn to be better at facing this and dealing with it in a helpful way. It’s a global issue but we have to clearly lead by example. Our most recent example material seems to have shown others how to optimize the hate. Bullneck, Biff, I’m not new here, I’ve been on these boards since 1996 and Austin360. Just back after some personal time. A new handle was required, sadly. Thanks for the reminder of the immigration thread. Cactus, thanks for that video.
  22. Why is this thread still going, Ana nails it. (Clinical evidence joke insert here: 😀)
  23. Twice I believe most of our institutions are largely populated by folks I wouldn’t have to my dinner table. Not a majority, simply reflective of society today. And legislation has this mostly cumulative effect where it is damn hard to reverse or improve any statute once in place. All these desires for good go into the black hole of reality. I appreciate your advice to not reflexively “blame” attorneys. All this suggests the system, the law, the legislative efforts, the enforcements or not, etc, will not get better prior to society getting better. To the ledge, gents.
  24. Gator I know I would be less cruel with fewer demons and my own jet. Not so good for inequality but that’s for another time. Thanks, Gator, for the time you put into these discussions, serious and not.
