  1. "I think you should leave" is genius, it's perfect for SNL fans Driver episode was great, even the "I'm all out of cash" silly sketch
  2. Isakov's father lives down the hall from me here in Philly. They're heading to LA today for the Grammys (best folk album nomination)
  3. Vegas gets like 2 percent less fun every time I go, but I'm nowhere near giving it up. A couple things in my wheelhouse that have actually improved over time are the preponderance of flatscreen TVs showing live sports (not just in the books) and availability of decent draft beer in most strip casinos.
  4. Any suspensions will almost certainly impact their home game vs Tech next Saturday. Maybe also Tennessee and (fwiw) Texas. Also thought it was funny the PA announcer is talking about "free appetizers" for fans during the heat of the battle Oh, and DeSousa with another off the court headline for a guy who's done nothing to help the team. He's 9th in minutes played yet 4th in fouls committed
  5. It's in Miami next year. But mainly this is a function of the money needed to build a state-of-the-art stadium requires it to be usable 365 days a year which means it needs a roof. Places like Chicago or Philly aren't going to bid on CFP. They'd happily go back to the Rose Bowl but politically that group still doesn't want to overshadow Oregon-Wisconsin or whatever. Side note, it's not an exaggeration to say there might be over 500 people on the sidelines NOT including players. ESPN mega cast stuff requires tons of people and also weather-sensitive equipment. Then you have security, photographers, cheer teams, officials and miscellaneous staffers. It would cause major disruption if the weather turned bad.
  6. Pfft. Like if your wife leaves you, but the next day a female co-worker compliments your socks
  7. I'm skeptical of the OL being allowed two yards downfield before a pass is thrown. I wonder if every offense is pretty much going to look like Auburn with tons of RPOs and pick plays, and defenses will have to resort to "lobstering" to slow the game down. Definitely will be some high scores, which I guess is what they want.
  8. As an Eagles fan, I hoped Garrett would hold on a couple more decades, even though he somehow got them beating us head-to-head more often than not in recent years. Have to think McCarthy will improve things for Dallas at least in the near term. But it's long been an organization populated by a handful of massive egos and superstars, always in the headlines, sometimes for swimming with models in Mexico, sometimes for beating the shit out of women or dealing/using drugs. And the stars who stay clean are given such hero worship that it's hard to imagine the Cowboys locker room ever really feeling like a unified team.
  9. Eagles have a real good shot here. Both teams pretty banged up. If Wilson is able to scramble and pick apart the secondary, that's trouble. But no reason the Birds' new mini-offense can't drain clock and put up some points too.
  10. I've stayed at a couple of resorts - Coronado Island (San Diego) was great, the one in Key Largo was fine but not really close to anything interesting. The Fort Lauderdale location has great beach access and views of cruise ships coming/going on certain days. I do love the Cosmo in Vegas, but they will hit you with like $85/night resort fee. Ritz Key Biscayne is one I've always wanted to check out
  11. It's a consequence of CFP's decision to scrap the "let's take over New Years Eve" idea for the semifinals. Had they stuck with that plan, the semis would have been Dec. 31 and they didn't want only a 5-day break before the championship. But by the time they moved the semis up to Dec. 28, it was too late to book all the space they need in New Orleans. Shouldn't happen again.
  12. Nice to see the Redskins hire a minority coach
  13. Several tweets say there were two PETA protesters running on the field late 1st quarter. It's not what you think (save the sheep), it was something about animal testing they do at aggy. I wasn't watching, not sure if TV mentioned at all
  14. Yeah that's someone who has never watched a Big 12 game
  15. They describe the incident(s) in enough detail to warrant fast-fwd for me and my wife. Then they keep calling back to it with short clips and freeze frames, I could have done without that...just briefly describe it once in the beginning and viewers will certainly remember. I also think they totally whiffed on the message they try to hit us with at the ending:
  16. I long ago stopped questioning anyone's fandom. It's sports, do whatever helps you enjoy it. It does irk me that the spacing of Cowboys best runs (70s and then 90s) means I will live my whole life surrounded by tons of people who just swear that multiple Dallas Super Bowls in a short time is the natural order of the universe. Basically anyone 35+ is conditioned to think the star on the helmet means another trophy is just around the corner because that happened when they were little.
  17. Well, I admit this played out nothing like I expected...damn, Cowboys Dak maybe shouldn't have even played? Looked like my arm as a senior softball outfielder. But you have no backup so... Zeke of all people plays the whole game like IDGAF, let's go ahead and book my Cosmo suite for EDM Amari hurt I guess? Seemed to come out at important times the last few weeks I expect the Eagles to handle the Giants who will know they need draft position more than a meaningless win. Wish it was Eli and not Jones though. If we somehow get past increasingly beat-up SF/SEA, Desean Jackson is likely back for the divisional round. Mainly just glad I get to keep watching with interest at least one more week...
  18. From an Eagles perspective, I don't see how we slow down Dak/Zeke/Amari. They fucking LOVE playing the Eagles and even moreso in Philly. We remain old, slow and broke down. I need this to be the NFL game this year where the better team completely shits the bed with the playoffs sitting right in front of them. That's how we got in last year, when Minnesota somehow lost at home to the Bears who were already locked into their spot.

    SNL 45

That was fan service in the best way. Mr Robinson was damn near perfect. Black Jeopardy went a little different direction but they nailed it. Eddie seemed comfortable even when he flubbed a line. I also always enjoy the Jost/Che surprise reading of each other's jokes. Black cue hard holder LMFAO
  20. Looked like KU's final play was for Azebuike but he waited to long to check in so they denied him. Still got in when ball went out but 4.3 seconds they had to see if Dotson could hero-ball it. Nova could be top tier again next season if they keep the roster together. No one expected to leave from the current group.
  21. I went to the Philly one, probably had 500-700 people. It was in the 30s and rainy all day so that didn't help. But the white, older makeup of the crowd would indicate this was mainly publicized via Twitter. It didn't have the buildup of some other Trump era marches. But it was better than nothing.

    Mr. Robot

^Pretty much my take too. I'll watch the finale, but can't help but think if I had stopped watching with like 20 minutes left in "Exit", I'd probably have a better impression of the series as a whole.
